Quick Facts...

So titled as it's already 3am and I want to sleep, so am trying to keep it short and sweet.. Or so I hope.... Will elaborate later, if I feel like it... or maybe not....

26th September 2008, Friday.
  • Went for my first badminton game in 4 years[?] with, Xian Ai, Mel, Xin Yin, Chi Ming & Kevin Wong at Puay Chai's primary school from 9-11pm.... Suffering the after effects now. Muscle pains etc Real good work out though...

  • Playing badminton with the left hand [which is my recessive hand] is retarded-ly fun, and challenging. Had a good laugh...

  • Had quite a bit of fun, if not for the muscle pains that set in, in about an hour after playing.. shows how lethargic I've been lately.. Really should exercise more..

27th September 2008, Saturday.
  • Due to badminton ending at 1130pm the night before, and going for supper, I ended up home at 1230am.. And slept late, as I had to shower, dry my hair etc..

  • At about 9 something, dad woke me up for dim sum at DJ, not bad, will review it later on Critically Acclaimed, when I'm free...

  • Right after breakfast, headed to BU for shopping with parents, to buy work clothes. Trying on clothes with muscle aches, is a real pain, literally... And I think, if my mom wasn't there, I wouldn't know how to chose clothes.. Guess my lack of enthusiasm for shopping spurred this..

  • Why must work clothes be so bloody expensive??

  • Came home around 4pm, and took a nap. Parents went out for a wedding dinner, so had dinner with precious... Yummy Chicken Rice!!

  • At 925pm, Thomas came to pick me up for yum cha at SS2, with Wai Mun and Hoc Mun. I didn't know that, they called that a mamak.. The so called place near the polic station.. A mini Petunian gathering? Xin Yin joined in later. Left the mamak at bout 12am, after all the god damn bloody ciggeratte smoke, nearly killed my lungs. Thanks Thomas for buying the drinks, and driving me :)

  • Got home, checked mail, and continued my Taiwan drama.

  • Was about to sleep at 230am, when upon carrying precious, noticed a multitude of ticks on him!! I don't think he had them yesterday.... Then again, I didn't really carry him yesterday...

  • Never in his 6 years of life, did he have so many ticks!! WTF is wrong?? Got rid of all of them, [I hope] but am at a lost as to why he has so many ticks, no going into the garden for him.. Bloody stray dogs... =.='
Final note:

Need to clean room & toilet, and get back to my translating the ghost hunt volume 10 manga... & I should, internet connection witholding, finish my Taiwanese drama... Am watching Itazura na kiss/いたずらなKiss, both the Taiwan Drama [The Sequal, watched the first part in Reading], and the Anime... About half way through...

The CLP results are out!!

Note: CLP = Certificate of Legal Practise, a 9 month course foreign law graduates have to sit through, in order to get their license to practise as a lawyer.

Okay, actually I had received the information from a certain law firm that the results will be out today. And well, they called me this morning saying things along the line that I've passed, and would I like to work in their firm.

Well, before that Xian Ai had called me with the news and I went back to sleep, only to recieve the phone call from that firm. I tried going back to sleep, but since my sleep was disrupted and Xian Ai was going to come pick me up to go to the CLP board, so up I got to get ready.

Now, now.. enough of the talk.. I'm sure everyone is anxious for the results, and really just want to get over my mindless ramblings...

Well, about my results.. what can I say? I studied last minute... And I seriously mean last minute. I only prepared for some of the papers the night before the exams, and was totally freaking out that I haven't studied a thing at all.

If not for Xian Ai's gracious help, I wouldn't even know what to write on my exam papers!!

I know, I said that if I pass then there is no quota.. Well...

I guess....

There's no quota after all...?

My father laughed when I called to tell him that I passed!! Cause he called it "sleeping results" I shan't comment on that..

I'm obviously happy that I passed, so that I don't have to resit.. but am slightly disappointed that I can't play for another year, but have to enter the work force..haha, but who am I to complain?

Erm, am a little upset on the behalf of a friend who helped me so,so, so much but didn't make it.. and am upset on behalf of other friends who didn't make it as well... Sigh.. My friend studied harder than me.. I don't understand how she could fail.. Is there really a quota? :p

And am happy for the other friends who passed along with me!!

Some might complain about my lack of enthusiasm or call me over confident.. But somehow I knew that I would pass.. it's that premonition kind of feeling? Erm, thank the stars that I'm born with good selective memory....

Food!! YongTau Fu

Cross posted on Critically Acclaimed with a different commentary, well different enough.. As there are some things I can't say on CA, as it would make no sense there...

