未来が見える is 10 years old!! :: Happy 10th Birthday! A Reflection of 10 years.

*This was a scheduled post, and was written before 16 October 2015, hence the reason why it still sounds so upbeat. I've amended it a little only to reflect the current situation, but left almost all of it as initially drafted.*

I just realized, but 31 October 2015, marks the 10th Anniversary of my blog. 10 years!

What a long way I have come, since then.

I apparently started this blog on 31st October 2005, whilst I was in my first year of Law School / University.

(I know for a fact that I meddled with the date of the first post, so this blog's actual birthday is either before or after that date, but I can't remember the exact date - so let's all just forget bout that technicality here lol)

The design of this blog is thanks to ccymie who kindly designed the current outline of the blog in 2007 according to my specifications, and I have not been inclined to change the design at all all this years. (Though if and when he has the time I may need some help with some html codes on the sidebar for outdated apps.)

The theme for the blog, being "Flow" where I chose water as the main premise, since water is ever changing, and conforms to whatever container you put it in; it can be gentle and it can be cruel; it's unpredictable.

Which, is in line with this blog's main focus of being unable to see what the future will bring us i.e. I still stay by the theme of this blog that the 'future is unpredictable'; and that the 'fight to rise once again' is till ongoing as a daily battle. But that's a different story for maybe another day, and/or different audience.

While due to work commitments I had became less active over the years in posting anything at all.

Since I rather spend my spare time catching up on my sleep or other things than racking my brains thinking about posting anything. I've honestly also become more reserved about what I want to share online with people who know me, and what I would like to share with strangers, if any, do read what I write.

I also went through a lot career wise. My direct superior and senior left the team at the same time i.e. in April 2011, forcing a 3 man team into a 1 man team, with the same amount of workload, if not more. Hence the lack of posts from that duration on wards. I did write intermittently during that tough time, so maybe I will retrieve what I wrote and post them later. Those will be backdated though, I think..

And also due to some ex acquaintances, who for a lack of a better word were nosy, stalking, gossip mongers, I had for many years made this blog only available for private viewing - it's public again now, and if you don't like what I post then just don't read or follow this blog.

(I'm in a position now where I seriously don't give a damn about your opinions. It's not like you are losing anything financially or your quality of life by what I post here. So don't waste your time reading something you don't like. i.e. No one is forcing you to read my mindless and lengthy ramblings...)

I did skim through my posts from this past 10 years and all I can say is that, the me of the past 10 years, rambles a lot, curses a lot , procrastinates a lot (I probably still do all three a lot?), has a weird sense of humour(?), freaks out a lot close to exams, took a lot of random online quizzes, and again... Rambles a lot.. Ahh, those were the days...

Amongst my favourite posts from the past that I found during my skimming - be wary of Manglish - I had this habit of not checking what I wrote for grammatical/spelling errors, and used SMS spellings all the time as well:
Poems I wrote: here, here, here, & here.
Me freaking out over my revenue law assignment
Mother's Day in May 2008
Me Freaking out before the CLP/Malaysian Bar Exam lol
Sister's Birthday Card in August 2008
Precious in his Younger Years in August 2008
My Singaporean Cousin, who is the first to classify my alien-ism as an Amoeba, lol

Anyway besides all the random ramblings, whining, complaints, weird posts.. etc..  (I actually read Shakespeare.. Such a nerd! lol) I apparently live a very uninteresting life, since all I do is work; I don't hold interests in things long enough usually (read: short attention span.. lol..), and I'm apathetic to almost everything that won't cause me or people/things/other living beings, I care about, any financial, physical or psychological harm. I guess overall, I am just not that attached to this world.

But I digress... Back to the topic at hand...

This Blog's 10th Anniversary!!

~~

Well, in this year of 2015, to be more precise 31 October 2015 (darn forgot those html codes to make the words blink =.='), 10 years has come to pass since this blog officially had it's humble beginnings...

So.... After 10 years..... What's different? Besides the recent loss of Baby (which I will not address further here).

I've started a new chapter of my life, since as of 1 April 2015, for a duration of one year I was stationed in the land of the rising sun.  In a so-called secondment by my firm to work as an assistant professor in a certain university here.

After this stint i.e. in April 2016 I'll be going back home; don't get me wrong, while I love Japan, I don't love living here for the long term due to various reasons that I decline to mention in this post, or it will be never ending.

All I can say is that after Japan, I will need to seriously rethink my future, do I want to keep slaving away at my current law firm, or review other options? (Which are all probably in-house options.)

One thing I can say for sure is that in 2005 when I started law school, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer, and I never considered being a lecturer. So I didn't bother with a LL.M.  (that's the minimum educational requirement to be a lecturer - besides my bar school offered an LL.M from some Australian University that I've never heard of till this day).

I did consider doing a masters, maybe a LL.M or MBA, since it seemed it might be better for the corporate world, if you hold a directorship or something, (your profile would look a little nicer in the prospectus lol) it could be advantageous, but I've met some lawyers who don't hold any masters at all, and they are doing fine... So I digress...

Anyway back to the topic at hand, now 10 years after the start of law school, I spent about 7 years of that being a corporate lawyer and now I'm an assistant professor at a Japanese University, in Japan obviously, and I must say, to be frank, I still cannot imagine myself in the teaching profession.

I rather be out there as a lawyer or an in-house counsel. I honestly prefer drafting/reviewing contracts to preparing power points. Talking to clients than to students. You could say I've rediscovered my love for drafting here.

Maybe I'm still considered young; maybe I like the corporate world better than the academic world; maybe I'm too used to what I have in the corporate world that moving to the academic world seems like something I can't get accustomed to; or maybe it's a case of who moved my cheese.

The corporate world isn't all rainbows, chocolates, roses, puppies or sunshine either, the long hours I spend slaving away, dealing with crazy people etc. The toll on my health... Both physical and psychologically... But I think in my personal view that it's more challenging and interesting as compared to where I am now.

