Fathers

I don't know why, but I just felt like this randomly. I guess I suddenly miss dad lol :p

This has probably been at the back of mind ever since I watched that movie "Inside out" on the plane from Malaysia to Japan.

It's a movie about the emotions and memories inside someone. But I digress,

Fathers are like one of the most awkward creatures ever. Somehow they have been programmed to not show much emotion.  Or their circuit board is wired a little haphazardly, making it difficult for them to express themselves.

But they are like your shadow, you don't realise it, but somehow in their own way, they are always there for you.

They drive you up the walls, are not as empathetic as mothers, and though it doesn't show, but they really do try.

When we are in pain, or in distress, somehow, probably because we are programmed that way, we cry out to mothers first.

Probably sometimes to the chagrins of dads *Chuckles*

We don't give enough credit to dads, do we?

I remember my crazy believe in Vicks as the ultimate flu medication was thanks to dad (I've mentioned this before, and it's one of my fondest memories).

I remember falling asleep on the couch to miraculously wake up in bed. lol *it's magic!! - Chuckles*

I remember the time when I was a child, he'd excitedly call me to his side. Show me a worm and tried to convince the little me that it's a snake. I was like (-_-') "That's a worm dad..." lol

Or the time he was cleaning the lights in the dining room, and excitedly called me over to show me.... "Dinosaur eggs".  I  was like, that's impossible, Dinosaurs are extinct, but he can be quite convincing.. lol and I guess the little me almost believed him then, but I later realised those were lizard eggs. So again I was like this (-_-'). But I would never had seen lizard eggs if not for dad. *Chuckles* - To be frank I've never seen lizard eggs again since then lol

I remember how when the streets got crowded, dad would lift me onto his shoulders, and I'd be on top of the world.

How while holding my hand when shopping, and if he needed his hands, he'd shove my hands into his pocket *Chuckles*

How when he came back from work, the little me, would run up to him, be swept up in his arms and he would use his chin with rough bristles like whiskers to tickle me. As I giggled happily.

Then I got older, and I got heavier... Dad couldn't lift me up anymore. But...

Dad would accompany me to the clinics or hospital for check ups.

Drove me home after my gastro-scopy, when the effect of the anesthesia was particularly rough on me since I was overworked then.

Picked me up when I had my minor surgery. (Mom came to drop by after the surgery, and irritated the doctors when she tried to look at the wound, then went back to work lol)

Walked slowly by my side when I injured my feet and couldn't walk fast in Gold Coast.

Stayed with me when I hurt my back in Australia.

Dad sometimes says things crudely, and they may be hurtful sometimes, but I know he just doesn't know how to express himself, and sometimes we both fight, since we are both so stubborn.

But like mom, dad has always been there, in his own way.

And as I keep crying here 5000 miles away, over my loss, crying with sis, and sometimes with mom, I was just wondering, has someone checked with dad, how he is?

I remember back in 2009, when I was still chambering lol (Shane told me, "go home!" even though it was only 4.30pm, he will cover for me, besides it was only an hour till the end of official work hours..), when dad got robbed in front of the house, he complained that instinctively, he protected Baby, but after that he was complaining to me, "Where got owner protect dog wan?! Should be the other way round!" lol

You know, dad was home everyday with Baby the most since he's retired. And I'm sure he is upset or lonely, but he's probably being strong cause he has to deal with all the crying women around him. lol

So please remember to comfort dad too yea :)
Both of them napping together, lol

Seal

-->
As I sit here 5000 miles away from you, I think back to 13 years ago. Where you fitted so snugly into the palm of my hand.

Where even when the world was still dark and noiseless to you, you chose me, as I would have chosen you.

Where even though we weren’t sure if we were allowed to be together, you waited for me and stuck to me like you were already mine.

Where you won the final agreement out of dad in such an adorable manner that the scene forever replays in my mind.

And with all that, I find myself, yet again wishing that I were by your side, to comfort you, to touch you, to reassure you, to be there for you.

Is it possible to love this much? Was I capable of this much love? I never knew; or maybe I had always doubted myself.

But I guess it is possible to love this much; I am capable of loving this much.

If anything, my tears now are the testament of this deep love I feel for you. This fear I feel of losing you. The emptiness I fear that I will feel when you leave me. To this fear of coming home without you there to greet me.

I had always found it so adorable at how you would always by-pass everyone else to greet me first when I got home. And it would seem that I actually do the same.

We have been together for almost everyday of your life; we ate together, bathed together, and slept together…

It seemed like we always wanted to be together, and we were, save for when I went to England to study, or when I went for holidays, or business trips, or even now that I’m 5000 miles away in the land of the rising sun.

But even when we were and are apart, not once had I ever-stopped thinking of you, or wishing I were with you.

You had and have my love through and through.

I deigned from mentioning it too much, lest people thought I was some crazy dog lady, but I think they already knew though, and mom always knew that I was crazy about you. (She was and I think, still is very worried about my mental health on what I would do after this.)

But hey, the rest of the family thought about you too. They all loved you like crazy too; well maybe not as much as I do though, that privilege belonged only to me, I suppose.

And who could fault you? Who wouldn’t love you? You made it impossible not to love you, especially when you loved back so unconditionally. For someone so small, your heart was humongous.

I’m sure many others have gone through what I am going through now; by right we humans are supposed to outlive our pets and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If I had gone before you, who then would look after you? It will be harder for you than it will be for me. So I am glad in that morbid sense that you wouldn't have to live without me.

But I do ponder how I will live without you.

As they had said in the movie 10 promises to my dog, I have work, my friends, and other family members, so I will, or rather should be able to move on (which I promise you, I will strive to do so), but to you, I’m all you have. Is that true?

Watching you through FaceTime/Skype, looking for me, waiting for me at the door. Its breaks my heart, but I’m inclined to believe that that is the truth.