Since I've been commissioned by CA to I've tried to make it a habit to take pictures of the food that I'm eating, and to talk about it. I've quite a number of things to post, but as is evident from even this blog, I don't have the time to even blog on this blog, what more elsewhere.. =.=' Not to mention that there are groups I have to moderate.. And I still need to get my translations for Ghost Hunt done... I'm like some internet addict.. damn!!

Anyway back to the topic at hand.. As I was saying, since I've been commissioned by CA, I tend to take pictures of the food I'm eating, to do reviews about them.

So what is not better than introducing some of the yummies from my hometown, when I went back last weekend..

Usually, when we head back and if we make it during lunch hour we will head to this particular stall at Jalan Chui Yin in Bentong, Pahang.

His stall is usually crowded and with the seller having somewhat a temper, it says millions that people still flock to his stall to buy his Yong Tau Fu. I'm guessing a lot of people have no idea where Bentong is, well either go to CA for what I said there, or go look at a map.. I'm too lazy haha, although admittedly and obviously I cut and pasted haha..

Time for pictures of the food!!!

Forgive the presentation of the pictures, as this stall only does take aways, and the food comes wrapped in plastic and newspaper, hence it's look.

Okay, okay, I know it doesn't look that appetizing, (Looks like someone barffed in it?? Reminds me of the time where Ryan, my Canadian Friend in Reading told me the story about some people stealing food in his corridor, and the curry someone barffed in got stolen.. haha..)

But never ever let looks be the judge of things.

A more presentable look?

Actually, they have fried noodles as well, but I like their Chee Cheong Fun the best. But what's even better is actually their chilly sauce.. Yum!

You can see the chilly sauce which I've poured at the bottom right hand corner of the 1st picture.. The darker red indicates it all. It's really delicious, although slightly salty. The Tau Fu Pok [Something made out of soya like taufu], and their taufu is the most delicious, and they have enough fillings in it, to keep you satisfied. For those who aren't locals there, or not related to anyone there, you wouldn't happen to know that the tau fu pok in Bentong is really nice compared to those of KL. It's texture is softer and nicer to much on..
Darn, talking about this is making my mouth water.

Back to the topic at hand.. The stall opens exactly at 12pm everyday, except on Mondays if I'm not wrong. Around 1150am you will see the owner pushing his cart to the corner of the street, and getting ready to set it up. He's a really amusing man, who scolds his customers. Don't mind him actually, he does it with good intentions. Why? You may ask? Well, this is how he scolds you in Cantonese, I apologize for the rough/literal translation: "There are a lot of buyers, if you can't wait then don't buy, go away", "Why on earth are you buying so much? What about the other customers? Don't they need to buy as well?"

So, see his scoldings are all with good intentions, and though he tells people to leave when there are too many people, the buyers will still stand there not moving an inch like rocks!! His service is okay, besides scolding people, he does remember whose turn it is, and gives the proper priority. But his Yong Tau Fu is heavenly. Usually we eat the Chee Cheong Fun with the curry sauce, and the chilly. A piece of yong tau fu costs 70sen a piece. I think that's quite cheap, since you get the deal out of it, as unlike some shops which are so stingy on the fish paste, inside the yong tau fu. Well, if you happen to drop by the town, drop down by the place! And remember, don't let the looks fool you!

It's just like mamak food where presentation is close to zero, but the taste is delicious.

So if you happen to be in Bentong, give me a call, and I'll direct you there. Even better, make a trip there with me :)

Wish...

"If you wish hard enough, wishes do come true..."

  • Wonder how true is that?
  • Are there really wishes? Or are they actually prayers?
  • Do they really come true?
  • Who listens to these wishes?
  • Who or what actually grants them? If they are even granted...
  • Maybe they are partially granted?
  • Maybe it takes years to come true? If you are patient and tenacious enough to keep on wishing...
  • How do they come true?

Dilemma

I'm not trying to blow my trumpet here, seriously, I'm not even qualified yet, I'm still waiting for my results. And I know others are having it rougher than I, and that I should be very thankful.... but, but.. well, I may be an amoeba... but I'm still human in other respects...

I've already been to 4 interviews, and I enjoyed them all, some more than others, as they were all mostly fun and relaxing.... It really tested my ability to think on my feet, or more like the spot.. and my talking skills.... Though I don't think talking is an issue here.. I am very talkative... but I digress..

I ended up laughing with my interviewer... Again... today, and found out that he studied in Leeds and that he did the BAR in London... and well, laughing and cracking jokes... is that a good sign, or does that say I'm not serious???!!! =.='

He called me candid too.. Am I that straightforward/frank??? ..... Is that good for this line of work?? I thought lawyers are supposed to be cunning??!!

Yesterday, I found out one of my interviewers is half Chinese and very interested in Japan and their language...

Who is doing the interviewing here???!! Darn...

