what is in a name? my japanese name...

"A rose by any other name, smells just as sweet..."

*edited....*

while taking a break from my essay, i decided to look up my name in japanese...and found something... well not to say it's disturbing.... errmm anyway, a new realisation? can't find the right word to place my finger on... entertaining maybe?? :p

as most of you all know i have been using the name sayaka for quite some time...a few years infact, sayaka is actually my middle chinese name ie the 慧, meaning wise.. translated into japanese... i've been suffering from a misunderstanding for years.... i always thought it was my last name translated....

oh well, as sherlock holmes said.. *I confess that I have been as blind as a mole, but it is better to learn wisdom late than never to learn it at all.*

at the moment i can't seem to be able to find my last name, 珊, to be able to translate it into japanese, my name 珊 means choral, or so i was told, and i still can't find it... unless my name actually means, stagger, loneliness or centimetre... i don't think i can find my name ==..
this is the word tat i managed to look up... my name is this (this is the old writing of shan, the japanese kanji uses the old writing... i can't seems to find any other shan that looks like my name) don't they just look a like???

so means actually my name is not choral but loneliness??? maybe tats y i'm always alone... so adding in my middle name which means wise... i am a wise loner??? or maybe a wise stagger?? or wise centimetre?? O_olll i demand a name change la like tat hahaha... :p haha but i had asked a few people before and they did say that my name means choral.. (when you put it with another word.. which i will explain below.. it seems that the word alone has no meaning. but i got the meaning for it from the website...contradicting haha. anyway, back to the point) i mean who would name their kid loneliness?? unless they think it sounds cool...

also it looks like, that word can't exist on it's own, it should be put with another word... apparently when put together with this word 瑚, pronounced as "go" making it 珊瑚、read as sango, it means choral but the word on its own means "ancestral offering receptacle" har, a space for your ancestral offering???!! O_o' OMG.. ahh the amazing thing about Chinese.. haha

putting both words together ie the sango together it would literally mean, loneliness/staggering/centimetre ancestral offering receptacle???? this is OMFG already lor haha.... but tell me, those people who were educated in Chinese cause i wasn't, do those two words together REALLY , REALLY ,mean choral? cause it's a shock to my system to discover that i grew up for 2o years and 9 months believing that my name is choral, when it actually means, "stagger/lonliness /centimetre" , in which my name will be pronounced as san, that is the onyomi, meaning chinese pronunciation? i m not so sure myself, the kunyomi.. meaning the japanese reading of the character will be senchi/sanchi... so what is my name???

sayaka san? or sayaka senchi? or sayaka sanchi? it all sounds weird.. imagine calling me with honorifics.. sayaka san san/chan???? OMG!!! sayaka senchi san???? wtf?? sayaka sanchi san ??? damn... ahhaa i think i will stick to my Chinese name of 慧珊.. or just please call me シンヂ hahaha...

anyway for the time being, i shall stick to to the belief that my name is choral, i have faith in my parents haha.. i am still the "wise choral".... hahah wise choral.. whoever heard of a choral being wise? hahah guess i shouldn't take the literal translations so seriously, but it is amusing... :p but if u really look at the significance of the word choral, you can get a lot of things from it, like characteristics of the choral, that they take time to slowly form, are easily damaged, are beautiful etc etc.... but let's move on... :p

anyway as for my family name 張.. i ve looked up the meaning for it, and it means :
lengthen, counter for bows & stringed instruments, stretch, spread, put up (tent)

well usually surnames don't make much sense anyway. if you go back to ancient times as to how surnames came along.. that is another long story though..

now for this one it is a tad weird.. there are a few ways to pronounce it..
1. ei (e as in eh, i as in the letter e.. )
2. ga
3, kin
4. zan
5. jiyan
6. jiyon
7. jin
8. sun (pronounced as soon)
9. chian
10. chiongu (this one sounds like how we all pronounce it.. == chi-o-n-gu, ermm i don't know how to teach you pronunciation here)
11. chan (again imagine honorific with it.. chan sayaka... chan?? )
12. chiyau
13. chiyan
14. cho
15. chou
16. tsuan
17. hara
18. hari

of all 18 i've only heard number 17 being used as a family name, from the anime ghost hunt, a character called hara masako, having watched countless dramas, and anime, i ve never heard of any other of those words used as a family name... so here is my full name in japanese haha... :p

1. ei sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
2. ga sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
3, kin sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
4. zan sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
5. jiyan sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
6. jiyon sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
7. jin sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
8. sun sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
9. chian sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
10. chiongu sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
11. chan sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
12. chiyau sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
13. chiyan sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
14. cho sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
15. chou sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
16. tsuan sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
17. hara sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi
18. hari sayaka senchi/ sayaka san/sayaka sanchi

ok time to cut down to my preferences of this amusing post..
for the surnames... as i've said before, the only one i ever heard of is hara, (though hari sounds familiar...must be because of my malay education were hari means day in malay)

so what? hara sayaka ... ? (lazy to type in the san/senchi/sanchi, fill in the "..." with your own preference...)
usually the surnames that i hear are at least three syllables long, but that's because the surname isn't only one word, it's at least 2 words... maybe can make it cool like, hara no sayaka... haha..

also there are 3 ways to call my given names, and cutting down, sayaka san.. i guess it is out.. cause imagine calling me with honourifcs.. sayaka san san.. ==

sayaka sanchi?? just sounds plain weird

sayaka senchi, is just as weird... though weird i think sayaka san sounds the best.. so you can call me hara sayaka san.. though sayaka will be just fine.. :p hahah