I am all you have, and I’m so sorry for leaving you, for going 5000 miles away when you need me most. I thought that we would have more time; apparently I thought wrongly, the kindness of the gods/universe/whatever is out there, is probably reaching its limit.

I really want to be beside you now, but I guess you already knew that.

I blame timing, I blame fate, I blame destiny and everything else, but it still leaves me powerless to change the fact that I can’t come home to you in this dire time.

I believe that you remember our promise, and that you will wait for me.

(Wait for me to come home and give me a little bit more time with you please.)

With that, I have decided.

Decided to stop crying and to take care of myself; to believe in you, place all my faith in the world in you, that no matter how tough it is, no matter how much you feel like giving up, that you won’t, and that you will honour this selfish wish of mine, because you love me as much as I love you.

So as I sit here writing this to you, in a probably vain attempt to let it all out, to place this seal on my tears, to be replaced with a smile; as I try to hide my worries for you and trudge on and go on with life as normal as any other human has to in this cruel human society that does not formally recognise pets as family.

I wish again to be by your side, but let’s keep it sealed for the time being okay? And we will write again when the seal breaks.

I’m forever yours.

Precocious

-->
Dictionary definition:
Adjective –
1.    Unusually advanced or mature in development, especially mental development: a precocious child.
2.    Prematurely developed, as the mind, faculties, etc.
3.    Or or relating to premature development.
4.    Botany.
a.    Flowering, fruiting, or ripening early, as plants or fruit.
b.    Bearing blossoms before leaves, as plants.
c.     Appearing before leaves, as flowers.

It’s not a term that I’m unfamiliar with, I’ve been called that a few times over the years, since I was a child – though some people used other adjectives such as mature, mellow, grown up etc. But in the end they all agree that I usually act older than my age.

The last person I heard use this exact term on me, was my ex boss; 14 years older than me, and recently in a chat with some friends, a similar term came up. Though it was in Japanese. I guess that is the impression I leave upon others.

Is it a blessing or a curse? I am not sure, but I do feel that I have an inherent tendency to view things differently from other people, or at least I try.

It gets tiring though when people can’t seem to see the angle you are coming from. But I digress. This is a totally random post that resulted from a random conversation with some friends recently.

But speaking about maturity, I do wonder from time to time if it is this same maturity that helped me make my choices to this day? Or do I just not bother with the world as much as other people do?

I had some friends ask me, don’t I find it unfair that both my siblings get to live their lives overseas and I’m stuck back home with my parents? Don't I feel tied down?

I guess in some sense, some people will find it unfair. That I can’t spread my wings and fly as far as I like. But I prefer to view it differently, I’m the youngest amongst my siblings, and I view this as the chance for me to have more time with my parents. That’s it, plain and simple.

Thinking back to the past, I was a weak child and my parents had to spend quite a bit of their time nursing me to health, and I can say that I am determined to do the same for them. It definitely won’t be easy, but I think with a will there will be a way.

Randomly, since we are on the subject of my health I remember a few amusing anecdotes, I mean they are amusing now and I laugh a little as a reminiscence, but trust me I was frustrated and sometimes a little scared in the past. But in the end these are all some of the best instances of the weirdness of my parents and childhood *chuckles*

Like the time I caught a cold, and my dad rubbed Vicks on me, the next day my cold miraculously disappeared and till today I have this weird believe that Vicks is a miracle cold medicine.

I remember the time I had a high fever and my mom panicked and rushed me to the emergency ward, near tears and afraid that I had caught dengue. It was my turn to cry when a needle was stuck in me for a blood test to see if I actually had dengue or not.

When news of some neighbour catching dengue reaches my mother’s ears, I’m not allowed out at all and all doors and windows are shut…

Or the time she nearly cried when I asked if I could go camping with my scout troop, and she said that if I got dengue I probably couldn’t fight it and I would die, so no, I could not go – I never asked if I could go camping again, after that...

The time I had a really bad stomach flu with seriously high fevers after coming back from Australia in 2004, and my dad gave me 100 plus to drink, I ended up spitting it out, because of gas or something I think, and complained to him who gives 100 plus to a sick person first thing in the morning – I remembered he just laughed at me good-naturedly and that I had porridge to eat through out this bout of illness.

Or in 2011 – 2012  when I nearly had a nervous breakdown from all the accumulated stress from my work, and my mom actually told me to quit, don't worry about the money, she will support me with her pension till I can work again.

Again in that same timeframe when I had to go for a minor surgery to remove a lump, and was put under anesthesia, my mom was with me to comfort me and my fear of needles. (I had a big ass one poked into a vein on my hand and nearly passed out because of the fear and my empty stomach).

The time where my mom actually said that if I wanted to get another dog she wouldn’t be opposed to it, if it would help my mental state after I lose my current one.

There are many other instances, over the years, but these have somehow stuck very firmly within me.  It’s funny how they seem to be there at the most opportune moments, yet they are so fully capable of driving you up the walls at other times.

Like the time I cried and said they didn’t care about me, since they didn’t bother taking me to a doctor just because I didn’t have the strength to ask them too. Their excuse was, you seemed to be responding to the medication that we had at home, so they didn’t bother. This has happened a few times.

There was this one time, I was so busy with work and everyday by the time I got home my parents would all be asleep, my mom actually woke up in the middle night and scared the crap out of me, by trying to open my door by turning the door knob at like 1am in the morning? She could have knocked, but I don't know why she didn't! I was stripping for the shower and totally freaked out. When I worked up the courage to ask who is that, she said she just wanted to see my face.

I remember that one time, my mom accidentally kneed me in the eye, forming a horrible bruise, and I went to the hospital to have it checked out. The doctors were all pissed off like, “who dared to lay a finger on you?!” and the moment they saw my mom they were like “oh staff nurse, is this your daughter? Oh an accident? Ok let’s take a look”.