But well, I still got interviewed quiet normally? I'll take that as small talk.. as to how I got all these information...

As I'm sure plenty, especially in my line i.e. law, are in the same position...

Too many offers, which one to choose...?

I'm starting to think that I should stop going for interviews already, and take this time to seriously consider which firm to take.

The more firms I go to, the harder my choices become, everyone I've met is so nice, that I don't know what to do.. Even my bias-ness gets cured after the interviews...

Mid size firms are my first option, but I wouldn't mind a big sized firm. Big sized firms have more reputation, but mid size firms seem more close knit to me. Each firm has their fun people and difficult people, that's a given..

The work load will be, or should be about the same... So far all the firms I've applied to are accessible by train and is not a problem... But I don't know which to choose.. And I only have a week to do that, pending my results....

Sigh.. so many choices, not enough information, so little time..

One more interview next week, and hopefully it's the last? or should I not have that sort of hope??!!

Time to decide.. The clock is ticking.. Arghhh.... But I think I roughly know which I want... Maybe... I guess...

Oh, did I mention, I was given a tour of the firm and a doughnut after my interview today.. Sweet! :p

最近に天気がとても暑い

Title: Saikin ni tenki ga totemo atsui/ Lately the weather is quite hot

Title says it all... It's sweltering hot, going for interviews sweating like mad....

Oh, and yesterday & today for once I met a bunch of polite people, maybe it was the particular buildings....

On a totally separate issue, was talking to a friend... And.... I think I get it... but am not very sure :p

A small piece of History for our future Generation
------------------------------------------

Hitler's public relations manager, Goebbels, once said,

'If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth
.'

Once again our government had to wipe out any references to a famous Melaka prince as being Hindu and belonging to the powerful Hindu empire Sri Vijaya . So all of a sudden our museums, school text-books etc. all refer to Parameswara as a Malay prince.

What race ruled or did not rule is besides the point. What is important is not butchering history to create your own truths. You cannot change your race even if you convert - Parameswara could have been responsible for Umno's proud heritage of 'Ketuanan Melayu'. If this is what it is based on, there is no 'Ketuanan Melayu'. The lineage of Melaka Sultans are Indians, not Malays. It is no secret that Parameswara was an Indian and a Hindu prince. It is clear from records that Parameswara never converted to Islam. He was an Indian Hindu who fled Palembang in Sumatra to eventually found Melaka circa 1400 AD. It was Sri Maharaja who converted himself and the court of Melaka to Islam, and as a result took on the name of Sultan Muhammad Shah sometime after 1435.

The most famous of Indian Hindu Kings were Rajaraja Chola and his son Rajendra Chola who invaded Southern Thailand, Kedah, Perak, Johor and Sumatra about 1000 AD. This is Raja-raja Chola - the Indian/Hindu kings and not Raja Chulan - a Malay king.
But what is really sad is that our children are taught as though Malaysian history suddenly began in 1400 with an Islamic Melaka. We are led to believe that the Indians and Chinese first arrived on the shores of Malaysia in about 1850 as desperate indentured labourers, farmers and miners. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The cultural influences of India in particular, and China, in South East Asia span over 2,000 years, starting perhaps with the arrival from India of the Brahmanical prince/scholar - Aji Saka in Java in AD78, through to Vietnam, Cambodia (Indo China), Thailand, Burma, Indonesia, Bali, Borneo, Brunei and beyond.

The findings at Bujang Valley speak of an ancient Indian/Hindu presence in Kedah. There were Chinese settlements in Pahang and Kelantan around the 13th -14th century and in 12th century in Singapore . The early Brunei Sultanate had a Chinese Queen. One need not ponder at length the implications of Angkor Wat and Borobudur or that 40%-50% of Bahasa Malaysia comprises Sanskrit/Tamil words. To illustrate, some of these words are:

bumi = boomi
putra = putran
raja = rajah
desa = thesam
syakti = sakthi
kolam = kulam
bahaya = abahya
jaya = jeya
maha = maha
aneka = aneha
nadi = naadi
kedai = kadai
mahligai = maaligai
mantra = manthrum
(This list can go on)

An extremely important archeological find that pointed to one of the greatest empires in history - the Raja Cholan empire that ruled from the Maldives through India , Sri Lanka and right down to South East Asia found deep in the jungles of Johor a few years ago and made headlines in the mainstream newspapers in 2005, suddenly disappeared from the news…..
The time has arrived for us to record our history as the facts tell us and not as we would like to wish it for. The truth will never hurt anyone. Lies, always will.
Living in a world of denial...

Music

I really want Shiro back so I can type Ongaku instead of music...

