Comp:arison

when i first came to bridges.. i was like such a pitiful creature.. with nothing much in the room... only some meagre stuff, it seemed cold and empty.... but.. compare... hahaha

my room then when i first arrived in September, well could say it was October already then... and now, when i am about to leave it to go back to Malaysia for my Christmas holidays.. ie two months after living in it... :p

btw the pictures taken in October were by my camera, which is gone now.. so the pictures now are taken by my hand phone.. its only 2 mega pixels.. compared to my 6 mega pixels camera... anyway.. errmm some of them were taken in a weird angle, cause of the phone.. and i did try.. for some of them to tilt them to correct way haha.. anyway tilt ur head when needed.. gives u some neck exercise after sitting in front of the computer the whole day.. and also.. maybe a little laugh like it gave me :p

then... this was the view of my room the moment you entered the door...

now... looks like got a bit more stuff only la haha.. the first pic wasn't taken very well also.. it was covering the room more.. the second pic, due to the door.. i took my table more.. and well there is a significant change of stuff.. like the magnets on my shelves.. and folders... etc..

my food drawwer when i got here.. full of stuff.. junk food etc..

now... sigh.. empty laio.. ate everything.. my instant noodles went to my sister.. my tandori chicken all cooked liao.. my milo.. all drank liao... ;p
time to go back and stock up!!!

my cupboard then.. like so little clothes. that the top shelf is used to store my stuff like toilet roll etc...
more clothes? hahah.. no ler.. bout the same amount.. the only thing i bought here was a dress for the snowball.. which i think i have to update about next month when i come back to UK with broadband.. cos uploading those pictures in Malaysia will be a killer.. anyway.. either than the dress... errmm an Oxford university sweat shirt haha.. n 2 sweaters from my sister.. not much clothings ler.. :p

since my top shelf is no longer used to stock stuff.. i finally made use of the cupboard above my cupboard hahah.. to stock all my stuff.. so much stuff ya?? haha.. all necessities ler... my umbrella cacat laio... ==

full of stuff.. before the start of classes...

the examination pads have been moved onto the table.. the tarot card into my luggage bag... haha.. so it looks a bit empty now... ;p

looks so bare??

well usually its even more full with stuff.. like my wires for the mp3 player etc.. this was taken after I've already packed, so it looks kind of empty... this drawer is where i keep the stuff tat i use most... so its always open.. pen drive etc.. all in here usually....

the ever so bare table... the ever bare shelves...

so many things behind it now haha.. look at my exam pads behind the computer haha i got magazine holders to hold all my stuff :p
ah the bottle of wine was when i was having my sore throat.. this picture was taken quiet earlier on :p

my shelves and table don look so bare now do they?? ahha

my dustbin.. full of rubbish haha

the floor then.... with all the stuff on the floor.. i m quite the klutz.. and trip easily...

so now i keep the floor clear of stuff.. ahha

so sad.. and ugly... and empty....too many things alread la.. stick this one where leh? haha

my towel used to hang on the window cos i hv no where else to hang it.. then i found a hook like thing.. and hung my towel near my notice board...
so now i hang my coat!! haha.. well i dunno y, but this coat kind of smells == but oh well.. i guess cos it always gets damp from the rain, sicne my umbrella is useless, so i hang it there.. and when i took this pic.. i just washed this coat... :p

my cupboard door and the back of my door.. are like so bare... when i first got here...

cute little doggie poster now sits on my cupboard door hahah

and i attached a hook on the back of my door to hang stuff.. so handy... now at least i don't have to keep putting my bathrobe on my bed and sleep with it, you know., the Japanese people last time used to spread a kimono on top their blanket when they sleep? i was doing that... cis.. stupid bridges didn't give me a hook.. i had to go and buy.. then i scared if i screw it in they will fine me for damaging their property.. so i had to get the double sided strong adhesive.. celaka bridges..

my sink in October...and now.. not much difference, except that i don't hang my loofah there any more...

i couldn't find the October pictures for the view outside my window.. i now i loaded it before.. but the change is.. the tree was once green haha

the trees also.. the picture is 180 degrees off...
my bed then.. i didn;'t have the door hook yet, so i had to put my bathrobe on the bed ==
not much changes with my bed .. except now that i put the coffee table next to the bed, with my filter jug of water, and my cup.. i get thirsty at night.. cos it can get dry...

new addition.. haha.. map of Malaysia, got this from the tourism Malaysia office in London.. didn't know what to do with it, and since i had some curious friends.. so i put it up haha..

the world map next to my door :p real nice poster.. and at least i know where my friends are from :p

so that's all for the comparison.. i guess this is my last post for the time being in the uk.. when i go back to Malaysia.. expect posts with a lot of writing again.. cause uploading pictures in Malaysia is hell.. if you can't wait and would like to see some pictures.. go to my facebook.. you can look for me under my name..

to bridges hall and the UK!! goodbye to your:
1. god damn cloggy shower stall,
2. your lousy hall food..
3. unhygienic toilets,
4. dirty pantry,
5. noisy inconsiderate asses
6. slow inefficient service
7. worms that come out when it rains..
.............for a month == hahaha

and well will miss all the friends i made here, and the weather that makes me feel like the air-conditioning in on 24/7 hahah... wait for me, i'll be back!!

so that's all for the time being it's 2am and i have to sleep cause am waking up for breakfast, to say bye to my friends.. missed dinner twice due to dance practise ==

and at 11 bout there la.. am heading to the airport :p

nites, take care, and see you all in January....

