anyway, 16th of october was desmond's birthday, and these are the pictures from desmonds birthday.. :p

mika and gang, held a suprise party for desmond in the other block of bridges ie the A block, and then desmond was supposed to come over to my side to celebrate... so yong luk and i pakat, since he doesn't know about the suprise party by mika, so we just told him to come for the one we held haha..

yea.. we all grouped up at bridges, this is on mel's floor cause as i said in the post before, that the ppl on my floor are always hogging the pantry.. anyway, we have here, the birthday boy whose back is facing teh camera, desmond, joel, pol, yong luk, ai kun, me, part of deprika and vinyee, or well the back of vinyee hehe :p

the cake that mel bought, i wasn't well in the morning and went to see a doctor, so i told mel and ai kun that it was desmond's birthday, and they prepared everything, all i did was tell people to show up :) speaking about seeing the doctor, a funny story crops up, which i shall tell after the pictures haha..

ah.. the three of us with the birthday boy... ai kun was trying to remove his cap, cause we couldn't see des's face properly, in the end we settled with turning his cap the other way, so can see his face, but they wanted to remove his cap totally haha.. des being vain didn't want to haha..

they guys, i think i've introduced these same people enough times already.. i'm too lazy to write anymroe names haha..

ok, talking bout seeing the doctor just now, haha on the morning of the 16th i finally went to see the doctor, cause instead of getting better, my flu got worse, my dad called me, and "nagged" me to see the doctor keke... so since ai kun had to take her meningitis shot i followed her to the doctor's to set an appointment..

and the quickest that i could see a doctor was after an hour and a half... i was sick as a dog, so i called des whether i could rest at his place while waiting for the appointment (his place was super near the doctor)

so pegi sana rehat... but mana tau, itu desmond.. bising sangat, i couldn't sleep, so i pegi bilik aizat and tried to fix his computer...

main,main with the computer, then it was time to go back to the doctor's, so balik bilik des...
haha.. when i was putting on my jacket this aretha came haha... and when desmond open the door, this aretha had like a shocked look on her face.

it was like those kind of "scenes" you see on television, you know where the man is wearing his jacket and about to leave the mistress ahha

funnynya.. aretha's expression haha.. too bad no camera that time haha...her jaw liked practially dropped off her haha... then aretha told aizat, who should had known better, but i think aizat wanted revenge for the sarong story haha.. so spread la cerita tak betul betul.. and poor desmond kena tease...

i also kena teased but not that much, and as most of you all know my "ignoring power" haha.. so not only do i ignore, i laugh with them somemore, so no point teasing me liao muahahha...

although i'm from a fully catered hall, food are/is not provided for weekend nights... so what can one do? we decided to take turns between the 3 of us, ie mel, ai kun and i, to determine what will be for dinner during teh weekends... well, we could either order take away, eat out, or cook.. i opted for cooking during my turn... i love to cook, but i don't like planning and cleaning up.. :p

so during my turn, ie the 2nd weekend i was in UK, i opted to cook, i planned what i wanted to cook, and on friday went to morrisons' with, mel, ai kun and desmond for groceries, we walked there and back again.. about 20-30minutes walk... lucky got demond.. so heavy la the groceries... ==

so on saturday ai kun and i (mel had gone to london to visit her relative) went over to desmond's place to cook, cos as can be seen from the last post, my pantry is so damn dirty.... desmond's pantry on the other hand, is shared only by 6 people, and they are all quiet clean.. so yes, i opted for a clean kitchen... anyway.. this was what i cooked on saturday night.. ie 14th of october..

sweet and sour pork.. couldn't find any pork ribs so we used minced meat, egg with long beans and just chinese radish.. simple and fast chinese cooking haha :p i noticed the meat in european countries got a lot of water wan ler... ==

on sunday night, it was time to cook again yummy, so i opted to cook one of my favourite dishes, hehe my dad should know this one haha... i cooked simple stuff yet again :p

there we go, the dishes are, brocolli, tandoori chicken and i don't know waht it's called...

this dish, i don't know what it's called but it's fairly simple to make,just need chicken, carrot, cauliflower, oyster sauce, garlic and sugar.. too bad no cornflour.. but muahaha.. see dad i can cook too :p this dish took me quite long to prepare cause we didn't get any chicken fillet, so i had to debone the drumsticks.. we had too many drumsticks...

the aforementioned brocolli, just put in hot water take out, and then fry garlic and put oystersauce over.. muahaha.. simple chinese dishes that i learnt from home..

tandoori chicken.. we started to marinate them late, so the taste didn't really go in..

and last but not least, we had chicken soup.. everything also chicken == cause we had too many chicken drunmsticks.. they sold it in packs of 8 madness... and pol bought 3 packs, meaning 24 chicken drumsticks.. go figure!!


ah.. domesticated guy (Desmond).. washing dishes.. haha anyone up for grabs? heard he mops and sweeps too hahaha... only doesnt cook .. keke advertising.. but he's attached liao,so you can only upah him as a house helper muhahah *evil laughter*