Today's interview was okay, in fact we were laughing in there... Is that good I wonder..
I had to differ one, sadly, though I didn't want to trouble their HR but I didn't have a choice.. I have one on Wednesday, but that sounds scary from a friend who has already went for it..
Edit: From the looks of it, I have one for each day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. I'm beginning to hope there's none on Friday...

Waited for a firm which promised to call on Monday i.e. Yesterday since it's already 126am... but didn't call...

Moodless, possibly cause I'm tired... Interviews can be this tiring, I didn't know that.. Wonder how the Interveiwers stand it..

Back to the title.. I noticed that I like music where the Singer has deep voices.. Not deep as in Bass deep, maybe Alto-ish.. a bit to bass.... like Josh Groban, Taniyama Kisho, Remioren if you get what I mean.. or well, to understand the type of voices I like... for male singers..

For female, I like those voices like... From Changin' My Life, Rie Tanaka, Olivia Inspi Reira, though Anna Tsuchiya isn't bad...

Explains why I like gene's singing voice? :p

Shiro chan, oi Shiro chan... doko e? aitai...

Busy, busy bee

Yes, the title says it all...

Before I head on to the reason of this post, let me just say that in less than 5 hours my brother has to fly back to Brisbane.. so have a safe flight bro and see you again next year.. or well.. in the next few months.. or, whenever you have money to come home and can take leave from work... It's been fun having you here hogging the dog and everything.... And thanks for all the stuff from Japan.. I love it, and I would write that in Japanese, but unfortunately I can't because this computer doesn't have such a function.. but I digress, back to the topic....

I'm expected to be busy this week... Expected... Not like I wasn't last week... Anyway....

Reasons.. . ermmm, interviews coming up? some events with friends? A supposedly planned badminton game coming up? Yes, supposedly, because if there's no court on Wednesday, they will play on Friday.... and well this Friday there is a festival at IMU which I've promised to attend..... and well, yeah interviews.... We'll see how it goes, am tired and well, just really tired now...

Jittery bout the interview? Well, not yet, maybe not..I tried preparing based on this book Xian Ai was kind enough to loan me.... About questions they would usually ask and all... I guess I'm okay for those?

I'm quite confident a person, unless they start asking me law stuff, like what procedure should one do to get an injunction.. I'll just have to honestly answer, I'm not sure.. but I think an ex parte application supported by an affidavit...

(reason being.. when I was studying.. that came up so many times, for almost everything... :p haha)

On another note.. it's been more than a week.. one week and 3 days, since it's now Monday, 139am.. and Shiro chan is still no where in sight.. am getting depressed over that fact, not depressed, despressed, but just depressed.... You know when people say there are happy people, and than, there are happy people? Well, I'm the former, but you get my drift....

I think after my interview tomorrow.. I shall call the shop.. I can't continue living like this.. I need Shiro chan.. I have a ton of manga I want to download, I want to listen to my classical music, I want to translate manga, I need to download at least 5 episodes of anime, and that number keeps increasing.. and I want.... I want... I just want Shiro back!!... Sigh....

Interviews... Wish me luck...

Disappointment in Malaysian Politicians!

Initially I had decided to keep silent on this and just let it blow over and all, but after hearing the latest news I couldn't take it anymore. Where is justice? Our judiciary system!! Where has it all gone??!!

BRING BACK OUR JUDICIARY!!

The big issue going around Malaysia now, is no longer the Anwar sodomy case... Nope, that case has taken a back seat for the time being, for an even bigger issue, [currently that is] the comments and action by a certain Politician namely Ahmad Ismail (Bukit Bendera)

His statements that Chinese are Squatters, and the tearing up of the picture of Gerakan's acting leader was really uncalled for. Heck, if a non Malay were to say such things, we would be accused of Sedition and thrown into prison, possibly under the ISA. But somebody got away with it, with only 3 years suspension, and he still refuses to apologize!

IF anyone wishes to argue with him about Chinese being squatters, please take a good look at our history and compare it to Ahmad Ismail's comment!

But arguing with him about who are squatters where, will do nothing, and in fact we will be falling into their trap of fanning racial issues, playing right into their stupid political game. Which they had no sense to change even after 51 years of independence.

There's apparently and agenda behind it, due to the upcoming party elections..
(Understand the meaning between the lines? I, unfortunately cannot say more than this... Ask me in private and in person for more details, and no recordings please)

It's a sad revelation that this country has come to, this country has seen at least 3 generations of Chinese people born and bred here, and we are squatters... Is this how far we have gone in 51 years??!!

And the perpetrator gets off with such a light punishment. And I mean light!

This is actually obviously a seditious act, please head to Witch Hunt to read the exact wording of the statute.