Maybe I'm not being utilized to my full potential here at the university, so I feel this way, but I digress, that is a can of "what ifs" that I will probably never have the chance the open in this lifetime.

Or maybe, if I ever do fall in love, get married and ever have kids, maybe.... Just maybe.... I will find what I have now more appealing....

So here's to another 10 years! To the future where I hope that this blog and/or I'm still around then, or that still remember about this blog and will post something. Cheers!

More random pictures as I try to make use of the good connection to upload pictures..

So as they say.. the cliché, a picture says a thousand words.. so here they are.. all the posts I missed out cause I was busy... And the connection was crap...

This was my dad's birthday on December 2008

Uncle's birthday.. 2008... ermm forgot what month... November maybe??

Mom's Birthday on November 2008
A bottle of Asahi (Japanese Beer) by her side... haha..
Ermm.. November 2008 As well I guess.. or was it December... A very small G1 gathering at Yuen's Sunway.. I think I mentioned it before in one of the posts.. but here's the picture...

Just look at this fella, really and literally sitting down and eating.. 可愛い XD

He really is sitting you know.... :)

Went for the MPO on 20th December 2008, I think, Cause it was the winter festival, so I think it was about there.. anyway, we went cause they were playing the Lord of the Rings.. it was really superb.. and Des was a doll, and sent us back to PJ, since the last train had already stopped..

And Oh due to this screen they had, I had to crank my neck to see this sort of slideshow during the performance.. causing a neckpain... haha I recall that throughout the performance.. at some parts.. I just had to let my head drop and stare at my lap/hands/whatever, to ease my neck haha.. set too front I think.. but it was hard to get tickets...

-Oracl3-

Well yeah, sorry I'm backdating the last few posts, but I wanted the flower post to be at the top.. haha..

お姉ちゃんのお誕生日のカッド

Title: Oneechan no otanjyoubi no kaddo: Sister's birthday card..

Well, since my sister always sends cards home, and well, I actually rarely send any myself haha.. being lazy or whatever, but I think I sent one last year?... but anyway.. this year, I decided to make one.

Earlier, my brother had sort of made me a card for my birthday and so did Ccy, so I thought that I would try my hand at making a card. I think we used to do it when we were kids.. but, well that was aeons ago... Unlike my cheater of a brother who relied on items from craft shops.. mine is truly 100% hand made from scratch.. muahaha well not counting the envelope.. I couldn't be bothered to make one, when we have it available...

Anyway, on the 2nd of August 2008, I think I sat down and started on the card, and the results are below..

It was my first time making a proper card... but oh well.. It's the thought that counts, and it's really cute to me anyway :p I even wanted to keep it for myself haha..

This is the front of the card.. it looks plain now.. but just push the little tab up... to get..

This... This is the actual cover of the card... Precious pops out to wish you a happy birthday!!.
As I said, my profession isn't making cards so this was the best I could do..

And when you flip it open..

We will give you your birthday wishes!!
I wanted to make it pop out, but didn't know how... so this is just how it is haha

And that's all for this post.. I'm proud of the card I made haha

On another note, I had complained since it was summer, my livejournal inbox is getting spammed by multiple notices for yaoi/shounen ai / gay manga downloads, and I had expressed a slight concern over that... being a selective moderate feminist haha...

Well it was more of a curiosity, so I said that I would try some lesbian manga/comics... to see what's the hype with gay comics that lesbians are sidelined..

Actually over the years I hadn't really watched nor read anything regarding homosexuality.. [I mean there were the "accidents" where people didn't label the anime/manga as homosexual/porno, & I downloaded it, only to discover it after opening the file.. I mean.. heck label your things properly.. What if I happened to be under 18??!! o_O'... but still, I just read it anyway haha since I've already opened it.. haha.. I think I might have accidentally downloaded porn manga for all I know haha.. so people that borrow my animes/manga, be careful, because sometimes I don't even know what is in there haha, I just keep downloading and burning, to make more space to download more haha.. but anyway...] I guess, no matter how open I try to be, I'm still conservative.. but I do try to accept as many things as possible in this world, and judge it on my own, whether it's good or bad...

I mean if two people love each other, what's to get in their way? it's only society.. that's why we get tragic love stories like Romeo and Juliet.. But, I digress..

Anyway, back to the topic, as stated before... I finally got down to downloading a few Yuri/lesbo manga, just to see how it is.. I've accidentally watched two, I think yuuri animes before.. And it's nothing much to me...I've watched.... hmmmm.. I few yaoi animes? Those were not totally by accident though haha.. I still remember the gay anime we bought for gene :p it was a cute anime... again I digress..

So my comments, and the satisfying of my curiosity of why there is more Yaoi than Yuuri out there.. My Hypothesis...

Basically, I would say that Gay stories are more interesting? Like Loveless and Rin..and gay couples look more sexy/cute together in the mangas... Maybe it's because I've read more Yaoi/shounen ai than Yuuri/shoujo ai... and well they are bishounens/ good looking guys. And me being a girl, would of course be more attracted to their looks rather than pretty girls in lesbo... heck even in straight mangas/animes.. so that would explain why so many girls are crazy over Yaoi...

But the few things that I've seen... maybe because I'm heterosexual and a girl.. so I didn't find it all that interesting... though.. yaoi is more interesting than Yuuri, but I still prefer my straight stories.. Sorry for being so conservative.. but I'm not all closed as I did take the trouble to enter the world of homosexuality through manga and anime no matter how briefly.. It's ok, I don't mind them.. but I still prefer straight stories... =.=' by the way, anyone has broke back mountain? I wanna watch... haha..

One thing, I still don't get is the fan-girling squeals girls do over boy love/shounen ai/yaoi... even more clueless for girl love, if there is any such squealing.... Then again, by so called normal societal standards I'm not very normal... Hence, I don't really conform to society's norm.. I only go so far as is enough for me to live a peaceful life... but that's about it?