Hands:Down

here is a story i got of melissa's blog.. i like the story, and i so i got her permission under .s3(1)CDPA (1988) (got this from mel.. looks like she studied her intellectual property ahha) to put this here to share with everyone else haha.. enjoy..

Hands Down
by Artemis Obscure (aka Mel)

It was just one of those days.

You'd never think that it was special or anything. It was one of those days when Fall was slowly, but surely giving way to Winter. It was also one of those windy days, that blew, quite strongly. Strong enough to send the last remnants of the leaves that clung on stubbornly to the almost bare trees, swirling to the ground.

It was under on of those trees where we stood. Or rather, where I stood, whilst he chased around madly under it.

Until today, I never really knew why I allowed him to come with me. It was ridiculous. Here I was, nineteen, cold and running utterly late for class, and I still stood there, shivering a bit, watching him, time after time again, try to catch one of those falling autumn leaves. He had offered to walk with me to my class on the other side of campus, and I had said yes. We had just walked, silently, and then, the next thing I knew, the wind started blowing, and he had just smiled broadly, and dashed off to the nearest tree, and tried to catch the falling leaves.

I think that part of me knew the real reason why I just stood there, just looking at him catch the leaves. The answer I kept locked away at the back of my head, with the rest of the useless feelings that I really didn't need.

He came up to me, his face pink from running around. I couldn't help smiling. He just had that effect on people. “What are you doing?” I asked. “You're acting like an idiot.”

He smiled back. “Catching the leaves.”

“I can see that. What for?”

He shrugged nonchalantly. “It's just something that I do every autumn. There's an old saying that in autumn, if you manage to catch a falling leaf before it touches the ground, you'll get a day of happiness.”

“If that's the case, if people would just stand under a tree all day till they managed to catch 365 leaves,” the cynical side of me said. “They then won't need to work for the rest of the year because they have enough happiness to last them till next autumn.”

“Perhaps,” he said. “I've got seven so far, so looks like I'll have a week of happiness at least.” he held up the dried oak leaves. “You should try it also.”

“Me?” I asked, surprised, but the next thing I knew, he had grabbed my wrist and hauled me to under the tree.

“Go on,” he called out encouragingly, as a fresh gust of wind blew. “Try to catch some!”

And I did. It was not as easy as I had thought it to be. Those leaves, flickered close enough for me to touch, but not to catch. It was as if my happiness had suddenly decided, on a whim, to be elusive, and to stay out of my reach. There were so many times, when my fingertips had nearly caught a leaf, but then it suddenly just flew out of my grasp. But it didn't seem to matter, for I was laughing hard, and so was he, and it somehow seemed we were laughing at each other and at ourselves, as we ran around in circles, trying to catch some happiness for ourselves.

“I'll never be able to catch it,” I panted breathlessly to him, as I sank to the ground at last. “Maybe it's just my luck that I'll never be happy,” that was added jokingly.

He had snatched another leaf from the air as it floated down. “I have twenty eight,” he said. “Why don't I just give you half of my leaves, and we could both have a fortnight's worth of happiness.”

I laughed, and swatted playfully at him, which he managed to dodge. “Shut up you idiot,” I told him. “It's alright.” I got up and brushed the dirt of my jeans before I noticed the time.

“I'm really late for my class now,” I said. “I have to go!”

“Wait,” he said suddenly.

“What?” I responded impatiently.

He had come up beside me, and was staring intently at my head. I shivered, though not from the cold as he reached out and touched my hair lightly, teasing the strands apart. He was standing close enough, that I could feel his heat seeping into my jacket and to smell his cologne. Somehow, I kept imagining, over, and over again, him doing this to me, almost permanently. And I didn't quite want it to end.

“Here it is,” he said, after what felt like eternity.

“Oh,” I said.

He took my hand and pressed something into my palm. “Here it is, and it's honestly better than nothing. So keep it safe. And, I think that you're late for class, aren't you?”

I was, so we ran together, side by side all the other way across campus. I was half and hour late for class that day, but I hardly heard the scathing comment from my lecturer as I entered in. my mind kept reeling back, over and over again, thinking about the dried leaf that he had plucked from my hair just now, and how that I was clenching it tightly in my hand, as if the happiness for the rest of my life depended on that tiny, withered, brown leaf.

Perhaps, I thought that night, as I (as if not by my own actions) put the leaf in my journal. Perhaps, I had used up all the happiness that my leaf had to offer that day. But then again, perhaps, that little bit of happiness could last longer than I hoped it could.