The Sedition Act states that:

S. 3(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 defines
A “seditious tendency” as a tendency to:

(e) promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Malaysia;

Therefore Ahmad Ismail falls under section 3 subsection 1(e) on that, because he said that Chinese people are squatters, and this has caused feelings of ill-will and hostility between the races. We know between which races, I don't have to mention anything more....

Therefore under section 4 subsection 1(a) & (d), which states that: "any person who does or attempts to do, or makes any preparation to do, or conspires with any person to do, any act which has or which would, if done, have a seditious tendency; and utters seditious words shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable, for a first offence to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both, and, for a subsequent offence, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years"
[Quoted from S. 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, click here to understand more about Sedition and the Malaysia's Sedition Act]

Tell me again why he's only suspended for 3 years?? Where is the law?? He did a Seditious act & uttered Seditious words.. [Well, okay not so much as act, but he did utter!!]Where is the law??!!

You know, if we like, we can even catch him under the Internal Security Act 1960, look at article 149 here.

"Subversion’ has been defined in Article 149 (1) to refer to the following..... promoting feelings of ill-will between classes of the population in such a way as is likely to cause violence; procuring alteration, or causing prejudice to public order or national security."

with this Ahmad Ismail can sit in prison without trail for 2 years, in which the time can be extended..

"Under this law the Minister of Home Affairs may detain a person for a period not exceeding two years (and renewable for two year periods indefinitely) on the suspicion or belief that the detention of that person is necessary in the interest of public order."
[Section 8 Internal Security Act 1960]

Please note that I do not support the ISA but the Human Right's Act, but since it's there, I might as well use it. Honestly, I would prefer to catch him under the Sedition Act since there is enough evidence, and the jail term is longer.

* Disclaimer: Everything which has been quoted/referred to has been quoted from the sites provided above

Where it all started, the racist remark, "This is Malay Land, Chinese are squatters"... ooh lookie who's talking! History depicts otherwise.. Does he know his Malaysian history??!!

Am I Wrong he asks? If he's going to speak English then speak English, don't mix with Malay... Not afraid of ISA??!! Free country??!! Anyone can comment??!! Tell that to those people in prison under ISA!! Maruah bangsa [Pride of your race], Hello?? In other countries, people usually say Country then/before race, Negara[country]dan[and] Bangsa[Race], bukan Bangsa dan Negara..

3 years suspension.... What tindakan Disiplin [Disciplinary action]?! This is Sedition, we have laws for that!

Refuses to apologize still.. and people are supporting him... What on earth..? Even better? Asking Koh Tsu Koon to Apologize instead..

And now Tun Mahathir says he's coming back to UMNO....

イヤダシ——

Note: I've a new food review on Critically Acclaimed!
it's a funny thing, while sending out invites to people on facebook to join the group for critically acclaimed, I noticed that I have 423 contacts.... woah... but what's the point when you don't talk to at least 95% of them? haha

Edit: at the bottom of the post

Title: Iyadashiiiii [the lines —— actually extend the sound] : NO WAY!!

Guess what.. Looks like 白ちゃん/Shiro Chan has to be sent back to the shop... cause it's been 3 days or was it 4? Since I got Shiro back, and as you may have guessed it, by this far of this post... I still get that message... "you need to start up your computer etc."

Just great, and after I've spent a good 2 days updating my software, sigh..

I'm guessing this time, they will have to send my computer to the service centre.. Which will again leave me, wrestling with my parents to use the internet, while I be computerless...

Well, this time I'll be computerless for a longer period of time.. Argghh... why? because they told me, if I was still suffering from problems it would be to the Service Centre for Shiro Chan, and that will take a week or more.. a week, minimum... oh Woe is me...

On the plus side, my blog is up to date.. am only missing the Penang trip post, and well.. as for my moonlighting on Critically Acclaimed.. I've recently posted there, and am in no rush to post again.. as my next post is about food :p or the mooncake festival tomorrow at school, as an event, unless one of the other writers does it..

ギャ——/Gah I'm pissed... but well at least I'll get my computer back..

On the sad side.. Mel's mobile got stolen.. poor creature... another reason why not to like the KTM; molestors and thieves... Ladies please be careful during rush hours on public transportation...

Okay, shall get ready to send Shiro in for servicing.. I won't be very reachable online, so please call me if you need me.. the house is fine as more than often I'm at home, due to as aformentioned, lack of funds.

But the mobile is fine too.. though.. please call me? am low on credit =.=' thanks..

Edited on 9th September 2008

There's some good news after all, No I don't have my computer back, but I finally found my installation CDs haha... Okay, I apologize for suspecting my own brother... but he didn't have to call me names when I asked him to check =.=' and I did apologize to him..

And well also a big thanks to my dad who helped me turn the whole house.. well almost, upside down in the search for the installation CDs. I admit, I'm an idiot when it came to this... Sorry for being blur....