*end of this weird time consuming post.. back to the essay....*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
courtesy of ccy :) he has helped me clear up some things about my name :) he told me through msn; edited to fit the blog :p
the old is today's 珊, it's the same word
doesn't have to go with 珊瑚. it doesn't mean choral....
has alot of other meanings.
has been used as a girl's name since long long time ago.
imagine a girl in the olden days wearing those traditional clothes with a jed hanging on the belt...then when she walks the jed makes the sound with the clothing (sha, sha kind of sound apparently..)
the word, 珊珊 is used to describe this sound.
another meaning of 珊珊 can be: relaxing, light, wonderful, kawaii [cute] kind.
some even match 珊珊 with
可爱 means beautiful and cute..
ref: chinese dictionary.
http://xh.5156edu.com/show.php?id=13329
thanks ccy!! Muaxz.. i guess since it orginated from chinese we shall stick to chinese..
but refer to these sites on how i got my lonilness, staggering stuff...
http://www.nihongoresources.com/index.php
following this link, in japanese names, it looks like my shan just can't appear on it's own ahahha ..
http://www.nihongoresources.com/index.html
therefore i am hara sayaka san. and no san is not a honourific but you can just call me sayaka, :) heheh
Your Chakras Reading
Cindy, you are radiating positive energy from your:
Sixth Chakra
This chakra is located in the center of your forehead and is often called the third eye. The sixth chakra represents one's ability to see and really know truth. In your case, this chakra appears to be clear and unblocked so that positive energy can flow from it freely. Radiating positive energy from your sixth chakra indicates that you've cultivated higher wisdom concerning the important life lessons associated with this energy center. You're apt to be accepting of the people and events in your life, rather than pass judgment on them. You're also likely to have developed a higher level of intuition than most people have.
People like you who possess strong sixth chakra energy seem to be able to look past superficialities to see life's core realities. Not only that, but when a situation is murky, you're usually one to actively seek out the truth. At times, this positive flow of energy from your sixth chakra can even heighten your psychic powers, helping you to know the unknowable.
Generally, you have a higher mind about you that allows you to be more objective than many people are. So whereas others might tend to take feedback personally, you're typically able to step back and evaluate comments more dispassionately. If a criticism applies to you, you'll take it for what it is. You'll also try to make changes where they're warranted. However, if a comment is unhelpful, you'll usually discard it. By not feeling threatened or personally accused by others' beliefs, you ordinarily manage to spare yourself the wounding that most people inflict upon themselves. This positive, self-affirming energy is sure to serve you well.
At the same time this positive energy is being conveyed, you are showing signs of an energy disruption in your First Chakra. This blockage could be due to current events in your life that make you question your sense of safety in the world. You may also be feeling alienated from those who used to make you feel most secure and cared for. Alternately, this blockage could also be caused by more long-standing beliefs or negative circumstances that have made you fear for your life or safety. Such problems could have come in the form of actual threats to you, or they may have simply been worries over anticipated difficulties. Either is potentially damaging to your first chakra's natural flow.
Your seven chakras
The picture below depicts where each of the seven chakras is located in the human body. Note that some people believe the body has more than seven chakras. However, generally speaking, most believe in the seven energy centers illustrated here.
7th chakra [ level 4.2 ]
6th chakra [ level 4.6 ]
5th chakra [ level 4.2 ]
4th chakra [ level 1.8 ]
3rd chakra [ level 3.4 ]
2nd chakra [ level 4.6 ]
1st chakra [ level 1.6 ]
The First Chakra
First Chakra
[ level 1.6 ] The first chakra or root or base chakra is located at the base of the spine. This is a source of great energy and is the first of the seven chakras in terms of where it is located on your body. Here it is depicted in the body:
Your first chakra is associated with your connection to a tribal force and your sense of belonging in the world. It symbolizes the physical plane of existence — both the earth and your physical body. This being true, it's not surprising that the first chakra is known to be the source of self-preservation and survival. When this first chakra energy is disrupted, you may be more liable to feel alone in the world, be afraid for your safety, and feel disconnected from other people. You're also likely to feel ungrounded, lacking a strong connection to the earth or your body. Energetically, when the first chakra is disrupted you can feel you have no real "roots."
Your first chakra is a level 1.6 out of 10. This means that right now it appears that you have a preoccupation with survival on some level. Such a focus can get in the way of your enjoyment. It can also keep you from taking the risks necessary to be happy. By working the lessons associated with this blocked energy, you can begin to feel safe enough to take more risks and live more fully.
These are some common themes associated with problems in the first chakra:
* Believing that you're holding onto life by a string, like your life is about to fall apart
* Feeling that you are in a powerless position
* Working diligently to ensure you do not lose shelter, money, or safety
* Extreme blame or lack of identification with your family of origin
* Fear that you will be rejected and completely alone
* Eating for comfort and to ground the body
Disruption in this chakra is also sometimes associated with separation from the mother at birth.
In its ideal state, the first chakra brings health, prosperity, feelings of security, and a vivacious attitude toward life. However, when energy is blocked, it may result in any number of illnesses. Blocked energy in the first chakra is most often associated with problems in the:
* Colon
* Bladder
* Female or male reproductive system
* Urethra
Possible psychological problems associated with disruption in this chakra include:
* Identity problems
* Dissociative disorders
* Dependent personality disorder
The Second Chakra
Second Chakra