Men at work... girls cook, guys clean muahaha.. suitable for me, who doesn't like cleaning up.. :p

the number of people that came for the meal..i had to cook for 8 people this round.. tiring... :p why does desmond always like to stick his toungue out...
anyway from left, we have kenny, joel, desmond, me, ai kun, yong luk, pol and mel..

haha, i kena the title "housewife" cause of the cooking for 2days haha.. but we all (3 of us girls) said that women now are independant.. don't call housewife haha..

besides putting up with:
1. dirty toilets
2. a shower that always clogs up 9 out of 10 times when i shower
3. a neighbour upstairs that loves to blast music
4. a neighbour downstairs that loves to have friends over and talk loudly
5. corridor mates who ignore me as if i don't exist
6. corridor mates who love to drink, get drunk and be loud, and
7. wednesdays nights where they always have a party here, (apparently wednesday night, is party night for the university...i have 6 hours worth of classes on thursday if not i could care less..)

a dirty pantry is also one of the things that i have to put up with, and the people in my corridor are always hogging it, that's why it's so dirty, 26 people sharing one pantry... go figure!


the microwave oven in the corner.. i think i forgot to take a picture of the fridge, but oh well, i can't do it anymore now, cause my camera is spoilt, it fell down and now can't take anymore pictures == anywaym they just pile their sugar, coffee and tea on top the oven...

here it is near the sink, they just love to pile everything here and there, they use the basin in the sink to wash dishes, if you ask me, it's kind of unhygenic... but what to do? they have one tap for cold water and one tap for hot water, and the water here is icy cold.. brainless gits...

oh... well there is a bright side to things, this here was on the 21st of october, where ai kun cooked curry.. yummy. introducing the people from the left, we have janice and jackie from hong kong, ai kun, me and vicky who is a hungarian but lives in new york. the kitchen looks a bit cleaner this round, cause one of them cleaned it right before we used it..

in the dining hall, this is the crap that we eat daily... introducing people again, from left, me, ai kun, and my neighbour, vinyee, she's born in UK but her parents are from hong kong, her cantonese is fluent, so don't play play hehe.. :p

ermm a little update, yesterday on the 28th of october, i went for a trip to stonehenge and salisbury, i shall upload teh pictures soon, they are here and there everywhere with friends, so i have to get it from them..

ermm.. after the trip we came over and ordered take out, ie kebab haha, and they did a mix up with our orders ahha desmond called to scold them, haha i love that guy man, really like my evil twin or something haha, (when i was my old self, before meeting yee sin :p) the way he scold damn chun la haha, but compared to me, he's more patient la haha... no foul language haha...

ok, those who were having take out were, yong luk, joel, vicky, mel, ai kun, me, and pol.. desmond... i don't know what he was doing here in bridges, if he didn't come to eat.. == maybe he jsut came to scold haha.. :p lucky we had him to do the scolding haha.. i had no mood to scold, if i scolded, all the foul language was sure to come out haha..

anyway the kebab was so, so.. and well i wasn't really in much of the mood, cause of my camera... sigh, accident la, whatever i do also time won't turn itself... anyway it's a thing, pricey ler, but still replaceble..

suprisingly, i knew that, somethng like that would happen yesterday muahaha premonition? don't play, play with my sight of foresight... :p (tarot reading anyone? haha) so ermm since it was like expected, i was kind of cool about it.. but oh well, people can live without cameras why can't i? till i go back to malaysia to have it fixed we will see how..

upset also can't do anything, and as some of you all know, i'm not honest with my emotions... so, ermm its dangerous in a way, that you can't tell when i'm depressed, angry etc.. like that time i was depressed nobody could tell unless i told them.. good actor, no? hehe.. honestly actually i havent gotten over my depression, but oh well... my mind is stronger than my heart.. rational thinking sucks...

tonight it's mel's turn to cook.. can't wait to see what she's gonna do.. hehe..

meet Frank and Helen, they are the swans in the lake haha.. the whole white kinghts lake, is dominated by them. they are very dominant... if other swans come, and even their own, babies, when they are old enough, they will get chased out.. man. the lake is so big.. can't they share?... guess not haha...

how did i know alll this? i was told by an old man.. i see him everyday by the lake, feeding them you see, so today i decided to talk to him, he's from some society called, swan life, and well he looks after the well being of the swans.. i was told that sadly, one of the swans, has died, and they are getting a new mate for the remaining swan.

the swans mostly die from poisoning, as this is a lake, the water is stagnent, and well the leaves that fall on the water, will sink to the bottom, cause they can't flow away... providing good nutrition, however, at the bottom there are also alot of bacteria which is poisonious to the swans.. so sadly....

anyway i was told that the water being shallow is one of the reasons why the swans get so easily poisoned.. apparently i can walk from one end to the other end of the lake and the water will be no higher than my chest.. yup that shallow, so the swans can easily reach the bottom and eat the poisonous stuff. so sad..

swans kind of like mate for life, but if their partner dies early, like maybe only after one year together, the surviving swan will look for a new partner, but if they have been together for about 5 or 6 seasons.. whatever that means.... then it's likely that they won't look for a new partner... so faithful heheh, and they don't migrate in teh winter... they are here the whole year...