But I digress all this talk of the past, nursing and/or being there for anyone will probably be a while away, since it seems like they are still taking care of me even now. I guess we never grow up when we are with our parents.

My mom used to say quite often, that no matter how old the children get, they are always their little children in the eyes of the parents. And I guess that is true.

Not everything is a bed or roses, or unicorns, puppies and rainbows though, there are of course  the ups and downs. My parents are not perfect people, as I said they drive me up the walls a lot of the time and sometimes when they piss me off so much, I say things like perhaps I should live overseas too and come back once a year or once in two years.

Those are the instances of my immature times, as I say it out of spite to shut them up, but I’ve frankly never seriously considered it. I’ve never thought of being away from them for long periods of time. Some would say that it’s because I enjoy the comforts of home, but as crazy as they make me sometimes, I enjoy their company. Crazy huh? And I know sometimes I don't show it, especially after a stressful day and I need my “me” time. But knowing that they are there, that the support is there, even if they can’t do anything, but just listen to you gripe and whine and complain. it’s comforting.

Besides do you know the secret?

I’m not perfect too, I drive my parents up the wall too, maybe more so than they do to me; and through all the crap I spew, they forgive me. Although it may not show, I do try my very best to be patient with them, and to make them happy. It’s a battle, especially after a tough, long day at work and they say and do things that get on my nerves. But that’s life I guess, and I guess that’s family, we don't have to walk on eggshells around each other.

So I guess at the end of the day, if I suddenly died today, and you asked me if I regretted anything, I could look back on this chapter of my life, and at least be able to say, for this particular chapter that “no, I had none.” And that would be my honest truth.

Sunday, May 02, 2010

back

from the 26th of april 2010 (Sunday) till the 2nd of May 2010 (Sunday) i was in China with my family and my aunts (from my mum's side) on a tour...well holiday..

overall it was nice... scenery was beautiful... food was ok, learnt new things bout the culture... they have 52 minority tribes.. and wow... the women wear the pants in some of those tribes, (and the men.. are damn lucky...house husbands... imagine..)

and there's a well... really interesting tribe... (men didn't need to take responsibility at all,) haha... weather was okay too.. loved the cool/cold weather.. well downside? with china... you know it's the toilets... then again back home here we have really disgusting toilets too... so what the heck... at least 50% of the toilets we went too were okay.. i notice they have a problem with flushing.. it's smelly and disgusting, cause they can't flush... water system has a huge problem =.='

souvenir wise it was really difficult to buy anything.. why? well, cause everything is made in China, you can buy it back home... as for the food stuff.. i went to kun ming, dali, li jiang, and one more place... can't really remember.. but there was a hot spring there? haha... i guess that's what you get when you mandarin is only 40% usable??

anyway... i couldn't buy tidbits either for my colleagues, cause it was almost all yak meat... which i don't think my indian colleagues can eat, cause it's like a cow?? and my muslim colleagues either.. cause i'm not sure if it's halal.... =.=' so in the end i bought whatever i could... some preserved... sourish, saltish thing.. (shin mui kind of thing...)

also along the way i didn't really get quite a number of explanation from the guide, and had to rely on the tour leader and relatives to explain what was going on... but in the general sense... i got what was going on.... so guess it was ok?

but on the 2nd day? i think.. i fell ill.. it was a bit too cold for me.. and smart ass me, didn't wear a jacket to sleep. so i practically freezed to death... and caught the cold.. arghh suffering... especially when i had to fly (from li jian to kun ming... and the worse was kun ming to home..)

it was so dry, my throat ended up so damn sore, i almost lost my voice.. and my skin broke out in rashes, cause it was so damn dry... (either it;s the dryiness or the flu medicine.. which i think could be the medicaiton...cause i didn't get this rash in hte UK) and am still suffering the effects now as i sit here, sweating like a pig here typing this... (cause i got used to their weather, ours is too hot now.. practically bathing in sweat ) =.='

so again, the scenery was really beautiful, especially at the lake and mountain shall upload to Face book when i've the time. oh yeah, i made a new friend too... it's nice :)

but a little weird thing happened.. on friday night (30 april 2010), i dreamt that my boss was unhappy bout something, and then after that he seemed happy.. =.=' (it was like, he was unhappy i wasn't in the office? and happy again when i was back in - guess that's cause i'm back to do the work...?? =.=' i get that feeling.... i swear honest to god, it really felt like he was happy again in the dream cause i was there to do the work... =.=' weird right?)

so when i got home on the 2nd of may (at night, tired like hell, and still down with the cold...not really done unpacking...) you know that naggy feeling you get??

so okay, i check my email, and i see something from him... a number of his comments.... and you know.. (i'm a really impatient person), i don't profess to be a genius.. i admit i learn slow... and i'm a visual learner.. that's why i learn faster when i've something to read/compare, like a text book, or a sample document... (lately my attention span is quite short too.. and usually i don't like those really thick text books anyway, but the simple straightforward books)

so yes, i don't like the damn thing either, and would like to get it done and over with too.. i didn't stay till 11pm on the 23rd of april to finish it so that i had to redo it/add on to it, and make my dad have to come all the way down to the office to pick me up, cause it was 11pm and no one could drop me at the train station.

so thank you very much for your comments. i've been doing the work from the start, and forgive me, but my brain really can't process anymore, i see it as it is.... and you as a fresh brain... well thank you for your comments............................................. really.......... i don't know if it's inexperience or what.. but i really couldn't pick out the points you did..=.='

anyway, another point of annoyance.... oh wait.. ermm, let's say the good stuff first... a nice old malaysian chinese man... okay not that old, maybe bout my dad's age, let me cut the line, so that i could board the plane with my family.... thank you nice chinese man...

on the other hand, the annoying point? was this malay man... maybe about... late 30's? or mid 40's? was an ass.... when the plane landed and people were disembarking, he was pushing me trying to get into the lane to get out.... hello?? you really shouldn't wear sunglasses in a plane on a night/evening flight, cause obviously you can't see that the lane between the seats was so congested with people, that i couldn't get out either, so all your idiotic pushing was for naught....

i don't give a shit if you are going to wet your pants there, you were just plain rude, so a big no thank you to your rudeness you middle aged malay man, and for irritating me, after a sort of pleasant flight...