[ level 4.6 ] The second chakra is associated with the element of water. It is often called the sexual chakra, because sexual energy is believed to originate there. But the second chakra is much more than simply a sex chakra; it is the seat of creativity. This chakra is located at the sacrum, which is the densest bone in the spinal column. Here it is depicted visually:
When the second chakra is closed or blocked, it can make the entire person appear lifeless. A blocked second chakra can cut you off from your emotions, and you may feel removed from an interest in sexuality. On the other hand, if your second chakra is excessively open, emotions can sometimes rule your being, creating an unbalanced system overall.
Your second chakra is a level 4.6 out of 10. This means that at present, you may have minor struggles with envy and greed, but generally you aren't governed by these issues. For the most part, your second chakra energy is balanced and flowing. However, at certain moments, you may feel challenges associated with this area flare up, becoming disruptive to your energetic system. This is something you can address and improve.
Some common themes associated with problems in the second chakra are:
* Difficulty being a "good loser"
* Threatened by dependency on others
* Envy and greed dominate thinking
* Feelings of entitlement that don't necessarily correspond with actual deserved rewards
* Difficulty regulating emotions — either having no access to them or feeling overwhelmed by them
* Taking on exaggerated male or female roles
* Fear of poverty
In its ideal state, the second chakra brings a sense of fluidity, a depth of satisfaction and feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to go with the flow of life. Blocked energy in the second chakra is often associated with problems in the:
* Kidneys
* Lower back
* Pancreas
* Spleen
* Prostate gland
It is also associated with:
* Allergies
* Diabetes
* Diarrhea
* Ulcers
* Hypoglycemia
* Anemia
* Leukemia
* Premenstrual syndrome
* Sexually transmitted diseases
* Menstrual problems
* Infertility
* Vaginal infections
* Ovarian cysts
* Impotency
* Slipped disks
* Bladder infections
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Depression
* Sexual difficulties
* Borderline, narcissistic, antisocial, or histrionic personality disorders
The Third Chakra
Third Chakra
[ level 3.4 ] The third chakra is associated with the element of fire. Appropriately, it is located at the solar plexus in the sternum. Here it is depicted in the body:
The third chakra is associated with personal power. People who are empowered have high positive energy emanating from their third chakras. Knowing that you can move things forward in your life to order to learn, grow, and live well is closely related to having a clear third chakra. Individual charisma is also generated in this energetic region. Conversely, people who don't trust their own perceptions or feel confident in their own decisions may experience disruptions in this chakra.
When the third chakra is closed or blocked, it can lead to a lack of energy, fatigue, and a yearning to be quiet and shut down. During times when this chakra is blocked, confrontations with others can be very hard to initiate or even tolerate. Blockage can also lead to problems building and sustaining interpersonal relationships based on equality.
Your third chakra is a level 3.4 out of 10. This means that at this point you have access to some of your personal power, but more of it still remains untapped. Examining issues related to your third chakra could help you gain an even greater connection to this energy center.
Here are some common themes associated with problems in the third chakra:
* Inability to stand up for yourself
* Low self-esteem
* Feeling unable to make necessary life changes or to get unstuck if in a life rut
* Feeling easily overwhelmed by real or perceived obstacles in life
* Being overly self-critical
* Being highly sensitive to others' criticisms or rejection
* Preferring to not make your own decisions
* Having trouble receiving compliments
* Difficulties building respectful relationships with others
* Being easily intimidated
* Feeling like a victim
* Being resentful about having to take responsibility for others
In its ideal state, the third chakra generates a great deal of energy for meeting personal goals. It also encourages a balanced sense of self, deep self-acceptance, and self-respect. These positive feelings carry over to one's relationships with other people. Blocked energy in the third chakra has been associated with problems in the:
* Adrenal glands
* Liver
* Stomach
It is also associated with:
* Digestive difficulties
* Ulcers
* Addictions, especially to stimulants
* Arthritis
* Eating disorders
* Cancer
* Coordination problems
* Multiple sclerosis
* Obesity
* Premature aging
* Gallstones
* Pancreatic disorders
* Diabetes
* Hepatitis
* Indigestion
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Obsessive-compulsive disorder
* Uncontrollable or overwhelming anger
* Bipolar disorder or more mild but still extreme highs and lows in mood
* Insomnia
The Fourth Chakra
Fourth Chakra
[ level 1.8 ] The fourth chakra is associated with the element of air and is sometimes called the heart chakra. This is due both to its location near the heart and because of the emotions with which it is associated. Here it is depicted in the body:
The fourth chakra is associated with a gradual increasing of consciousness, as it sits between the lower three and upper three chakras. However, primarily, it is the center of unconditional love. When a person becomes disconnected from their heart and the emotions associated with this region, the fourth chakra becomes closed off. This often results in both low energy and shallow breathing. At times when you're feeling a fourth chakra blockage, you might even feel that it's difficult to breathe.
Emotionally, when this chakra is blocked, you're likely to feel wounded or victimized. Often this will be due to trying to work out past problems. People who have studied chakras liken this kind of chakra disruption to a hurt child inside of us, hashing out scenes over and over, trying to get closure on difficult events. If this kind of inner turmoil happens on an ongoing basis without relief, the overall effect can be a feeling of being stuck in the past. When the energy from the fourth chakra is disrupted, you may have trouble protecting yourself from emotional harm because you generally feel raw and emotionally vulnerable.
When the fourth chakra is open and energy is flowing positively, far different feelings result. For example, you are likely to feel open, loving, and compassionate to those around you and to be very accepting of people for who they are.