可愛い小狐

Title: Kawaii Kokitsune.. : Cute little fox

Ermm. I think the pictures are too small.. but the smaller browser is when the little fox is running, i.e when the page loads it runs, and the one behind it, i.e. the bigger browser is how the little fox is when the page is done loading, or isn't loading..

It's really cute.. but as I said it's too small to see..

But installing this add on for your firefox... is something you won't regret.. :) it's really adorable :p

Here are some little shots I managed to snitch of their official site. They are bigger, so it makes it easier to see the cuteness of the little fox :p

Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008

Edit: Group Picture has been added!!

Also.. I've sort of cross posted this.. With a slighlty different commentary on Critically Acclaimed Info.. Henceforth CA...

On the 29th of August 2008, Cheese, Xin Yin, Me, Mel & Xian Ai headed down to Putrajaya to watch the International Fireworks competition 2008 hosted by the Ministry of Tourism..

Due to some unforeseen circumstances we were slightly behind schedule, although we made it in time to watch the fireworks from the start till the end..However, unfortunately, we couldn't get a good spot... But the spot we got wasn't bad either..

Ermm country showing off.. I mean.. well you get what I mean... Was Australia on that day..

The blasted fireworks for close to 20 minutes and it was time to leave... =.=' I thought that I would get to see more.. But apparently each country is given it's own day.. so one day one country.. refer to the site [Link above] for more information.. But I digress, back to the topic at hand...

Hence, once we reached a relatively good spot... Cheese who had brought a tripod, set it up.. and the fireworks started...

OMG.. Atomic bomb?? O_o'

The after effects and the pollution caused by the atomic bomb..... Are those flying body parts of victims... *cringes in horror..*

Okay, okay.. I apologise.. I'll stop being a drama queen & I won't give the competition a bad name.. honestly the fireworks weren't that horrendous.. It was due to my camera that it turned out looking like some atomic bomb attack or something...

Further I was using the special mode for fireworks and without a tripod.. And standing still for at least 15 seconds wasn't an option for me... Hence the disastrous [Literally] effect..

Xin Yin mounted her camera onto the tripod and got much better shots.. befitting the competition...
Compared to my atomic bomb.. this is way... nicer

and more...

more...

more???

Okay that's enough... makes you feel jaded..

After watching the opening for the Beijing's Olympics.. I'm sorry.. but copying the smiley face.. didn't really appeal much to me either.. maybe it was because we were so far away.. that we didn't feel the "oomph" of the fireworks...

You know.. your heart doesn't jump in time with each bang or boom...

Last but not least a group picture... is what I'm wearing considered revealing??
I mean not to say anything, but I don't really feel that way.. It's just like a guy wearing a singlet right? o_O'

But overall it was really fun... especially the journey there.. as they say.. it's not the destination that matters but the journey there.. How true that is..

We had so many laughs in the car.. and poor Cheese who was the driver was being badgered by 4 girls.. and we all know, and have to admit.. the female species isn't the best in directions.. shouts of "left" & "right" at the same time.. left the poor kid confused haha.. Added in with jokes of.. getting lost.. and going all the way to Kajang for satay if we were to get lost or to Semenyih to see Cheese's University Campus haha..

I had a lot of fun in the car...

After the fireworks we headed back home to Aman Suria for a little Yum Cha session at Kayu's...

Eating, drinking and chatting.. After Aeons I finally had my Ramly Burger and Indon Mee... Yes.. I know.. I eat a lot.. or rather.. I ate a lot that night...

So at bout.. 12 something close to 1? We left the mamak and headed home.. With Cheese dropping everyone home.. and he and I experienceing a little expedition in Paramount Garden haha... It was a fun night.. Now to cross post this on critically acclaimed? :p

Family dinner 230808

Cross posted on Generation Lim

On the 23rd of August 2008, My relatives from Tien Men, China 天門 中國 Came down to Malaysia for a visit, so what goes on, but another family gathering, which includes food and wine... [Literally]

Hence, we headed off to KL, to a Restaurant called Hakka Restaurant behind The Pavillion [A new high end shopping mall in KL] for... steamboat...

No pictures of food though.. sorry.. But we have pictures of my relatives haha...

Here we have Yen Ping and Fiona...

GL's lazy contributor, Yen Ling & I

My Aunt from China.. she's already 70 something I heard.. Doesn't speak any dialect except a certain dialect of Hokkien, it's not the usual Malaysian Hokkien.. So sadly, we couldn't converse much with her..