Wendy's Birthday 160508

Facebook is a retard. No matter how many times I try to upload the pictures from Wendy's birthday onto facebook.. just when it's done.. it will tell me that upload failed.. I give up!

Whoever wants the pictures...

Get yourself Skype [Because my MSN is retarded as well] and add me, or see me in person with a pendrive!
*****

Okay, back to the post.. on the 16th of May 2008, Wendy decided to celebrate her Birthday with us after class.. and she graciously; knowing that our driver's license is for decoration.. Drove us all to Midvalley Megamall.. A place I've not been for years.. because it's so far away from home..

When I have Bandar Utama so near by, why waste petrol going there... further the shops are all the same.. [Guess it's also because I don't really shop, nor fancy shopping.. I prefer eating haha] but I digress.. We headed to Midvalley, and to Kiku Zakura to celebrate her birthday :)

Me, Xian Ai & Mel...

This is what I ordered.. Beef something.. Tasted so Chinese... =.='

Poised to eat...

The people... on the other side of the table, we have the Birthday girl, Wendy, Eddy, & Siew Peng..

The people who came for the dinner.. we have Shien Wei next to me, and Kenny next to Wendy.. The one taking the picture is..Daphne.. Sorry.. I didn't load a picture with her inside...

We sat and ate, and chat.. and drunk tea... and then.. it was time...
For the nutella cake

Birthday Girl making a wish...

Giving the cake the first cut...

The nuttella cream in the cake...

The tea cups were interesting.. so I took shots of it haha

Well, that's about it.. we ate and chatted.. and as we were all quite full, and there was a slice of cake left, we played a game, called the number's game.. I think.. We chose a person, who picks any number between 1-100, and other's have to NOT guess the number but it's an elimination process. Allowing the number for the players to pick to be significantly reduced...

If say I chose the number 50, and a player says 30.. the number range has become 31-100, and as they guess, the number becomes less, if the next player guesses 60 it's range is further reduced to 31-59 etc

If the player guesses the number he/she loses, and has to eat a slice of the cake. If we are at the last two numbers, eg 49-50 is the range.. .if the player doesn't guess the number i.e. guesses 49, the person who chose the number loses and has to eat the cake...

We were so noisy in this game haha.. but in the end we finished the cake.. and left..

The parking rate is RM1 for the first 3 hours and a dollar added on for every consecutive hour.. guess what.. we were there for 3 hours and 3minutes.. so we had to pay an extra dollar for 3 minutes =.='

But all was well, it was a fun outing :) Wendy sent us all home after that, so nice of her :)

智君のパイです

Title: Satoshi kun no pai desu/ Satoshi's Pie/ Ccy's pie

Okay, I'm sorry this is really late but better late than never..

Been on a cleaning spree, cleaning my room, toilet, the room I used to study for the exams.. I've actually quite a lot of things to do... I have to sort out pictures of my one year in the UK for developing, do my scrap book/photo album [it's been sitting there for at least 3 years... sobs.. 3 years worth of picture organising... ] But I digress back to the post..

Here are the pictures of the pie I baked for his birthday this year. The juice seemed to have leaked out a bit, guess the apples were to juicy for the pie.. :p

Hmm~ looking at this, I feel like baking one to eat too :p

I cut out letters and arranged it on his pie :p

The birthday boy and his pie :p

Currently listening to this Vampire Knight radio show, featuring non either than Kiryuu Zero :p unfortunately my Japanese is only so-so and he speaks to fast for me to understand the whole thing.. I only get his complaints, cause he says that slowly haha but he sounds so cute.. unwillingly hosting a radio show.. so like him :p tearing up letters as well haha.. since he hates vampires so much.. haha.. he sounds so exasperated since he's forced to do the radio show and talk more than usual, and of all things about vampires that he hates.. :p

Translation for ghost hunt is going along slowly.. Getting quite a lot of kanji that I don't know.. sigh... And i dread the next chapter or so.. that's where they took up a case.. and the amount of words, on the page, sort of puts me off... sigh

Anyway...ccy, here are your long awaited pictures.. and I guess if the connection holds..the next few posts should be pictures posts as well... there are some posts which were delayed even longer than this...

今年、私のお誕生日

"What matters most is the thought, that's what really counts" -サヤカ-
Title: ことし、わたしのおたんじょうび [is this even right?? kotoshi.. sounds weird..i added the は/ha after the kotoshi.. cause if not it just sounds totally weird... maybe i should put a の/no instead...hmm~ in romanji it reads as kotoshi ha watashi no otanjyoubi well, gene said without the は/ha it's fine.. so it's just kotoshi, watashi no otanjyoubi] : My birthday this year...

Okay, it's that time of the year... it only happens once a year... and the great actual occurrence [i almost used the word tragedy...=.='] happened 22 years ago.. yes, the day i was born, all wailing, slimy.. soaked.. into this world.. to reign my terror.. my compassion on this planet..

All right! Enough with the drama... as some of you may have noticed from the previous post.. i don't seem to be able to use my onion head emoticons any more... why? beats the hell out of me.. ccy's theory is that the guy whom what the inhabitants of livejournal would claim.. that i was hotlinking [the act of taking other's links for your own.. but i don't have my own photobucket account =.='] from his photobucket account, has exceeded it's usage, and the guy didn't pay to upgrade or whatever..... [do you even understand what i just said..? i don't think i really understand it myself =.=' anyway...]

well, after my exams, i will do something about it.. so wait till after july, i bet none of you would miss it anyway.. since i got complaints about it, when i started using it haha... ermm.. oh yes, back to the post...

for those who have been eagerly awaiting my updates... are you blind???!! i'm on hiatus..!! [well attempted hiatus <-- clicky, click..] well, yes... but i was at least considering updating about my birthday, before going full scale on hiatus... i have a few things to blog about, and some things to cross blog on Generation Lim, so i thought that since i would have to blog on two blogs, those can wait till after my exams..

okay, okay.. i'll try to stop straying... dang.. it's not my fault that i'm easily distracted.. speaking of which, just yesterday i went to mel's church as she had this musical performance.. as usual, her choir was beautiful, and they served a delicious dinner too.. we sang some hymns, sat through a sermon, and enjoyed a drama on Sol of Tarsus, and his transformation into Paul...