Your fourth chakra is a level 1.8 out of 10. This means that right now, your fourth chakra appears to be disrupted. As a result, you're likely to be plagued with feelings of anger about how events in your life have transpired or about what others have done to you. You also may be feeling fearful and emotionally unstable. Know that this time will pass, and that you can help yourself move to a better, more positive place by taking a look at the issues associated with your fourth chakra.
These are some common themes associated with problems in the fourth chakra:
* Feeling stuck and wounded by events from the past
* Being unable to forgive someone and holding on to the anger you have toward them
* Fear of breaking down emotionally
* Being too emotionally vulnerable
* Feeling unloved or unworthy of love
* Feeling shamed by being rejected
* Being resentful of others for the love they receive
* Extreme loneliness
* Fear of showing affection
In its ideal state, the fourth chakra will radiate love and warmth. It will help also help you feel a strong, centered connection with yourself, so that you can reach out to others with compassion and a lack of judgment. This chakra also helps you to come to new levels of self-discovery. Disrupted energy in the fourth chakra has been tied to problems in the:
* Heart
* Thymus
* Upper back
* Lung
* Shoulders
It is also associated with:
* Vascular difficulties
* High blood pressure
* Autoimmunity problems
* Heart attacks
* Enlarged heart
* Blocked arteries
* Asthma
* Emphysema
* Bronchitis
* Poor circulation
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Self-destructive behaviors
* Suicidal ideology or acts
* Trouble emotionally connecting with others
* Feeling alienated from others and in opposition to yourself
The Fifth Chakra
Fifth Chakra
[ level 4.2 ] The fifth chakra is associated with acts of communication, including speaking the truth or finding creative ways for self-expression. It is located at the base of the throat and is often called the throat chakra. Here is an illustration:
This chakra is associated with sound in general. The meaning of your own personal truth is central to this chakra. The more free-flowing the energy of this chakra, the more you are able to speak your truth without fearing the consequences — or at least without letting external forces stop you from doing it. When the throat chakra is too open, you may talk more than other people would like and may not listen closely enough.
On a different level, this chakra is also associated with personal will. When the chakra is very open, your will can be excessively strong; when it is closed, your will can seem nonexistent. However, at times when the fifth chakra is in balance, your will is aligned with divine will. During such periods, you're likely to feel that things are going your way, rather than having to fight against the current in order to reach your goals.
When your fifth chakra is disrupted, personal truths can become harder to express. You may even become afraid to speak your opinions or feel unsure about what you might say. Issues of the will can also come to the fore during these negative times. For example, you may feel that when things go wrong, others are entirely to blame and when things go right, it's solely your will that created the success. Such exaggerated and absolute thinking is often connected to disruptions in the fifth chakra.
Your fifth chakra is a level 4.2 out of 10. This means that at present, you are relatively open and free-flowing when expressing your thoughts and ideas, but there still may be a few things you're afraid to share. You may want to take some time to meditate on the issues associated with the fifth chakra. That way you can open up the flow of energy and gain even more confidence in your personal truths.
Some common themes associated with problems in the fifth chakra are:
* Fear of public speaking
* Fear of letting go
* Feelings of inner rigidity
* Fear of exposure
* Dishonesty to cover the feared truth
* Inability to say what you mean
In its ideal state, the fifth chakra gives you the energy and centering you need to speak the truth. It also helps you to make unique contributions to the world by unleashing creative, self-expressive energy. Blocked energy in the fifth chakra is sometimes associated with problems in the:
* Ear
* Lymphatic system
* Mouth and teeth
* Neck and shoulders
* Throat
* Jaw
It is also associated with:
* Hearing difficulties
* Parathyroid complications
* Thyroid problems
* Sore throat
* Jaw misalignment
* Stiff neck
* Tension headaches
* Swollen glands
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Stuttering
* Poor auditory memory
* Inability to use words for adequate self-expression
* Addiction to drugs
* Cigarette smoking
* Alcohol overuse
The Sixth Chakra
Sixth Chakra
[ level 4.6 ] The sixth chakra is associated both with light and with psychic abilities. This chakra provides a source of inner knowing, as well as an objective reflection of how things are. By being focused on a commitment to the truth and flexibility of thought, people with clear sixth chakras usually have a sense of life's realities that surpasses usual conscious barriers. For this reason, the sixth chakra is connected with higher levels of wisdom and a level disposition. It is located between the eyebrows. Here it is depicted in the body:
When this chakra is closed or blocked, you may have trouble seeing the big picture of events that are unfolding in your life. The truth of matters can be dwarfed in details, and you may become easily confused. At times like these, you can sometimes overlook the subtler forces in any situation because you're so busy giving attention to literal details. You may also find that you have a tendency to judge people and events pretty harshly.
Your sixth chakra is a level 4.6 out of 10. This means that at this point in time, you usually see the forest for the trees. However, you're still likely to have times when stress disrupts your energy and impedes your usually realistic perspective. You could gain more clarity during difficult times by taking some time to work on this chakra.
Here are some common themes associated with problems in the sixth chakra:
* Trouble putting things into perspective
* Lack of strategic thinking; inability to see the forest for the trees
* Inability to pick up on intuitive or psychic information
* Being highly focused on concrete, linear thinking
* Confusion and clouded thinking
* Fear of self-examination and the unknown
* Emotional denial
* Insecurity over others' skills
* Being slow to learn from life experiences