Here, we have my mom, the other aunt and my cousin brother from China, and my uncle.. Those two spoke that Hokkien dialect and mandarin.. So we could still converse with these two.. but my Chinese isn't very superb, and I didn't know what to say .... Besides the other aunts and uncles were having lively conversations with them haha

Here are my other aunts.. and my granduncle.. all located in Malaysia except for one who is based in Singapore..

As I said there was food & wine haha.. So here I am.. With my wine...

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

Edit: Apparently I was told that it's Chocolate Lounge.. not Shop.. hence the change, plus some added pictures :p
Cross posted on Critically acclaimed info

On the 29th of August 2008, upon waking up I got a call from Mel.. asking whether I was free to meet up for high tea or something, as Jin Fong was free to meet up that day...

So with Xian Ai as the driver, she came to pick me up with Mel, and Jin Fong and we headed to Bandar Utama for a High Tea...

Ever heard of Theobroma Chocolate Lounge? Yes, that's the name of the shop Theobroma Chocolate Lounge...
And another sign above the counter

As Cheese had said that, that was the shop for Mel, and Mel had insisted on trying it ever since he said that.. now seemed like a good as time as any.... So we headed for it... The ambiance was nice..

With nice comfy little chairs for you to chat and sip your drinks.. The Ambiance was a tad simliar to Savoy's? Kinda high class feel, no loud insane laughters here... only quiet conversations..

Now as we all know.. I'm not a very big fan of sweets.. Well, not as much as I used too... I've moods for such things.. Moods which are so unpredictable and temperamental as the weather in the United Kingdom...

But I'm no selfish goon.. if you want to try it.. and if I won't die from it.. What's stopping you.... So... okay.. we set down.. it's self service by the way... you've to order at the counter... after staring at these..

and
Pretty menus..

After deciding what we wanted.. we ordered.. and waiting for almost and eternity before we were greeted with these...

4 Cold chocolate drinks.. with names pointless to remember... maybe... I don't know... I remember the drink called Iceberg, Queen of Iceland, Snow White Mocha.... I only remembered the names of 3 of the drinks...

Erm, we ordered two plates of ermm desserts, Belgian waffle?? and Banana pancake..

Close up of the pancake.. This was really delicious.. I dont' know why we don't have an individual shot of the waffle.. Don't ask me.. I didn't bring my camera.. All pictures are courtesy of Mel's mobile... others are from here

The waffle was okay.. but because we were waiting for everything to arrive it got cold and hard.. I think it would have been really delicious had we eaten it there and then...

It was quite pricey, and not really meant for the student's pockets.. Unless they have a free flow from their generous parents.. A drink there cost about RM10.90, whilst the desserts cost RM14.90, and they would happily charge you an extra 5 bucks? I think.. If you would like to add a scoop of ice cream to your dessert.. I'm a poor student.. and that amounted to almost robbing me poor in broad day light...

Here I am before the spoil....

Overall... All the chocolate was really jelak.. Resulting in me not really being able to eat dinner... =.='

But the banana pancake was really delicious.. and is recommended if you can afford it...

Has Malaysia blocked blogspot??

Am I the only one, or can anyone else in Malaysia enter blogspot? Not just to blog but to view other's blog. I sure can't.. To view my blog or other friend's who use blogspot, I have to go through a proxy. Whereas my sister in Athens has no trouble in viewing the page.. That is enough proof that the site isn't down for maintanence.. further.. usually maintanence does not last more than 24 hours.

ああ!めんどくさい [Argh, So troublesome]

As with proxies, one cannot log in, as was evident with Veoh.com.. Damn those people in veoh.... if you can't log in, there's practically nothing you can do. How then, am I blogging now, you may ask?

Oh, a very well placed question that is.. indeed... Lucky for some of us, blogspot allows for posting through email..

Though this leaves me concerns about pictures... I can't arrange my pictures and comment below them as I usually do in emails now.. can I? Sigh.. we will see what is going on.. I shall google about this later?

Some may be scoffing, thinking am I paranoid or something.. I mean Why would Malaysia block blogspot?

Another well placed question, which is not without its answer.

As most Malaysians should know, the government blames the bloggers, and has blocked Raja Petra's Malaysia Today site.. What's the connection?

A lot of politicians use blogspot to blog.. didn't you know? It's free that's why. Though some got themselves their own web address... Malaysia has a lot of blogspot users... and quite a number of them post political stuff and all.. Hence it's no surprise if they decided to block it... but without warning? What bout those of us who blog for fun?? The poor deprived and ignored majority of the people who use blogspot to blog rather than talk politics...

I can't really be counted as one of those poor souls.. but honestly my blog is 98% my journal.. I mean what's the problem.. but well, before I start pointing fingers... I shall wait and observe, and do a little research as to the reasons why I can't enter blogspot... You know, maybe Malaysia screwed the cables up or something.. through no fault of the government...