All right, all right.. sorry... i will get down to the purpose of this post.. now..

where was i... oh.. yes, my birthday.. well, what can i say? it's the month of June.. the usual time where Malaysians love to have exams.. so we are busy studying/ going through exams, and have no mood to go out to celebrate... or no time.. or no transport.. but i digress...

the earliest to wish me happy birthday this year.. was Cheese@ Chi Ming.. well, i didn't really suspect it or what, but sort of suspected, if you get my drift.. sorry, i'm being contradicting.. but that's just me... but well, cheese couldn't beat my parents who bought me a pair of sandals for my birthday? well they said it was for my birthday.. but birthday or not.. i still needed a pair... but oh well...

okay.. so on the 17th of June.. Cheese came along to my place apparently to give me my fix of anime.. since i complained.. told him that some of the animes were faulty on my computer and wanted to transfer again.. when the transfers were done, he suggested going to secret recipe near my area... cause he wanted to eat cake.. i was like.. err.. ok... [it did cross my mind.. but i thought that it was too early to celebrate... so i shelved it, and thought i was just accompanying him] so off we went to secret recipe..

spent aeons deliberating on which cake to take... i found the peach cake appealing.. but it was fat free.. [much to a few readers chagrin, i bet.. fat free stuff doesn't taste as nice as the real stuff.. that's why i had to think for so long.. but it turned out quite tasty, so it's fine ;p] and well, we got a slice a cake.. and suddenly cheese took out a candle, stuck it in the cake.. lighted it with his weird car key lighter thingie.. and sang me happy birthday for the whole shop to hear.. haha

well, it was funny.. but if i was fair.. i think my face would have been red that time haha.. so we had a nice chat.. usually cheese is so quiet... o_O' haha.. well.. he has his talkative moods.. keke.. so chatted, then it was time for him to go home, after giving me my present.. [the picture of it is below.. well not to mention.. cause i was sort of unsuspecting, i didn't bring a camera.. or well, we could have used our mobiles to take a picture of the cake.... =.=']

and life went on as usual... on the actual day itself.. i went to class to be greeted by the girls.. [Mel & xian ai] with a coffee bean paper bag, containing my present [also displayed below, well the picture of it..] and a cheese cake.. [again, no pictures of the cake.. sigh...] well, it was class then.. so nothing out of the ordinary haha... the usual.. when we went for lunch, Vivian offered to pay for my Chapati [yummy] as a sort of birthday gift? haha :p

a few days before that, when my mom asked me what i wanted for my birthday dinner i told her korean bbq... she said.. it was pricey.. but nevertheless... considerable.. and on the night of my birthday.. well, i came back from a gruelling class.. and was tired.. so by the time we headed out for dinner it was kind of late.. about 8pm when we left the house.. and we headed to ss2 for the korean barbeque.. so yummy :) [and they say a picture says a 1000 words :p] -->

Here we are at the restaurant with the 12 types of kimchi served.. plus our beef and pork... it was really pricey costing us Rm105.10 just for the 3 of us.. but they gave like.. on the house, soup and steamed egg.. service isn't bad and the owner is a nice korean lady.. well at least we don't have to go all the way to Ampang to have korean bbq any more?

after dinner we headed to cake sense near my place and got this... -->

passion fruit mango cake? don't know what's it called, basically sponge cake with cream in the middle... well, it wasn't bad... quite nice actually :p

mom, me and the cake.. sorry, forgot to put precious in the picture haha..

dad and me... the candles are melting!!

and after that.. here we have the displayable/non edible presents that i got this year... -->

From mel and xian ai... they got me a necklace with earrings.. since i like shiny accessories.. hmm though i should have said i wanted a bag? haha.. joking.... i have tons in my cupboard haha..

[well, i'm not exactly the easiest person to buy presents for? haha my tastes are too high class keke..]

next up, we have the present from cheese... a small stuff toy doggie [supposed to resemble my precious??] in a vase with 100 origami birds... i can't believe he spent almost 17 hours on them.. but they were very nicely folded :) pretty!! question remains.. where in my clutter filled room, should i place it.. even the set of 5 mashimaros haven't found their place o_O' [well, i'll figure it out after exams..]

can't really see the doggie that clearly....

and the last one.. though it's edible and already in my stomach haha.. i just got it today [after i was done with this post..] :p well 15 minutes ago to be exact :p

Dragon-I siu long bau :p yummy.. this one is from ccy :)

and well, that's it so far... for this birthday.. most of the friends i celebrate with are overseas.. but everyone sent their wishes through facebook, msn and what not... so thank you everyone.. for all the online wishes..

thanks for the lunch Vivian, thanks for the presents Mel, Xian Ai and Chi Ming...
Thanks for the pau ccy...

thanks Sis & Michelle for sending me birthday cards from your corner of the globe. [and oh, sis still owes me presents hehe]

and ohya, thanks to mel, xian ai and ccy for their cards too..

thanks again sis & bro for the smses.. and my two cousins.. [whom sadly, forgot my birthday till later.. sob~ sob.. haha just pulling their legs.. :p]

that's all for now.. it's time again.. to hit the books.. [or try to hit..] wasted so much time on this post liao.. why must we have exams?? sigh.. [i don't mind studying, but to be more specific, i don't like studying for exams!!]

"Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. sometimes we get so busy with our lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's eight and wrong. sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. i don't want to let that happen so i'm gonna tie you to my heart, so i never lose you."
*The quote above is dedicated to the Birthday boy, Friends forever
070 (just like on the key chain i got you eons ago053 )
and well the part below.. isn't meant nor dedicated to him.. except the last line? haha

~~

I got that quote from the mail from my SAM classmate Linda... thought it was nice so am sharing... but it's true... a lot of people.. and i mean a lot of people.. i'm no exception.. don't realise that we've lost a meaningful friendship till we've lost them... though i try my best to keep the meaningful ones.. but it takes two hands to clap....

all relationships whether it's with family, friends or lovers, is a two way street.. it's all give and take... though with family and lovers.. maybe...... the giving may be more unconditional.. but i don't know...

i do know, that relationships can't last if it's only a one way street.. people get tired when they have to keep giving.. i know this the best.. sometimes you just want to take some things back.. it's not like you expect anything in return, but...

Heck even civil servants get a day off too, you know... there are times when you just want to take, we are just human, we aren't God, we can't just keep giving and giving.. there is no endless flow of giving, the giving has to come from somewhere.. and like everything in this world, it is not a continuous, it needs to rest and replenish...

But the people around you, are so used to taking, that they don't know how to give anything back... so who wants to stay in a relationship where they are being taken for granted? obviously that's why a lot of couples/friendships break up...

sometimes... the other party may realise too late, that the person is tired.. but some people don't do a thing, and some try to give back.. but sometimes.. you know.. when it's too late, it's just too late... if you really want to win that person back, doing a half-assed job will make that person drift even further away from you...

as they say, once bitten twice shy... when people have to tell you what to do.. it loses all meaning.. it feels like you are doing it, because we told you to, like it's an obligation on your part... it's no longer your own personal motivation..

saying that you don't know what do to, is merely an excuse.. is it that hard to think, how you would like others to treat you? and do the same? example, if you are sick. wouldn't you like it, if someone cooked, let's say porridge or chicken soup for you? accompany you to the doctor? it's the same thing... doing small little things, are sufficient... every action of ours, no matter how big or small, causes a ripple.. and this is true for both negative and positive actions.. (it's true it's hard to control our actions, especially the negative actions, but just try your best..)

we are all humans.. yet we don't understand other humans.. it's not really a mystery, the answer is just right in front of us.. still don't know the answer? it's simple.. because humans are all selfish creatures, with the only thing going through our minds is "me, myself and I". oh how tired i am of people like that..

i don't mind the fact that the human mind is all "me, myself and I" but it would be nice, if they could squeeze a little "& you" into that equation.. the "you" which isn't the "i love you, because i need you..." not that "you "....

But the "i need you, because i love you" that type of "you"... (for all relationships, family, friends, lovers.. why do people think that, that only applies to lovers??? don't you love your family and friends???) guess that's just too much to ask.. especially of certain people..

though I'm tired of being in this world with such people.. I'm glad that there are still some people, the minority that they are, who take the time to squeeze that little special "you" in their lives..

Again, Happy Birthday Satoshi kun :)

Some outing with my classmates...

“When anger rises, think of the consequences”
-Confucius-

since it's only two pictures, and since i sort of lack the mood.. or more like, my interests at the moment has been taken up by PJU's politics... this will just be a quickie post...

gah and the mouse for my computer is RETARDED!!

and also WARNING: RANT about CLP classes and its hours.. (Read at your own risk)
~~

On the 1st of March, as some of my Reading classmates who are in the CLP course with me, decided to go out for dinner, after Raja Singham's Torturous 6 hour classes... not to mention that we had a class at 1030 in the morning already... it's as if we live in Brickfields for crying out loud!!

i need a life man... or at least re-live my life which was stolen from me by CLP, one of the reasons my mood is soooooooo damn freaking bad is because of CLP, i feel so damn tired out or stressed if you would like to put it that way, (but i don't seem to be exhibiting the signs of stress.. trust me, i know what the signs are, i went through it before..) because of the long hour of monotonous lectures.. gahhhhhh!!!

my brain comes home fried.... i have no life, no social life, no family life no dog life, what so ever... even my dog seems to be leading a better life than i.. i mean i don't mind studying, or classes, but please.. be reasonable.. at least let my weekends be weekends, cause that is when people like us socialise... this is worse than prison i tell you.... okay, so i've never been imprisoned before, but it does feel that way okay. at least prisoners get to do somethings like craftwork or something, rather than sit through lectures like this... ie read between the lines to mean, things that doesn't kill the brain off..

(honestly, if you are going to read straight from the notes, i might as well stay home...)

being someone who can't sit still for hours as well, it's like forcing me sit on a bed of nails, my ass is full of holes.. enough is enough, at least be gracious enough to bestow on us poor cheap industrial sponges and hourly break, not a TWO hourly break!! gah, just because you can sit and talk for hours, that doesn't mean to waste our time by telling us a joke of yours which lasts at least 15 minutes...

anyway.. as usual, i deviated super far away from my original intentions of the post... and due to the last long posts about the coming elections.. not the generator thing i did at kenny sia's blog..

i was called random by my friend.. yet another friend, yet the same comment, so yes i am random.. if you know me in person, or have been diligently reading my blog since it's opening, you will know that i am random and contradicting, so yes, if some paragprahs don't make sense or don't seem to join or flow/connect smootly.. well that is just my style... i don't use a strcuture to write and i go back up to add thoughts that come to mind... in other words, my brain is a mess.. i need to organise it... =.=' defrag-ing anyone? haha

ok back to the topic.... so after class we left...

well truth be told we absconded early, cause we really couldn't take it anymore... 2 pages an hour.. lecture, reading straight from the notes, and with 150 pages left to cover, you are just at your limit, honestly... it's pointless sitting there, if you are there only physically, but spiritually and mentally you are already long gone to La-la land... you might as well leave... then pop a vein...

so as Wendy as my transport minister... where did we go for dinner? we went to the curve.. and after some minor debate we settled on going to Thai Express for dinner, originally we wanted Sakae sushi, but the restaurant was so busy, we changed to Thai food..

so here we are...

from the left going ala horseshoe style...we have Wendy, Siew Ping, Marlyn, Brian, Uma, Wei Li, Eddy, Caryn and me