(sort of, cause well... my cold made my ear hurt really bad during landing, and the fact that there was a problem with the plane's audio system... and the food was reallly, really horrible i couldn't eat it, and the air stewardess english was horrible... and.... that the plane was really small and cramped, and fully booked and had only two toilets..... yeah i think that's the end of the complaint)

yeap, i think that's it... i had a fun trip, slightly dampened by my lack of understanding in manadarin, and due to my cold, and the fact that no one.. i repeat NO ONE, would accompany me to the hot springs :( then again, i was already down with the cold then, so it was in some sense a blessing in disguise...

i bought a number of things for myself.. at a cheap price (hey it's China right?), namely? a name card holder, cheaper than what you can get it for back home... a blouse, and a jacket... well with the clothings, i hope they don't shrink after being washed.. (they kept me really warm too, so i think they should be ok?)

other than that.. there's really nothing much to buy there, (cause we can get it back home)... so it was a lot of scenery pictures.. it was a pity the cable car for the snow mountain was under maintanence... i miss snow... but it was still okay?

alritey... really tired from the trip, so need to sleep as tomorrow it's back to the office, i'm starting to wish that i had taken an extra day off =.=' but then again. i'm taking a day off this week for my physiotheraphy... sigh.... so i didn't take that one day....

so back to work tomorrow to face the shit... err work... and yeah.. drowsy from the cold medication.. going to hit the sack.. good night world...

sorry la... if this post sounds angry again, my dreams have been telling me that i've been holding in too much shit, and need to let it go.. hahhahaha... nitey all :)

i hope i can come home early.... cause tomorrow my dad is going to pick my precious up, i missed him so much throughout the whole trip =.=' baby~~~ come home to mummy ;p hehehhe

again, nites :p

ようこそ2010、さようなら2009

The end of 2009, has come and gone, the beginning of 2010, is here... and well... it's just here..... we can't do anything about it....

it's just an excuse to eat and drink bla bla, yes, I'm jaded.... this is what life has done to me....

anyway, welcome to 2010 everyone, and good bye to 2009, and good riddance with that...

my last day of 2009 was filled with nothing but mishaps.. or rather, bad luck.... oh... i hate---d........ 2009... with passion.... well, to be honest the last day.... let's see what happened....

first the train was late... hmm that's a sign.. but oh well.... nevermind....

second i was expecting an email so that i can start my work early, finish it early, and fulfil my half day leave request....

bloody internet was down in the whole office, till at least 2 hours later... which meant that it would be impossible for me to leave at 1pm, the time i can leave since i had taken my half day leave... never mind... that's still swell....

happily away doing work, when..... with all honesty? i'm an idiotic git, I've no idea what happened, but i lost a good 2 hours of my work... i was seriously going WTF!!! and fucked up did i feel. felt so stupid for trusting the idiotic, retarded laptop, and not saving my work periodically...

i spent/wasted almost an hour, a god-damned hour, trying everything i know to get it back, but couldn't... i thus decided to breath, and resign myself to re-doing the work... thanks dear, and everyone else for hearing me curse and emo at my beloved office laptop..
(i think, it's taking revenge, cause i accidentally dropped it the other day.. eventhough there's no damage.... =.=' or so, i hope haha)

was really fucked up plus frustrated, cause try as i might, i could not get back the original muse of what i had written for the opinion, in which at that particular time, my muse was floating like....... ermm... well, smoothly.. and try as i might, i felt that what was reproduced was.... only second par... yes, was very unhappy, and very fucked up.... nevermind...

discovered firm will close at 3pm....... so.. since the document died on me, and i had to waste time, i was definitely going to be there till after 3, so emailed to cancel leave.. pointless to take something you can't, idiotic even....

nevermind...... i wanted to go to the bar council... then i found out, it bloody closed at 12!!! never mind!!!

i lost a button on my mobile, a button i frequently used...... so now the convenience is gone..... (breathes) nevermind!!!!

friends decided to go to i-city, nothing there, total waste of time and petrol..... nevermind......

nevermind, nevermind.... it's 2010....

i still got to watch my fireworks, front seat, beautiful view...
i was with great company the entire night...

so, it was a horrid fucked up day, but yes, my start of 2010 was much better, i had my wine (although you could say.. ermm.. i was a bit hung over the next day), had good friends/company, saw a really cute toy poodle puppy, (though precious is still the only one for me) and yes, that made my night... thank you..

ーOracl3-

oh yeah, visited a 98 (i think) year old relative of mine.. which i don't think i knew existed till today.. wow! coolness.... she's amazing, still strong enough, mind still well enough, and eyesight still good enough... :) ahh~ family

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Death..

A tribute..

It reminds us of the frailty of mortality.....

Which makes me think, that when my time comes..... I believe that I can smugly say that there will be people bawling their eyes out over my death, but I would like to be sent off to my final resting place with a smile.

But I digress, this isn't about me....

As you watch over us,
From the skies above,
Hear our hearts,
As it whispers,
Among the trees,
On the cool breeze of the wind,
Thank you & Rest in peace.

Much loved & missed...

yawn....