It's also interesting to note that when someone's sixth chakra is too open, they can become so geared toward generalities and the big picture that they become unable to focus on a project's details to complete it. Also, a very open sixth chakra can lead to receiving too much psychic information so that one is overwhelmed by it.
In its ideal state, the sixth chakra brings you insight and helps you see both the big picture of a situation and its important details. By providing perspective, this chakra helps balance and prioritize the issues of your daily life. It can also provide access to psychic information. On the other hand, blocked energy in the sixth chakra is associated with problems in the:
* Face
* Eyes
* Central nervous system
* Brain
* Head
* Sinuses
* Pineal
* Pituitary
It is also associated with:
* Headaches
* Cancer, especially brain tumors
* Visual problems
* Blindness
* Deafness
* Neurological disorders
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Extreme confusion
* Inability to focus
* Either lack of intelligence or access to it
* Being hooked on fantasy
* Paranoia
* Poor visual memory
* Psychoses
* Schizophrenia
The Seventh Chakra
Seventh Chakra
[ level 4.2 ] The seventh chakra is associated with thought. It signifies our relationship to all things and the unity of everything. This chakra also symbolizes self-knowledge and spiritual consciousness. It is located at the crown of the head, but it is connected with the entire muscular system, the skeletal system, the skin, and nervous system. Here it is depicted in the body:
The seventh chakra is associated with a more profound spiritual connectedness than the other six chakras are. This chakra is the seat of higher wisdom and the energy that comes from it. The seventh chakra is thought to give access to the infinite intelligence that exists in the universe and is our key to opening the door to it. This chakra allows for self-expression on higher spiritual levels and is associated with the pineal gland, the gland that produces visions in dreams. When asking the question, "Who am I, really?" you are tapping into the energy of your seventh chakra.
When this chakra is closed or blocked, you can feel cut off from spirituality. At such times, your relationship with the divine becomes limited, and fears of the spiritual side of life can be magnified. Disruptions in your seventh chakra can also amount to the inability to gain closure on unfinished business. Such problems have the potential to end up as a real thorn in your side. Most of all, lack of flow in your seventh chakra leads to an inability to live in the present. People with blocked seventh chakra energy seem to always be either revisiting their past or looking ahead to the future.
Your seventh chakra is a level 4.2 out of 10. This means that by and large, you are able to live in the present, but you also have your share of spiritual questioning and self-doubt. By looking inside yourself and the issues below, you can seek out a better balance in your seventh chakra and your faith overall.
Some common themes associated with problems in the seventh chakra are:
* Always focusing on the past or the future
* Being continually unhappy with the present state of your life
* Believing that life has no meaning
* Feeling cut off from all things spiritual
* Clinging to unfinished business from the past
* Fearing true self-knowledge
In its ideal state, the seventh chakra brings a joy and a deep faith that everything happens for a reason. A person with pure, positive energy in their seventh chakra will feel harmony with everything and will be able to tap into the greater wisdom of the universe. Blocked energy in the seventh chakra has been associated with problems such as:
* Brain tumors
* Cancer
* Epilepsy
* Migraines
* Parkinson's disease
* Pituitary problems
Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:
* Multiple personalities
* Nightmares
* Memory problems
The seven bodies
As you've learned, chakras are sources of energy in your body, each corresponding to a different physical region. However, the physical body is not all you're made of. In fact, many believe that there are seven layers of energy that make up your presence here on earth. Those layers are:
* Physical body — This is the only body that can be viewed without clairvoyant abilities. It can be seen and felt. This is the densest of the seven bodies and is the one through which you most actively interact with the world.
* Emotional body — This is the entity you use to both express and feel emotions, including the feeling of divine love.
* Mental body — This body corresponds to the source of your thinking and reasoning. Abstract thinking, creativity, logical reasoning, and philosophy are housed here.
* Intuitional/compassionate body — This is the source of compassion and is a vehicle for expressing higher forms of love. This body is beyond the restrictions of time and space. It allows you to understand things without having to reason through them first.
* Will/Spirit body — This body is the vehicle for your spirit to express itself. This is essentially your spiritual will. It carries both the potentials for great positivity and great negativity. It influences how you make decisions.
* Soul body — This is a more abstract body, not subject to the normal restrictions of humanness; it can provide guidance for the person from a soul level.
* Divine body — This is the highest of the seven bodies. It is where your connection to the divine lies. The divine body provides us with the means to feel the presence of a higher power in ourselves and to feel oneness with all things.
Each of your seven chakras affects and is affected by these bodies. Interactions can be complex because each of the chakras has a specific location on each of the seven bodies. The book Kundalini and the Chakras discusses each of the chakras on the different bodies and gives information about how each chakra-body combination affects you. More information about these combinations can also be found in The Book of Chakras: Discover the Hidden Forces within You.
Balancing your chakras
When your chakras are balanced, they are neither too open nor blocked. With practice, you can learn to willingly open or close your chakras, depending on events and how you want to feel. This section gives suggestions on how to:
* Change your chakra state to make it relatively more closed or open
* Clear chakra blockages
* Pursue activities that will help your chakras
Note that some people believe working with the chakras can be dangerous and should only be done carefully once you become well informed about the powers of Kundalini energy. Kundalini energy is a powerful energy that is coiled at the base of the spine when dormant. However, when roused — by doing these exercises, for example — you may have an excess of energy to manage. With that caution in mind, consider taking small steps toward changing your chakras. Keep an eye on how you physically and mentally respond to the process.