And it did. Those feelings never quite left me, no matter what. He later started going out with a friend of mine later, despite my initial disappointment, and later acceptance, I grew to see how they complemented each other in every way, and how much they both cared for each other. Even later still, they got married in their final year, and had a baby together shortly after. And I loved him even more for that.

The leaf in my journal has now withered to pieces, and I have thrown it away. But since that day, I have always taken the time, to try and catch at least one leaf, that falls from a tree during autumn. Because, you'd never really know, that one short day of happiness would have lasted so long.

~end

that's the end of the story :p credit goes to mel chan for writing such a romantic story with a song stuck in her head haha.. if you wish to give her comments, please go to her blog, which is linked to mine.. :p

anyway my first shot of absinthe... made by my sister.. :p

i think this is my second shot of absinth hahah

Here it is, ready to be drunk, Bohemian (Czech) Style!! Where you put some sugar on the spoon, set it on fire, blow it out, stir and drink.. The video is on Youtube, just type oracle 8606 and absinthe to find it :)

at the Karlstejn castle again.. sorry the pictures aren't arranged.. or whatever, i simply uploaded them..

wah.. so big la the pumpkin.. and smelly too hahah, it was in the castle's courtyard, my first time seeing such a big pumpkin :p

view of the castle again ahha

castle door..

we din go in.. sounded like they were torturing ppl in there hahhaa

the view of Karlstejn castle from afar...

posing haha, the scenery is beautiful...

this is in the black light theatre, before the show started.. the play was basically about this guy who sold his soul to the devil to get power, and errr i think knowledge as well.. but in the end he repented and got saved... not bad.. was quite nice haha.. and the effects and all were superb ahha.. a good experience..

Pra:gue 2

this is the second instalment of pictures.. errmm am kind of lazy to like label them all... as my eyes already hurt from trying to sort out the pictures i want from 288 pictures.. so don't mind my laziness...

this was at the black light theatre.. all flashers, molesters & rapist should have this coming on to them muahhaha
in the church of our Lady Victorious (Kostel P. Marie Vitezne)... which houses a 45cm high waxwork figure of the baby Jesus, called The Infant of Prague (Bambino di Praga: Italian; Praske Jezulatko: Czech)..

Well if you can make the figure out? =.=' it's the little silver thing between the candles...

in front of the church...

this (i think) is the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary & Charlemagne (Kostel P. Marie a sv. Karla Velikeho), which was situated in the Karlov District, further ahead from the Michnuc Summer Palace (Michnuv Letohradek), but we didn't enter the Summer Palace, it was closed? i think??

The church seemed to be placed in a sort of castle, as it was surrounded by all four corners with buildings about 3 storey tall... like a courtyard of sorts...

inside the church...

is it real gold???!! muahahha splendidly beautiful...

outside of the church..
the castle's (?) courtyard..

on Charles bridge...

posing on Charles bridge..

There are a lot of these peddlers on the bridge... and well i'm there holding the souvenirs that i got for myself and my friends in Malaysia :)

Peace...

err.. can't rmbr what this is.. but i think its some building before we got onto Charles bridge.. The old town bridge tower (staromestska mostecka vez)??

On the bridge..

The View from the bridge..

This is their Court of law (i think).. Here we were actually in Lesser Town Square...

A classic car... Used for joy rides with the right fee.. (Still in Lesser Town Square, if I recall correctly...)

in front of horse carriage, eating something which is supposedly a sort of biscuit from the traditional period..

This Statue is in the middle of the old town square (staromestke nam)...

The Tyn Churchm as viewed from the old town square (staromestke nam)

in front of the famous astronomical clock, which is located at the old town hall.. it was such a scam... stood there, and all we saw were like dolls.. shaking left and right.. cis.. celaka..

Posing in front of the clock.. despite the scam, it's architecture was really worth going there for..
the so called traditional biscuit thingie.. tastes like sugar and cinnamon not bad..

The Tyn church...

This wall/window was beside the astronomical clock..

The Astronomical clock..

this is in the old town square (staromestske nam
)
I suspect the picture above is part of the New Town Hall (Novomestska radnice).....

The Municipal House (Obecni Dum) of the capital city Prague, a social and cultural centre deemed the most beautiful Art Nouveau building in Prague, built between 1905-11, the most popular music halls in Prague, the spacious Smetana Hall is housed here, they have orchestras and chamber concerts here, costing about 17 euros i think.. I regret not watching a orchestra in Prague, since it is one of the land for music...

this was like a so called the toll plaza last time when they were still on horses and carriages... the structure had real gold on it, it's called Jindrisska Tower, a late Gothic Bell tower built in 1472-76, renewed in Gothic style in 1879

I can't remember why i took this, nor what it is...

This is the same place as the above picture..

some church we were walking pass...

Another angle of the Jindrisska Tower.....

below are random pictures taken, while walking around the town..

This is near Crown Palace (i think), Kind of like the Shopping place, i think...

this my friend is a toilet.. insert the money and the door opens for u to do ur business.. had a bad experience fr the same type of toilet in china...