Had a nice long weekend, ran down south with a bunch of family members for.... well with this side of the family, it's nothing but eating and drinking haha... so yes, had the tummy filled nicely to the brim during thanksgiving with home-cooked food from relatives in Singapore....

it was nice :)

oh by the way, i know this is a bit slow (especially gene and huey, must be rolling their eyes haha) but recently i've gone nuts over Gackt's songs.. it started with Last Song (yes that is the song title) though, and orange sun (orenji no taiyou).... i like that type of style.. the rest, are still okay? but the moon's song (tsuki no uta) is not bad as well.. i like it when he sings like that hahah... (i.e slow... since i do like slow songs by default... keke)

i youtubed some of his music videos and came across some funny videos on him too.. joker hahahha XD (look at "magnum" hahha)

Am broke..... Donations highly welcomed..

This is the month where I've lost a lot of money....

No, no, not through gambling...... but through eating haha..

Have been going out a lot this month, (that would be fine, save for the places that I've been going were all so pricey.. sigh)

Anyway, had dinner with high school classmates on Thursday 121109, celebrated Cheese's Birthday on Saturday 141109, and 昨日はお母さんの誕生日です161109 (今日は実は九時午後ですはは), went out with University mate - QW with Ai kun on Sunday 151109.... badminton on Friday 131109 was a tad pricier now... =.=' went for movies.... watched 2012 on... Saturday after Cheese's Birthday as well...

Ermm... movie was so-so..... by the way, word of advice, watch with a not so intellectual mind and don't analyse too much.. either than that CGI suckers like me, should like it enough XD

Ahh, back to the outings.... sigh.... all so pricey.... am so broke.. sobs... please donate haha

hmm work wise... currently.. well..... self esteem is still a bit low, since I'm still facing a lot of things I don't know, especially with regard to the investments part.. ( still in the learning process - need to speed up!!!)..

guess it doesn't help that I am quite blur and slow..haha although I've some great and helpful teachers here :) A really big heartfelt thanks to them for sharing their knowledge with me, for correcting my mistakes and for putting up with my blur-ness (not to mention my retarded-ness haha though that's no secret I can be quite retarded :p) haha XD

All in all, it's still encouraging.. may be struggling to keep my head above the water, but its a good struggle.... if there's such thing as a good struggle... (life is a challenge??)

But yeah.. am working on it... (where art thou my beloved brain.. come back, come back to me... - ehem.. sorry.. being a bit Shakespearean dramatic here haha)

However, seriously, sitting on your butt the whole day and staring at the computer screen does take a toll on you... my butt feels so, so, so damn sore... so does my neck and shoulders from crouching over to read documents... my eyes... arghh... (having sensitive eyes is a pain.. literally..)

either than that... have been watching Fringe (stolen from my Master... haha) it's okay and all, quite addictive..... sometimes? but the best is Dr. Bishop, and his son Peter.. Dr. Bishop is so cute and funny haha.... I love his random obsession with food... (maybe it's cause I can connect with him on that level... only that level... I'm no mad scientist!! haha)

well that's all for the random rambling this round.. till then.. toodles....

much love

Update….

I don’t seem to have much of the mood to write… or maybe it’s because I feel the onslaught of motion sickness since I’m typing this in a car haha…

On the 17th of September 2009 I went to Italy with my parents. We went to Rome, Florence, Venice, Verona and Milan, beautiful place. I drank water straight out of a fountain, and nothing happened to me, haha. The water was really what I’d called pure mineral water.. It really had no taste.. It felt really pure and refreshing, and it was amazing that it was cold as well, as in icy cold, when the water came all the way from the mountains. The wonders of nature and the roman aqueducts haha..

I remember reading bout them and all, and it was a sort of dream as a child to go to Rome, so one thing off the bucket list (catch the movie, it’s a good one) haha..

On the 23rd of September we flew off from Milan to Athens, where my sister was, and we headed to Santorini from the 26th till the 29th. We left Athens on 1st October and touched down back home on the 2nd. A really tiring journey, at least 30 hours wasted to the travelling. It was fun, I really enjoyed it, especially Santorini, where we went to the beach. Sorry, the museum in Athens was splendid, but I’ve been jaded haha..

I haven’t been to the beach in years to play in the waters. And the water at the beach was so damn clear.. I only got a slight tan though cause we didn’t really spend that much time at the beach. It was fun.. I got to wear my bikini again haha... and had loads of fun playing in the water.. It was so clear I could see the little grey and green fishes in the water.. And the thing about Santorini is, because it was volcanic?? The beaches aren’t white and sandy, but black and stony, so it was an interesting experience… the stones were so hot, that when you came out of the water you were practically jumping, whereas the water was icy cold, and you would be screaming before entering it haha..

So yes, that was my holiday before starting work again on the 12th of October… and toodles for now, before I throw up from all this movement.. erghh…

アポデイト

はい,はい すいませんでした私は最近にとても忙しだから。。。と。。

What do I have to show for disappearing off cyber earth for almost a month???!!! Absolutely nothing... ahhaha..... [sorry, my head has been killing me the whole day.... forgive me for this moment of insanity...]

Well besides being busy, [sorry for such and old excuse, but I don't have any novel ideas when it comes to excuses as to why I haven't been posting, cause I rather not lie but tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth....] it's the usual old excuse, which I've said so many times we are all sick of it, so I shall spare us all by not explicitly stating it, but just implying it.. You know where I'm getting at...

Okay moving on... I passed my ethics exam..... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't even a little tiny bit worried.. cause I wasn't.. [haha gotcha.. hahha]

I totally forgot about it, if my colleague didn't keep asking me how are our results and if we've passed or something.. I totally forgot I took that test till I get reminded.. I'm sad, I know.. but well, seems like at least one person was having expectations on me passing it in the first round.... [so, okay was a little worried because of that looming expectation...]

Anyway, called parents to inform them bout the result, came home and went out with parents for dinner to celebrate... Japanese food.... at the usual restaurant.... [yes, a lot of things are being implied in this post.. it's all the "you know what" & "you know where" plus the "you know who" wherever applicable....]