As it was a saturday, there was the bazaar, so i bought some strawberries, which looked real sweet, but turned out sort of sour.. and thanks to the Thai milk tea, i ended up in a sleepless night.. how much caffiene is in that thing i wonder.. =.=

~~

another outing, which wasn't so recent, cause it happened in january.. january 12th to be exact?? i think... should be..... anyway... january 12th is Ai kun's birthday, so after the morning class.. on saturday..(i think, i can't recall) before the next class, we had lunch together, and decided to have a little cake blowing thingie for ai kun at starbucks...

so off we went... we had a bit of trouble lighting the candle... but it was fine.. we managed it, and we succeeded.. and there.. we celebrated.. had cake.. then i think.... we went to class. cause upon checking my calander jan 12th is a saturday. so that basically means 2 classes one 1030-1230 and the other 2-7.. so ya.. i guess we did it during our break.. which makes me wonder..

it's only been 2 months and i can't recall correctly... even though it was an outstanding event, because i celebrated a friend's birthday, all i remembered was there was a heavy thunderstorm. and even then i'm not sure, since it's been raining so often....

ok.. the point of that was.. how do witnessess in court testify?? witnesses aren't that credible after all eh? haha

ok-ok picture time.. yes singular..

cause there is only one picture.. courtesy of caryn, the camerawoman who unfortunately didn't make it into the picture...

here we are trying to light the candle... we have me, xian ai, wei li, mars and mel... and as mentioned, but not available in the picture.. caryn...

well that's all for now.. i have another Simba (try to figure out that one.. key word, an animation....) class at 6 today... gah..... but it's only till 9 so its fine...

still thinking on who to vote for the state seat... sigh.. elections are kind of bothersome... think, think, think.. it's hard, cause you don't know who that person is, and don't know if he is capable unless you give him a chance.. so what is a poor voter like me to do?

i belive that i have carried out my responsiblies as a citizen properly if i may say so, i have looked at both sides of the opposition, and this had made me reach a decision on who to vote for the parliament seat.. (it has nothing to do with Kenny sia's vote generator ok.. haha)

albiet i feel kind of guilty..or maybe it's pity... but i think my choice is right.. so now, i have to think on who to vote for the state seat.. which to me it's important, but people don't seem to care who runs the state seat...

i mean if it isn't important, why are we even voting for it? too much attention has been given to the parliament seat... sigh.. so what should my decision be? Mr Gu or Mr Cheah?? i'm still thinking...

*on a different note, i'm waiting for my letter from the BAR council, about the exams.. so ermm hope i get it, and since tomorrow ie thursday is the start of my "weekend" i plan to start my revision.. so wish me luck, [from the looks of it, i will be needing loads of it..] and hope i have the willpower to go through with it.. :p*

Unforgettable memories of 2006-2007, The good & the bad..

“It’s better to have loved and lost, rather then to have never loved at all”

I got the idea to write such a thing from Melissa who had done hers earlier on.. Mine took so long because I was trying to make it reach a hundred.. (which I did!!)
Initially I was even planning to put pictures up with the posts, but there is a hundred memories here, so I couldn’t be bothered, and besides I have blogged about all this before..

So if you are interested in learning of my memories, then take a look..

Unforgettable memories of 2006 – 2007, the good and the bad

**The time before April 2006, has either been gone with the wind, or nothing much worth mentioning happened during that time.. Anyway if there was anything to start with, neither you nor I would have missed it, as it would have been definitely blogged bout..**

-April 2006-
1. Participating for the first time in a debate.. (Ahh the horror of it all…) Discovered how some people can be real asses, and self centred and was left wondering how do this people live when they don’t have even an ounce of decency in them to work together…

2. Participating and winning a moot court on vicarious liability and meeting and getting to know some juniors who are of the same age. (We all love anime!!)

3. Being part of the Law Society, Mooting Society, and Class Council (Whatever that was called) and organising all it’s events (though I tried to, and somewhat failed to purposely take on roles with hopefully the least work)

-June 2006-
4. Celebrating my birthday, with a small, last minute put together party –I love that lemon cheese cake, and the Japanese buffet the day after..

5. Depression started to get noticeably worse… (Could be because my close friends had left, or could be due to my leaving (this I seriously doubt), or could be the exams.. so many probabilities, but I’m not sure which is which, I never dwelled on it, to start with…)

6. Had my heart sort of broken, i think. (Well I was already depressed, so that incident sort of set me off, i guess..but then again, i'm not sure what made me tear that time, cause eventhough i saw him, i was still fine, so maybe it wasn't him.. but other stuff??)

-July 2006-
7. Reaping what I sowed due to my laziness (that's what you get for not studying? haha)

8. Missing out on scouting activities that I would have loved to go to =.='

9. Losing friends to the education system of the United States of America (well and lost too…)

-September 2006-
10. Preparing to fly off to the United Kingdom in about 10 days – rushing my visa, buying clothes and necessities, packing, farewells- Hats off to my dad…

11. Having a boisterous farewell by the Scouter Council; a board game courtesy of Aun Wei that I will never forget (I still remember it was on the 16th of September 2006, the first time I got drunk in Malaysia with people other than family…)

12. Flying alone for the first time, when I was leaving for the UK. My 3rd uncle and family came to see me off.. My aunt now claims that I am the really calm and composed type.. Hmm~ I won’t reject a compliment.. When it comes to travel I am independent haha.. (Guess I only panic in matters of the heart and exams?)

-October 2006-
13. Arriving in Reading, and on to the hall, first friend I made at bridges hall was Anastasia.

14. My very own room, to do as I wish, and decorate as I wish

15. Discovered that living with bare necessities was quite fulfilling.. Because it means less clutter!! :p

16. Fell in love with the United Kingdom weather –umbrellas are useless over there, get a waterproof coat..-

17. Discovered that it was actually very wonderful to wear a coat. –I actually miss wearing a coat- (and secretly I actually had always wanted to wear one.. could be the shows or Canada..)