As of now... sorry if there are any mistakes and all.. as obviously I can't enter my account to ammend anything... ermm.. and well..

Fortunately or not.. I'm not blogging deprived as I've been added as a contributor to critically acclaimed info... A site made by some old schoolmates... Well, I've got some food reviews for that one... and well, if they add an anime/manga section.. I'll have more...

Recently been watching Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto... Interesting Shounen type anime about the Bakumatsu period (the end of the Edo Era) I know it's from last year, but I didn't have the time for it... I'm not done yet though, as my files which I downloaded in the UK with amazing speed are corrupted.. And I need to re download some 3 episodes to continue on with my show.. So I shall review that later.. hopefully on my own blog.. if not well... *shrugs*

Ermm, bout 白ちゃん's (Shiro chan) status... After doing some sewing, and deciding to go online... I got that same darned message again today, but when I restarted it.. It's working fine till now... fingers crossed? But just to be sure, I'm saving my files into my hdd.. which I took the oppurtunity to purge some really old files and all... such a mundane day.. felt lifeless, just staring at the computer the whole day, moving files around, deleting files.. etc... *yawn* if it makes you feel better.. just assume It's that time of the month haha

Sorry for being unresponsive.. Feeling kind of lazy to getting back down to translating Ghost Hunt's volume 10 manga...

You know, I actually calculated.. If I were to at least translate a page a day, the whole thing would be done in about 3-4 months.. but look at me here.. sigh.. started in April..it's September now.. Ok, I had exams.. and some pages really takes hours to translate.. since my Japanese is self studied after all.. and my Kanji knowledge isn't superb... =.='

Ermm, for someone with no mood... This is quite a lot? Haha.. I shall end now then...

Since I can't watch Bakumatsu for lack of files.. I'll find something else to watch...

I'm begining to hope the other animes, which I've burnt but not watched or; watched and burnt but didn't check, don't turn out like my Bakumatsu =.=' It's just too troublesome to have to download again especially in Malaysia, seeing that our connection here is so superb =.='

And since mkv & mp4 file extensions don't agree with Mac no matter what programme I download.. I'll have to use my parent's computer? haha Luckily.. for them.. or for me... I don't have many mp4 or mkv files.. as I prefer avi, since Mac can play that well...

So that's all for now.. I hope blogspot comes back alive soon & fast!! And it better not have been blocked...

Karaoke 210808

On the 21st of August 2008, after refusing to plan any outings because Seoh said he would do it... Which, as expected, in the end resulted in it being arranged and planned out by me and Leong, we went out for karaoke.. [I was dubbed the Event Manager ==' pay me and I won't mind the title haha... >:)]

Unfortunately, as Seoh had work, we had to go at night... ==' which means more expensive.. sigh.... But all the same we had fun... So who went? well, there was obviously the 3 people mentioned above, plus Xin Yin and her friend.. Pei Ling? Hope I got her name right...

I honestly wasn't very happy that I had to end up doing the work, when it was only for 4 people, and Seoh was busy bragging that he had orgnized bigger things than this.. knowing him, his information isn't credible.. or maybe he is more responsible when it comes to work, but couldn't give two hoots when it comes to friends...

Since he was bragging so much, I meant to teach him a lesson, and I decided to really not lift a finger.. if he doesn't do it, I just don't karaoke, simple I won't die from that.. but guess Leong really wanted it? haha cause he got the ball rolling, and arranged for a time when we were all free... hence.. we ended up in Red Box at the Curve..... Though I had expected it to turn out that way... I still wasn't happy =.='

But I wasn't about to let that spoil my mood for the night right? and besides.. Seoh offered to drive.. so it was all well and fine... and off we went for a buffet karaoke...

The new pop star? haha

Xin Yin & I, you know, actually this picture was taken upside down? Honestly 360.. Maybe.... Hmm... oh well... *shrugs..* cross your fingers to say goodbye to days where you tilt you heads to view my pictures here...

Obviously and outing is never complete without a groupie..
Well, we should know everyone here by know.. the unknown is Pei Ling. We've got some posers here haha

Nick Leong & I

Nick Seoh & I, after many attempts of trying to take this picture by ourselves.. cause he's vain?? it's the truth... haha

Pop stars in the making? haha Those were some of the food we ate haha..

And that 's all.. nothing much.. we sang/screamed?? till we were haorse, and well, I think the fun thing bout night karaoke is, if they don't have patrons waiting to take over your room.. you can sing till kingdom come....

Not to say it's my first time karaoke-ing at night, but the last round we left to catch fireworks, and well, me being a poor student... We usually go in the day time cause it's cheaper... It was an experience.. and it was quite fun.. Did I mention.. really pricey too? O_o'