So yes.... work... and you know what [it starts with the D word.. if you are having difficulty guessing, cause I know I am.. and I'm the author of this post.. yes, I'm sad x2.. sigh]..
and ermm... well work?

Oh, speaking of Japanese, we had a meeting today with some Japanese clients.. They were funny and nice [....and cute too?? in their manner of joking with each other that is... don't misunderstand =.='], and gave us a box of chocolates as a souvenir/おみあげ [if that's how they spell it].. 本当にありがとうございましたババさん!!

I have yet to share it with the other chambies, because they seemed so busy, and the meeting ended quite late.... So I guess tomorrow I will open it, when everyone is there.... XD

[well actually i've an ulcer, which refuses to heal.. sigh.. and am supposedly supposed to lay off these "heaty" stuff.. sign =.=']

Haven't managed to tell my master personally that I passed, he was really x3 busy today.. so I didn't want to intrude... shall tell him when I can... :p

ermm what else..?? I know the country's political scene is as exciting as ever, but... ermm.. well, you know..

And yeah, spent the whole day tortured by one stupid headache, and I meant the whole day.. no joke.. such torture!!
so am gonna pop some paracetomol now and hit the sack, and hopefully am much better tomorrow....

That's my update for now.. till next time, when i find.... well.. oh, you know what I've to find to post......

Pictures

More random pictures as I try to make use of the good connection to upload pictures..

So as they say.. the cliché, a picture says a thousand words.. so here they are.. all the posts I missed out cause I was busy... And the connection was crap...

This was my dad's birthday on December 2008

Uncle's birthday.. 2008... ermm forgot what month... November maybe??

Mom's Birthday on November 2008
A bottle of Asahi (Japanese Beer) by her side... haha..
Ermm.. November 2008 As well I guess.. or was it December... A very small G1 gathering at Yuen's Sunway.. I think I mentioned it before in one of the posts.. but here's the picture...

Just look at this fella, really and literally sitting down and eating.. 可愛い XD

He really is sitting you know.... :)

Went for the MPO on 20th December 2008, I think, Cause it was the winter festival, so I think it was about there.. anyway, we went cause they were playing the Lord of the Rings.. it was really superb.. and Des was a doll, and sent us back to PJ, since the last train had already stopped..

And Oh due to this screen they had, I had to crank my neck to see this sort of slideshow during the performance.. causing a neckpain... haha I recall that throughout the performance.. at some parts.. I just had to let my head drop and stare at my lap/hands/whatever, to ease my neck haha.. set too front I think.. but it was hard to get tickets...

-Oracl3-

Well yeah, sorry I'm backdating the last few posts, but I wanted the flower post to be at the top.. haha..

I miss London...

Got the link for the video below off my sister...

When it first started playing I was like hey.... I know the place.. so I restarted it to read the front part, to know the venue.. and I was like damn! I really miss the place... Sigh....

I used to stay at my cousin's at Liverpool St... So, yes, am very familiar with the Liverpool street station... XD

Damn I really miss London.. The transportation system there was way better than ours.. as in more connected.. minus the "Man under the train" every now and again.....

T-mobile did a really good advertisement.. I think it must have taken quite a bit of work.. since they can only practise between about 1-2am till about 5-6 am.. that's the only time the stations are closed...

I still remember having to pick my sister up at about 12 at night haha... it was really that safe, that I could just run out like that to catch a train/The Underground to go get her at Victoria station... I miss that sense of security.... (However, there are still crooks & drunks, so you still have to be careful....)

Don't ever ask me to do it here.. I might never come home alive..... =.='

Delayed posts

okay, since I can finally upload some pictures.. here are some delayed posts!

on the 29th of September 2008, before Aiyee left for the UK to continue her studies, a few of us Reading people met up for a little yum cha session.. so we ended up in... Ermm SS17 that side I think at some condominium... Xian Ai and I actually met some high school seniors there as well.. Small world..

But anyway we took a picture and here it is...

All firls only, we have Me, Xian Ai, Mel, and from the right, Ming Choi and Aiyee.. yups all girls... :p

Next up.. remember that retarded thing I was talking about a while back... Well I wanted to post a picture of it, but I couldn't load it till now.. So here is the retarded thing!!

It's a teddy bear.. 100% hand sewn by yours truly for her sister.. It's kind of small.. and it's a lot of work. so no commissions will be taken.. besides.. it's kind of retarded... Well, family members might be an exception... if and when I get more cloth and time to do it haha....

What can I say.. my sister loved it.. Well.. I did put in time and effort and all... and who doesn't like cute hand made stuff.. although it's a little retarded...

All I can say is that.. everything went on nicely.. till I had to sew them on to each other... making the indiviudal head, body, arms and legs were just nice and splendid.. Till I had to combine them all..

The head is a little off as in senget... and the arms.. well... I think one might be higher than the other haha.. but oh well... That's proof it's 100% hand sewn haha..

******

Look out for the posts below, as hopefully I can post the long awaited photographs...

First week...

Well the first week is over... so this is what I've to say..

Day one.. 3rd November 2008, Monday

First day of work.. had nothing to do... made friends with the other chambies & Paralegals....

Asked around for these forms (Borang 1-8 which is in Malay..which has already been complained about...) I had to fill in to be recognised by the BAR council that I'm a pupil/chambie. Spent the rest of the day filling out the forms...

Found out that my Master (Not that Master we have something called the master-pupil thing...) was the guy that interviewed me...

Day 2... 4thNovember 2008, Tuesday

Got permission to go to the Court complex at Jalan Duta to hand in my borang (it's Malay for form) 1 & 2 so am officially a chambie on 4th November!!

Got caught in a stupid massive downpour, the Masjid Jamek area was flooded.. and I had to wade through ankle deep water... sigh... Was quite tempted to just go home... and I think I should have.. But my stuff was still in the office.. So I went back to the office...