To be most cautious, start at the top of your head and move downward when you're doing exercises or focusing on chakras. This is a good idea because your Kundalini energy is located around the root chakra. By focusing on your root or first chakra last, you'll have cleared the upper chakras and will be more able to handle the Kundalini energy released from your first chakra.
Changing chakra states
As has been mentioned throughout this report, when your chakras are too open or too blocked, problems can occur. For example, if your fourth chakra is very open and you're going into a classroom to take an exam, you might find yourself distracted from the task at hand. Instead, in a testing situation, you might consciously want to focus on opening your sixth chakra. This can help you increase the clarity of your mind. To follow are five steps to help you change the state of any of your seven chakras:
Step 1: Locate the area of the chakra you want to work with. Sense the chakra's energy as it is right now.
Step 2: Place your hand in that area of your body. Pay close attention to the physical sensations in that area.
Step 3: Visualize the energy around your chakra. What color is it? How large an area does it cover? Is it radiating out, pulling energy in, or feeling disjointed or free-flowing?
Step 4: Now visualize how you want it to be. When chakras are functioning optimally they will have circular energy, like a "wheel of light," which is the Sanskrit meaning for the word chakra. You may want to start simply by visualizing the area of the chakra energy as bigger or smaller than it is.
Step 5: Next, try visualizing your chakra in other ways. See it bigger or smaller, flowing in or flowing out. Practice with how these things feel. Then you can use your reactions as a guide to determine the best state for your chakra given the feelings you're trying to achieve.
Clearing chakra blockages
There are many ways to clear your chakras. Some healers can clear blockages using their hands or through their mental or spiritual powers. However, you don't have to seek out professional help in order to clear your chakras. You can clear blockages yourself by visualizing flowing energy out of the chakra that is blocked, thereby dissolving whatever is in the way of its optimal functioning.
Another way to clear chakras is to visualize light coming through your body. Lay down on the floor with your spine as straight and unstrained as possible and imagine a sheet of light that is very across your whole body. Starting at the top of your head, visualize this sheet of light moving slowly through the regions of your body. Imagine that this light is breaking up negative energy in your body and preparing it for removal.
Once you've covered your whole body and reached your feet, you're ready to remove the debris that this exercise produced. Starting at the floor, imagine another layer of light that is specifically designed to absorb negative particles. Move this long sheet of light from the floor, rising upward until it has cleared your whole body. Each time it encounters negative energy particles that were loosened by the previous step, it carries it out of the body. Once that particle is outside of the body, the sheet absorbs this negative energy.
Pursuing activities that will help your chakras
There are many types of exercises that can help your chakras. In fact, a wide variety of physical exercise will help to move your energy around. However, some muscle-building exercise can tend to clump energy in particular places. If you're looking to clear chakra energy, consider trying yoga, tai chi, or qigong. All of these practices help to release energy from your body and get your chakra energy flowing freely again.
Another type of movement that can help to keep your chakras balanced and flowing is free-form dancing. You may need to do this movement in private, but either way you should find the time and space to listen to an uplifting song, or something that resonates deep within you, and let your body move as it will to the music. Do not think about how it will look to someone else on the outside. Instead, focus on how your body feels and focus on truly expressing what you are feeling, throughout all seven bodies. Such creative expression is beneficial to all seven of your chakras.
History behind the test
The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and is meant to mean a disk of light. This term has also come to describe the seven power centers of the human body. It's believed that chakras are reflective of a person's psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being, as well as being tied to the physical health of particular areas of the body. It's been said that chakras carry and direct energy flow in the body. As a result, some people feel that blocked energy in one's chakras can create serious health problems, ranging from cancer to sexual dysfunction to heart problems. Disruptions in the chakra energy have also been associated with various mental disorders.
Historical data indicates that healers have worked with chakras and the body's energy systems for thousands of years. It is from those practitioners and people who have experienced benefits first hand that chakras' validity continues to be accepted. Chakra work, when one unblocks the flow of energy from particular chakras, came into being long before people had statistical methods to evaluate claims about its effectiveness. However, the continued popularity of this healing tool stands as testimony to its usefulness.
To turn the study of individuals' chakras into something measurable and testable, Tickle's research team created an extensive survey to gain information from thousands of Tickle members. Survey themes included a broad variety of questions, each associated with one of the seven chakras. After distilling survey information, Tickle psychologists created the Chakra Test using the questions found to most reliably assess the seven energy centers. Each of the Chakra Test's dimensions was created to determine which of an individual's chakras are in balance and which may need attention. By comparing test takers with one another, Tickle's testing method is able to spot markedly high or low disruption in any one of an individual's chakras. We hope you find this to be a useful tool for your own self exploration.
Album..