18. Realised that sometimes a change in scenery does good for depression.. Was somewhat cured for the time being… (or maybe I was too busy, and I had to look after other people, so I had to put aside my own problems first.. but I had support from Leeds, Prague and Malaysia so I managed..)

19. Learning to control my finances –thank goodness I’m not really a spend drift-

20. Having to be independent – doing my own laundry, cooking and cleaning for myself, well it wasn’t my first time so it wasn’t hard at all, thanks to my parents.. But I became such a neat freak..- (That now, I can’t really stand the dust here, I’m constantly sneezing =.=’)

21. Bath [8th October 2006] my first time travelling in the UK with friends; met some new friends, and juniors. And learnt some interesting things about the Roman baths.. (Yes!! Culture!!)

25. Seeing one of the wonders of the world.. And going to a place that my mom had been… The Stonehenge & Salisbury [28th October 2006]

26. Cooking dinner for at least 8 people [29th October 2006] a real experience to cook like that.. It was like for a big family.. (I usually cook for no more than 5- and that’s helping out, or with help)

-November 2006-
28. A place I always wanted to go to… --> Oxford [11th November 2006]

29. Losing a friendship, which could actually have been a more meaningful friendship.. But guess it’s written in the stars, that we’re only just somewhat “friends”. No one’s fault.

30. Realising what are real friends..

31. Having to deal with gossips and childish people (nothing new here, I had my fair share in high school, but this time it was harder, cause I didn’t have the support and protection I used to have in high school, and to think that people in university will do things like that, guess people don’t change no matter how old they are)

-December 2006-
32. Casablanca night [1st December 2006] My first time clubbing in the UK, couldn’t dance for nuts.. (Happily to say though, that I got a hang of dancing now, and I love it haha.. but I don’t like Malaysian clubs, and no trusted friends to go with.. sigh..)

33. London [6th December 2006] with xian ai and jian lun, first time in London in 17 years and I took a picture with Queen Elizabeth :p keke

34. Was scandalized by the size of clothing there. I had to resort to children’s clothing. –I had to look for clothes meant for 12-13 years olds.. Or go to the £5 pound shop.. – (In a sense I think it’s good, cause then I’m refrained from spending money on clothes..)

46. Visited Bristol [25th February 2007] At first i couldn't recall, but know i have recalled that Bristol was memorable because i had Scones English style for the first time, heated scones on the oven with cream/strawberry jam.. ooh yum.. even Savoy's couldn't beat their scones.. haha (oh wait i should have made a memory for Savoy's, but that would make it 101 if i did.. eek...)

-March 2007-
47. Experienced what was called Latin night [2nd March 2007] tried to salsa.. And failed, good experience though :p

Titlis; running round on a snow mountain in naught but shorts (an experience of a life time), Rhine Falls (not as great as Niagara Falls but the water.. woah.. so clear..), Interlaken (mounted a bike after so many years, really enjoyed myself, and touching the cold, clear refreshing water of the alps, cycling in the woods..) overall it was like amazing race, running to catch the trains from state to state :p

73. Ever partied on a boat? I have, in a Latin boat party [24th June 2007] learnt how to Salsa
properly, and had a great dance partner i.e. Aansan.. And spent the night laughing about my cursed silver shoes.. (I’m a known klutz when I’m in heels.. haha) –got a very bad leg cramp after that due to the cold, thanks Aansan for looking after me..-

74. Leaving Bridges hall and my friends. [30th June 2007], tears were shed, but there are no regrets, I treasure every moment there, I detested the noisy, cloggy, place but I also managed to meet the great people there; that I treasure.. that’s where I learnt, it’s better to have loved and lost, rather to have never loved at all..

80. Backpacking Eastern Europe – a true experience to treasure.. [14th till the 25th of July 2007], Bratislava, Slovakia (cheap food? Cheaper than UK at least)- Budapest, Hungary (houses of parliament was beautiful)- Zagreb, Croatia-(most beautiful falls I’ve ever seen, discovered that advertisements need not always be right.. – 10 minute walk anyone?), Ljubljana Slovenia (went to the orchestra for the first time, and fell in love with it, and had a horse burger) – Vienna, Austria (a musician’s dream come true)- Salzburg, Austria (biggest ice cave in the world – a real experience)

96. Celebrated my mom’s birthday, parent’s birthdays are important after all, if they weren’t born I wouldn’t be here [16th November 2007]

-December 2007-
97. Celebrated my dad’s birthday, as a person who treasure family ties, I think it’s nice to celebrate family birthdays [17th December 2007] –well friend’s birthdays too-

98. Meeting my brother’s Japanese girlfriend, [22nd December 2007] I like Japan’s culture, so it was nice to be able to meet a Japanese and learn some new things from her, and experience not to be forgotten, and I learnt how to make Japanese pizza (okonomiyaki)

99. December seemed to be the month to meet old friends, had a SMKTS 03 gathering; meeting old friends was wonderful, and surprisingly, the people that you didn’t talk to last time can get really talkative with you [27th December 2007] –From this experience I realised I wasn’t really as social a butterfly as I claim, or well maybe now; I could have been in the past..-

100.Celebrated the coming of a new year, the first time I managed to celebrate it till the end (I get sick in huge crowds, lack of oxygen perhaps), and had loads of fun doing it, karaoke anyone? :p (hanging out with my brother and his friends) [31st December 2007]

I think I became more cultured since coming back, either than the MPO (i.e. my ignited love for classical music), I have been going to a lot of Japanese related things as well, like the Okinawa dance festival, the Japanese charity bazaar..

Overall, doing this post, I realised that I had my ups and downs.. And I chose to dwell on the good things…(the.. I quote from my dad “ over-optimist” in me??) I mean I did have more positive things happening to me. I visited places I could only dream of travelling to. It was very tiring to travel so much in one year, but I totally enjoyed myself, and I have no regrets. I made new friends, and really broadened my horizons..