Day 3... 5th November 2008, Wednesday

Went to look for the lawyer that wanted to give me work the day before... It was research work... And I must say.. what we study in company law.. doesn't equip us for the corporate world.. It's a whole new world out there for this area of the law...

Spent the day, trying to figure out what the lawyer wanted.. and to get the answers for what she asked me to do....

Found it, but since I was told it wasn't that urgent.. Decided to take the next day to compile everything nicely for the lawyer the next day...

On another note.. Didn't really feel to good.. so overdosed a little on vitamin C..

Sister left back for Athens on this day I think...

Day 4... 6th November 2008, Thursday

The lawyer that assigned me the work had a meeting and wasn't in... Typed up and compiled what I think is what she wanted me to do... for the research.... and was just about to set out to look for someone to delegate work to me.. since my supervisor... i.e. the lawyer who gave me the work, and my master wasn't around... didn't know who to ask... but then another lawyer in the corporate department asked me to help her.. so okay...

Help with compiling and photocopying the stuff for due diligence (I've not much of an idea what it is either, so don't ask) Spent the whole day, arranging, photocopying....

The photocopier has a vendetta against me.. Kept acting up saying the paper was stuck, when there was no paper.. grr... I think I got Ozone poisoning..

I still didn't feel that well either... Maybe worse... but thought it was due to Ozone poisoning...

Day 5... 7th November 2008, Friday...

Officially do not feel well... Felt feverish.. coughing... sigh...

Still had the compiling and photocopying work to do... was busy, busy, busy...

Registered online for this BAR council thing.. found out... my university wasn't listed there... So had to call them up and email them.... etc.... had it settled.. got back to work..

Had a meeting/discussion about the ethics exam that we had to take... Was really feeling horrid already by then.. it was about 5pm then...

After the meeting.. another lawyer assigned me work for the coming week.. Quickly finished up the last of my compiling work.. and left for home at about 550pm....

All that's left would be to the print out the covers haha...

Sadly couldn't go for my much awaited badminton game, as am ill.. with a fever to boot.. sigh...
And that's all for the time being.. going to rest, as I've to go out with friends later.. sigh....

I hate goodbyes... See you again soon!!!

I think we both know it's kinda good that I didn't go... Though I'm always mean to you (good naturedly.... For me at least haha)... For my own evil entertainment... like this sentence... "You know today at the office I... and.... it was... and.... floating... So I had to.... twice..." You know what I'm talking about... muahaha [Where's the onion head when you need it for evil depictions!!!]

You know how upset I'll get at that moment..... haha... Not a piece of Ice after all... :p

Safe flight! Mauxz!!!

...And my fourth day of work crawls on me from behind.....

*Leaves a bloody trail behind....*

Hot, HOt, HOT!!!!

We all know what I go through when the weather is this unbearably hot.. thus is my life... Sigh...

Got back from the South 2 days ago? Was in Singapore, seeing my cute nephews and well.. maybe it's my last trip since I'll start work next week.. NEXT MONDAY to be exact.. that will mean even less time then now to do all the stuff I've usually been doing...

Of my list..
  1. Sort pictures from 2006-2007 for developing Not even 10% done I think.. sad..
  2. Finish photo album with current pictures (Where the heck did I put the pictures??! Damn!) Well there's about 30% more to go I guess.. maybe more..
  3. Translate the Ghost Hunt Manga Volume 10 Haven't translated a thing for almost 2 months?? 20 more pages... and well. .the other parts haven't been uploaded...
  4. Wash bathroom It obviously needs to be washed again..
  5. tidy room... (Well only one corner is messy....) With my sister here.. it got messed again.. and well.. I did some messing too..
  6. Iron clothes.... Non at the moment..
  7. Tidy up cupboard...g I messed it up a tad..
  8. Practise musical instruments? Does playing twinkle twinkle little star on the violin once count?
  9. Blog about my excursions etc.? Well, when I find the mood.. and time... Time, time... and well.. mood... plus blogspot stop being an ass and let me upload pictures.. I can't even write reviews for CA as it is =.=
  10. Tidy up the "Work" room next door.. well after I'm done with it.. Never touched it.. and my sis messed it up too..
  11. ... Anything else I deem fit to enter into this entry.....
I'm a failure... it's hopeless..

Not many pictures from Singapore.. unless you count the countless nephew pictures?? ermm well... that is all for the time being.. feeling really tired.. am gonna hit the sack early before i burst a vein over my retarded adium (It works as My IM.. allows me to sign in to MSN, YM and google talk at the same time..).. so sorry if you see me signing in and out of MSN, and am not replying your messages.. It's honestly not my fault...

Mel wants to have a halloween party this friday.. i.e. 31st October 2008, means I'll miss my badminton again.. and well I don't know what to go as.. any suggestions?

I have a traditional Japanese summer dress a.k.a the Yukata and I thought of going in that(saying I'm either going as Jigoku shoujo, or some lame thing such as.. the background character in some periodical anime, where everyone wears a yukata)..

But mel suggested going as a Japanese school girl.. in which this would involve my old high school's marron tie, a white shirt, my mini red checkered skirt.. court shoes.. and white socks if I can find it... so which one should I go as...??

some "Japanese student" or some Japanese in the traditional Japanese summer dress? inputs are gladly appreciated and very much needed. Thank you

On another note.. my iTunes has been fixed.. I really got to love the guy at IT Planets at the curve.. though I feel sorry for bothering him so often.. =.='

and some earlier posts below.. will be edited to include pictures.. that is.. when my connection allows me to upload pictures... =.='

Mystery solved??

Okay, the title does have some relevance, which will be said later. As for now.. A little update..