i was playing around with friendster and discovered a feature where i could upload pictures like facebook.. so i decided to try it out.. here are the results to that... Sayaka's Album to me.. it's still not as good as facebook.. cause if i recall, you have to upload one by one.. sigh.. but anywya. don't know if you can enter it without a frienster account or not.. but give it a try... it's jsut some random photos from this year, which i think has already been shown on the blog.. cause as i said.. i was just testing the feature haha..
ermm currently stressed over my written work, so if possible PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB ME UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!! that said.. sorry to say it even applies to family, unless you want me to snap at you, or unless you fancy cure and short replies... it's better not to disturb me... i don't do it on purpose, but when i m annoyed that's how i reply.. sorry to anyone that i have offended... sigh.. all my pimples coming out...i used to get white hair when i was stressed.. now it's pimples.. in a way i guess it's better than white hair, cause pimples subside faster than you hair can grow out...
for my dad's info.. the progess on my written work is going ok to me.. i had a structure out eons ago.. but writing 14 pages on freedom of contract, is starting to seem like an insane idea to me after all.. but still plausbile... hahha... to the curious people... this is my written work essay...
[Contract Law]
“The theory of ‘freedom of contract’ claims that the courts passively enforce the intentions of the parties. In reality, however, the law of contract gives the courts so much discretion to do what is fair and reasonable between the parties, that the theory is far removed from practice.”
Discuss the accuracy of this statement.
Preliminary reading: J. Adams and R. Brownsword, Understanding Contract Law (Sweet and Maxwell, 2004, 4th ed).
well i have to gambatte.. will get back down to work now... went for my walk into the woods again.. and yet again.. discovered a small little part of the woods in reading.. it was dryer that time and easier to explore than last time.. i even saw wild rabbits!! haha kawaii...
You:never:know.....
"depression is an art i need not learn... i'm a pro...."
you never know what is going on, what is with this world and what is with the people....
you seriously never know what people want, when i'm nice, you people say one thing, when i'm mean you guys say another thing, there is no pleasing you, either way i can't get away from it, so why give a damn? just do what i want, as long as i am happy. it doesn't matter anymore right?live your life the way you want to. to hell with the motto "i'm fine with anything, as long as you are happy" screw it, why must i give a damn whether you are happy?? what about my own happiness?? do you even give a damn? putting on a smile on the outside, while inside i m all torn up.. at times i just feel like telling the world to just bugger off...
when you are nice to people, they don't appreciate it, step all over you, make use of you. tell me how many of you people feel appreciated or actually bother to appreciate people? if you do appreciate people, do you know how to show it? i doubt it. everyone has these kind of feelings at a certain point, so what is our natural defense? to be mean? you protect yourself emotionally like that. or to withdraw and be a loner? that way you don't have to deal with people's shit to start with. i never really knew what hate or dislike ever was.. now? i m getting the idea...
sometimes i wonder why do we even bother to form bonds? it seems so meaningless, we form bonds to feel loved and appreciated, but how many of us really feel that way? no one is perfect, there are times where we do feel discontented, but i feel it's all pointless, and i have no one suitable to help me change that view....
humans are selfish creatures by nature, why do the altruistic ones exist? it just gets so tiring to be surrounded by people, at times i think its better off being alone.
it's sad, helping people whenever you can, but when you need help, no one is there....fairweather friends is what we call them... how i want and all weather friend right now....where are you when i need you?? it's really a case of out of sight, out of mind isn't it?
that's why i say you never know what the world throws back at you. all you can do is continue to hold your head up and go on walking.. it sucks.. but that... sad to say.. is life.... you get shit like this sometimes.. so deal with it....
i need another walk in the woods to cheer me up =.=
Chinese New Year in London...
from the 17th till the 19th of febuary 2007 i was in london, to celebrate chinese new year with my aund and uncle and cousins.
my cousin who is working in london, told me her parents were coming for CNY and asked me to go up to london to celebrate it with them.. so that was what i did.. i left on the morning of the 17th with paul, who was a really good friend and helped me as much as possible before going off to his friends, hope i didn't make him late.. thanks paul!! it was my second time to london, and this time i had to be alone, so he was nice enough to help me get an oyster card and all.. sweet ya? haha.. but after that,i was kind of ok, cause i always go down to pasar seni, KL by myself, so i was ok, armed with a tube map, and some instructions from paul on how to get to liverpool street, i was on my own. it wasn't that hard, since the last time when i went to london with jian lun, i kind of got a hang of the trains.. so it was ok.. :) no sweat..
anywya i stayed at my cousin's place from the 17th till the 19th, she lived really near the station, so my uncle and aunt came to pick me up and bring me back to her place..
here i am with my aunt, my uncle took the picture.. i wasn't ready yet...so doesnt really look like i'm smiling.. this was in the living room of my cousin's place..
my cousin brought us to see tower hill, where the crown jewels are.. haha this is the outside..
my aunt took this picture.. it was like a suprise shot, but i managed to smile in time for this one haha
my uncle, aunt, and i, inside tower hill..
only me.. with the scenery behind.. see the bridge hehe
just a view, in the background we have canary wharf... hunter v canary wharf anyone? haha for the non law people, it's a tort case on nuisance, a popular case... and important case for exams :p
as we were walking to tower hill, we passed by this, no idea waht it was, but it looked interesting so i just took a snap of it..
the outer part of tower hill..
my cousin, mag and i...
my aunt and ai inside tower hill,near the entrance, we were witha guide, but there were so many people, and we were behind, and being short little asians didn't help either.. so we can't hear, can't see.. so we took pictures hehe