As a person who loves culture, Europe was very attractive to me, as it is also rich in culture (especially music), though I still do prefer oriental culture more (but I sort of prefer western classical music slightly more, maybe it’s because I play the piano), as it is closer to my ethnicity but it was refreshing to learn other new things. The only regret I garnered from my one-year stay in Europe was that I had to leave the friends I made.

But life has to move on, I can always make new refreshing memories.. I am still young, and I hope that one day, I will get to study abroad again, preferably the UK again, because I find them richer in culture. (I’ve been to Australia at least 3 times, and what can I say? Europe is more exciting, and I heard New Zealand is only good for the fresh air..) And also, I limit myself to these countries because of the weather conditions and my line of study.. :p I love their weather there.. Though Scotland would be fine, or Wales..(But England is more convenient furthermore I am familiar with that place and have friends there.. )

Or maybe Japan.. haha but in my line, what can I study in Japan? I would actually love a year’s home stay there actually. But it doesn’t look possible. So I shall look at what is possible.. :p

Now when I watch shows, animes or read books, I can associate myself to the places that they mentioned.. It brings me both happiness and sadness, but at least I had lived it to the fullest.. And I have something I can reminisces about.. That I assure you, is the most precious of them all.. Memories..

"When it is dark enough you can see the Stars"

Roscoe and his Shirts!!
-No specific date but between december 07 and january 08-

during last december, i bought my little precious a shirt.. but as it seems that my baby has grown (or they have made the shirts smaller), the shirt did not fit my precious as well as expected and i had to get it exchanged.. so a green T-shirt was exchanged for a pink...

initially i was not very happy with the pink, because brown and pink clashes... but after a while i got used to it.. and now am fine with him and his pink shirt...

not long after that, my brother's girlfriend junko san.. seeing how much we loved my little precious... and i guess it's her small little way of thanking me?? (for being her tourguide and photographer during her holidays here) bought another shirt for him, a yellow shirt.. as can be seen below..
My precious posing with his shirts.. and well his collars... hehe.. チョ可愛い:P

SAM G1 gathering at Sakae Sushi, Sunway Pyramid
二十五日一月二0零八年
On the 25th of January 2008, Michelle and i organised a small little gathering for our SAM G1 classmates.. although not all could make it, at least one fourth of our class was there, and we had an enjoyable time catching up with each other...

The group of us, the thorn among the roses?? haha.. we have the from left row, arvid, siew kim, nicole, linda, from the right row, yi ching, wey woon, me and michelle..

during the time of this gathering, it so happened that my brother and his japanese girlfriend were in malaysia for a holiday, and i happened to talk about natto (Japanese fermented beans) with junko san...

Natto handroll... i shared this with my friend, wey woon as i was unsure if i would finish it by myself.. i have heard of its reputation....

Verdict: by itself it tastes totally horrid (well the 1st bite was horrible, not to mention that it's totally slimey too) the second bite, taken with the rice, tastes not bad.. so when junko san said that my brother likes natto... i was...

(信じられない、兄ちゃんはそのナットが大好き??うそ。。[shinjirarenai, niichan ha, sono natto ga daisuki?? uso...]) -i can't believe my brother likes natto.. it's a lie..-

Bentong Trip
十二日十一月二0零七年 ー 十五日十一月二0零七年
On The 121107-151107 i made a trip back to bentong...

Well why blog about it now? when i've always been going back to bentong? Well because this is the first time that i've brought a friend back with me...

For some years i had already been suggesting this to some close friends, but never had the oppurtunity due to the timing factor, but this round i managed to bring a friend with me, namely xian ai..

well there isn't anything much to do in my hometown exccept to eat, sleep, and watch television ahaha.. there really isn't a place to go there, so maybe that's why so many have declined ahha.. but it was an average trip...

Having dinner, and showing off our beer...

Taman SEA 03 Gathering At Sky Cafe
二十七日十二月二0零七年

On the 27th Of December 2007, i had organised a little gathering, upon the request of a friend, for my schoolmates who graduated from the same year as i, ie the year 2003.

it was a slightly bumpy road on the way to the organising, as i was still sort of reluctant to organise everything (due to past experiences..) but it all went well, there was a change in venue.. but either than that it turned out fine, we had at least 25 people there, who were eating there and chatting, while others just popped in to say hi, before leaving..

There were more people then this actually.. but my connection prevents me from uploading too many pictures... check facebook for the rest of the pictures.. well i admit, i just plain lazy... *http://rdg.facebook.com/album.php?aid=23993&l=8c088&id=511511700*

お父さんの誕生日
十七日十二月二零零七年

On the 17th of December 2007, it was my dad's birthday (as it is every year), in the household, excluding the dog, there is only me, and my parents (as it has been for the past few years).

As is the usual with Birthdays in the family, we celebrated it by going out for dinner (at places we don't really frequent ie expensive places... or whatever the birthday person is craving for)

It happened that for this birthday, we went to Chili's at One Utama. it had been quite some while since i last had western food.. (includuing my trip to perth..) that was about almost 2 and a half months of no western food..

If you are going to indulge your self in western food, then one might as well go to a place where it taste nice.. so there we were..

This was actually quite a lot for the 3 of us to manage.. but we did in the end.. it ended with a brownie, given to us on the house, because we were celebrating my Dad's Birthday there...

Yes, i admit i have been playing with the blink code again.. but that's all for this post.. i'm almost done catching up with my posts.. only the ones left below... it's still quite a lot as there are sub posts to those posts...(=.=')

100907-230907 Perth trip and wedding. (kind of a lot here...=.=')
221207-30108 my multiple outings with 兄ちゃんと純子さん (also quite alot, this will be broken up to subsections..)
-- some europe pictures... (random shots?? i think i still might have a few lurking somewhere in my hard drive..)

~~
currently have been busy as i have been watching some TVB shows.. currently watching with my mom is a show called Face to fate.. it's set like a kung fu show from the olden days.. as there are no subtitles, and due to the usage and sayings of old Chinese, i have some difficulties.. but either than that.. i can basically guess what they are saying haha.. if not.. just watch only la haha..