二零零八年十月三日:金曜日
  • あの人の誕生日、たっく、どうして彼はまで忘れないだ?!
  • Woke up, and for once... in months? :p Did some house chores... Hand washed some of my new working clothes, did the laundry changed the bed sheets etc.. And being the genius I miraculiously am... Somehow, stretched my left thigh muscle... Slight pain.. =.='
  • Went for my second badminton game today, again, it was from 9-11pm at Puay Chai. Cheese had gone for a holiday so he didn't join us, but grandson Thomas did. We had 9 people today, i.e me, Xian Ai, Xin Yin, Mel, Xian Qing, Kevin, Wei Hao, Thomas, & Wai Mun, so I think it was good that it's the holidays and the courts were quite free..
We paid for one court but used two haha.. It was fun, but I got trashed being the noob that I was.. I and a few others were terribly bullied, as the game started to move to a higher level.. But fun nevertheless.. Got praised that my badminton improved from last week (^.^) and well hope to improve more from now on. Good news is... I only had some slight muscle pains.. Mostly due to aforementioned thigh..
  • After badminton, went for yum cha at the so called, open air mamak at SS2. I managed to find a comrade who doesn't think that it's a mamak too.. haha.. Wei Hao was on the same wave length...
  • Sat and chatted for a bit, and although I had followed Xian Ai to the badminton court, I followed Wei Hao home as I had to show him where the mamak was, and since my stuff was in his car, so he sent me home.
  • The journey home was interesting, as he made a deviation.... The last time he sent me home as well.. We made a slight detour at the playground near my area.. but this round.. ahh.. It was amusing... haha.. we detoured at SS2... and us both being lost souls... joker.. makan angin really...
  • Got home, showered and everything and went to bed by 2 something..
二零零八年十月四日:土曜日
  • Woke up at 10 to the alarm, and snoozed it.. and got an sms from my cousin, Ling at 1015, asking me to chose which cinema did I want to watch our movie in.. Chose the new wing.. and woke up to get ready... Realised, that I didn't have any actual muscle pains from last night's game! (^.^)
  • Parents came along to the movies.. what did we watch? Mama Mia.. really wonderful movie.. did a review for it on CA so, do check it out..
  • Before the movie started as we had about 30 minutes to spare, Ling & I headed to the arcade, and played a game of Daytona and some shooting game.. It was really hot in the arcade.. In fact the whole of BU felt hot. . Either they were trying to be:-
    a) Economical; or
    b) Environmental Friendly; or
    c) There were too many humans, and they didn't want to turn up the aircon due to aforesaid reasons... or
    d) There were too many humans, and their aircon was retarded, and so they couldn't turn it up...
I don't know you pick and chose.. It was fun, playing all the games though..
  • After the movie, we walked a bit, before settling down in Mcdonalds, with a cup of coke, a Roti Boy Bun (not for me.. I'm afraid of that stuff) and a sour cream and onion pretzel from Aunt Anne's... I later dug into a Chicken burger, before being joined by my Aunt and other cousin Yen Ping [both being the mother and sister of Ling]. Since my aunt was there, I called up my parents to join us as well.. so chatted. Bought a box of sushi, and ate somemore.. Although, by all honesty I actually already felt full...
  • I think there's something wrong with my body's system? After the pretzel and the burger.. I was definitely full, yet I couldn't stop myself from eating the sushi.. making my stomach bloat up, and I felt like I was 3 months pregnant.. =.='
  • I think the badminton game has lost it's purpose.. since I seem to eat back double the amount that I've [hopefully] burnt... [I mean I eat at the mamak too!!]
  • After that separated from aunt and cousins, and bought some table mats.. cute, delicious looking ones and headed home..
  • Got home, walked precious, and checked mail etc.. before dinner..
  • After dinner, discovered.. more fleas on precious!! Now I'm getting to the reason of the title..
Caught like 4 fleas off him.. and decided that I should sweep my room, as he spends most of his time there.. Last week there was a multitude of ticks, and today as well.. So Miss Sherlock Sayaka here got on her knees and begin the elimination process...
  • Swept room, to discover that Precious's bed, which was under my bed, had ticks on it.. 3 of them, and one on the floor, committed sinful murder... before having the whole house throughly swept, with the aid of my dad...
  • Discovered 2 more fleas in the living room... The plot thickens... found one more on the curtain next to the door.... The mystery is thus solved, with the detective's suspicions confirmed...
  • The detective and her trusty sidekick thus head outside to stare at the wall, adjoining with our neighbours.. to discover.. a wall full of fleas!!!
  • Spent two hours, feeding mosquitos and committing more acts of horrendous murder.. death by burning... [read that as ridding the wall of the ticks as much as possible..] Dad and I got a real good work out.. And the poor wall, looks black in some places it got burnt.. and the wax.. on the floor & all.. Sigh...
  • Caught my neighbour returning home, and informed her in a diplomatic manner that the fleas were a nuisance, to which acquired and apology.. but these flea business.. we can't really blame anyone... I mean honestly, they've been taking better care of their dogs... or so I hope...
  • Well, mystery was solved.. Fleas cleaned up as much as possible.. had a nice good work out, and donated some blood to the pesky mosquitoes.. Retired into the house, and had a shower... and am now... doing this...
And that's how I spent my last two days.. I'll have to try and sleep early tonight as Ccy has arranged a breakfast date with me tomorrow morning..

Before I sign off, a list for myself.. to remind myself of the list of things I ought to do and to stop procrastinating!!
  1. Sort pictures from 2006-2007 for developing
  2. Finish photo album with current pictures
  3. Translate the Ghost Hunt Manga Volume 10
  4. Wash bathroom and tidy room... (Well only one corner is messy....)
  5. Iron clothes....
  6. Tidy up cupboard...
  7. Practise musical instruments?
  8. Blog? Well, when I find the mood.. and time...
  9. Tidy up the "Work" room next door.. well after I'm done with it..
  10. ... Anything else I deem fit to enter into this entry.....