on of the buildings in tower hill
err.. guard? what did they call them??? errr... wardens or something.. damn can't remember... arghhh
aunt and i posing near a sentry guard.. i think that's what they were called.. the poor guy had a lace untied on his boot, but he can't tie it back until his shift is over....
me again....
jsut the view... inside tower hill, apaprently people who work there really do stay in those buildings in the background..
the model of tower hill
posing...
the bridge behind me... it's not london bridge.. i think it was.. tower bridge??
here we are at my cousin's future in-law's apartment.. it was a nice place, we had steam boat here..there is from left, my uncle, aunt, my cousin;mag, my other cousin; shawn, me, my cousin's cousin; sorry can't remember her name.. from canada, and behind her there is my cousin's fiance; glenn, and his parents.. my cousin's fiance sister was the one taking this picture hahha... nice description i have for this pic hahah
the next day we didn't really go anywhere, we went to a place near bays water to a malaysian restaurant caleld C&R i think... it's the same one i went to last time i was in london for dinner with xian ai and jian lun.. different branch though, and this one feels more like a restaurant.. it was the same people there, plus my cousin's fiance's sister and her boyfriend.. and we had yee sang there haha.. like the proper one we have at home.. and we had nice malaysian food.. and they treated me to ice kacang as well.. yumm! they are a nice bunch of people..
but that lunch took us nearly 3 hours plus to eat.. service was so slow, but we were stuffed, wanted to go to china town to meet up with xian ai and my hall mates, but mel said not to come since anastasia's bag got slashed.. she was fine, nothng stolen.. but she said that there were a lot of people, and since i hated crowds, it was better not to go..
and well, on the way to harrods, while taking the tube from bayswater, i bumped into the other malaysians on the elevator at teh station haha.. i remember seeing mimi, esther, weili and chelle, apparently there were more people, but it was kind hard to see, so many people haha.. it was kind of nice haha, i was going down ,they were going up, and we passed each other... felt like some korean drama like that haha..
in the night, my cousin brought us to harrods and she bought those donuts (Crispy Creme).. they are apparently very popular, and they were yummy as well haha.. after going to harrods we headed back to liverpool street.
they were not really people who seemed to like to take pictures, so besides the pictures i had at tower hill there isn't anymore. felt kind of pai seh if like i took a picture of every dish they serve at the restaurant hehe...
anywya, spent another night at my cousin's and left the next morning back to reading.. :)
this year for chinese new year i was not in malaysia.. and well this being a foreign country who does not celebrate it, we didn't have the festive feel for it.. so the Reading University Malaysian and Singaporean Association aka RUMSA held a chinese new year reunion dinner at hong hong restaurant in reading town centre.. the restaurant was apparently run by people from malaysia.. the food.. was ok- by our standards... and well.. so it was just another gathering for us.. ;p i'll let the pictures tell the story... they say a picture says a thousand words haha.. and well.. ya.. i'm too lazy to say anything, besides with pictures.. there isn't anything else to say.. :p
we really are like camera whores.. anyway... seated from left is ca-ryn, nu'ri, christine, wendy and me, standing from left, melissa chin, mimi, derrick, jason and aiyee..
that's why i say we are cam whores.. do you know how many pictures we take at each funciton we have??!! and it's a lot of people cameras..well one reason why my posts are late, is cause i keep forgetting my camera lately, and even when i do, i still have to collect pictures left right and centre.. so it takes me time... :p people that have not been introduced.. from right, after melissa chin, is jyy mei and vivian, on the left is brian.. the rest... you all know who is who la.. refer above :p
from left after mel is yue lin.. err the rest... have already been introduced.. so red.. hehe... this is what we call chinese new year hehe
ladies in red... chelle, weili and me :)
my hair looks weird... =.=' i had it curled.. but because mel and xian ai went to town, i had no one to help me.. and well, i did it myself... not very pretty.. it's so hard to do it yourself....
Moscow Circus!!
十五日二月二00七年:木曜日
on the 15th of febuary, we went to the moscow state circus, which was... from russia i think, xian ai and some of my hall mates managed to get free tickets for it.. so since it was free... and i've never been to a circus before... i think.. haha.. so we all went to check it out.. reminded me a lot of those acrobatic performances we used to see in china...
one of the tricks, tilt head left... as i said before.. i tried to tilt them already.. i don't know why they are like that...
we each bought a souvenier... hehhe
we met vinyee and jackie there, seems they got free tickets as well.. anywya.. don't need to intro anymore right?... lazy ler..
another trick...
the acrobats at about the end of the show..
Valentine's day...
this is a super long over due post, one reason being that, lately the university connection has been super crappy and slow and well i've been busy, and had no mood to blog, thus all those "filler" posts.. naruto and bleach has filler episodes, i have filler posts haha.. anyway..
on valentine's day, we swinging singles decided to go to the student union to celebrate, a bunch of malaysians and my hall mates, we all went... it was my first time in the 360, the last time during casablanca night we were only in one part of the 360, this time it's the whole thing, which is kinda good? cos each part was playing different kinf of music.. not being a fan of R&B like the rest of the malaysians, i spent most of the night at the part which was playing... yup, you guessed it, pop music.. now that is my kind of music hahaha.. was a fun night, though sadly i missed out on a lot of oppurtunities to cam whore.. but what the heck haha.. so there are only like 3 pictures here... :p
we were leaving early, i think cause the next day we had something on? can't remember, i only remembered that we left early, and well we were tired.. here we have mel, derrick and i..
xian ai, aiyee and i :P
me, sarah, aiyee, mimi aka michelle lim, and melissa... it was quite a nice night...