by the way, frank and helen are the names of a chinese couple wor... == haha

so after the swans what did i learn? haha the next few pictures are courtesy of wikipedia.. cause i didn't take any pictures of the ones on my lake.. cause they either weren't there when i had a camera, or well just weren't there for my camera...

oh and i don't know what bird are next to the swans, cause they weren't out just now, when i was talking to the old man, so i couldnt ask him.. forgot to ask for his name.. oh well.. haha

ok, next thing i learnt..


moorhens... muahahha.. i learnt that they are non migratory birds as well, and when i looked up on wikipedia, it's cause their wings arent' meant to fly long distances, mostly omnivorous, and according to the old man they usually go onto the bank and eat grass haha..but they eat teh bread crumb that he gives too.. they are kind of small.. smaller then our chickens back home haha..

next up, a speicies of bird similar to the moorhen.. we have the....

meet the coot, haha, similar to the moorhen cause they are in the same family, see the white thing on its head? it's called a "shield" coots have white shields whereas moorhens are mostly reddish orange...

finally i learnt that something in the water prays on the poor baby ducklings and that in one year, in which the old man did a survey, out of 100 ducklings only 5 grew to adulthood.. so sad, but that's mother nature or this place would be swarming with ducks hahahs.. so i introduce the .....

meet the pike, a fish which can grow tilll 1.83 meter according to wikipedia, people used to fish to eat them, but they are generally pests in other places.. hmm i had to get this picture cause you don't expect me to go underwater to take a picture of it hahah..

so anwyay, all i had was like a 10 minute talk to the old man.. so i managed to only learn this much.. just thought it interesting to share, especially to those who are already in great britian or who are coming here hehe.. oh and to those who are in america or going there, you will see stuff like this there too :p maybe slightly different, cause like the coot here, we have the eurasion coot, the american coot is a tad different...

anyway just wanted to state some things that i found out about here...

people here can get obese due to the type of food that they serve here, it's all baked, grilled etc, but they use quite a lot of oil

speaking about that, the food here is carcinogenic, they eat burnt toast.. and god know what else is burnt...

food here are all over cooked, be it the carrots, the fish, whatever you name it.. they overcook it

they don't peel their carrots when they cook it.. =.=

everything here requires you to line up, you line up to get our food, you line up to put away your plates, you line up at the bank, you line up at the atm.. you line up....

vacuum-ing the carpet doesn't necessarily means that it's clean, you have to go over the same spot tonnes of times before the vacuum decides to pick up that god damn thread..

the weather here has gotten colder, but we feel kind of used to it, than when we first got here...

the internet speed here is much faster than back home.. well i was on dail up back home.. damn tm net..

i'v already mentioned about the water.. and the people... and the drinking... oh talking about drinking, the carlsberg here doesn't taste as bitter as back home, and i think though they write 5% its stronger a bit... i think...

service here is, very, very slow.. it took me less than an hour to get my atm card back in malaysia.. here it takes one week plus.. its so damn slow...

due to the two posts titled idiot and annoying, we all know that some people, not all, but some are.... make it most of them are inconsiderate and DEAF!! from hearing the beat of the music i can now again here his whole music again....

i keep falling sick here.... i was supposedly getting better than it got worse...

living in a non smoking hall, well, for me, to be more exact and on my floor to be even more exact is useless, cause they smoke in the kitchen and their rooms, both which are non smoking places, but do they care??!!

NOOOO!! they don't give a freaking damn.. and the smoke gets in the corridor, and when i pass by.. and we all know i'm allergic, so i cough my lungs out.. and can't breath properly.... they even smoke in front of the god damn no smoking sign!! at least those on melissa's floor are better... they aren't always smoking and drinking in the pantry...

i know a lot of people here are downloading and watching movies and all.. but why aren't i? i have so many shows and all in my external drive.... untouched...

transferring files to each other online like msn and all takes eons, but downloading things straight from the net is faster... imagine just to transfer one picture it takes me 10minutes.. so called fast...

seeing a doctor here needs and appointment, and the doctor's place is super far from where i live, like 30 minutes slow walk.. man, if you are half dead.. just die on the spot.. cause walking there from here will kill you... and setting appointment... so mafan.. dying already still wan to set appointment ke? well not to say that i was dying... =.=

buying clothes here.. in general buying stuff here.. is well, in a way more expensive, and some are cheaper.. stop converting you tell yourself.. but how much is this again times 7?

i'm always tired here, maybe cause i'm ill..

people here are kind of big size, so sometimes finding stuff that fit... can be a challenge.. go look at the children's section.. you sure? well, if you say so haha...

housekeeping here means, all i do is empty your waste paper basket... which is good in a way i suppose...

the people who serve the food, generally think that you eat like a glutton and they are always, 9 out of 10 times, they are always in a foul mood..

next up, after the abbey was the roman bath... wehad to pay.. 10 pounds something to enter.. i can't remember, but we paid only 7pound something.. cause they have this kind of promotion thing, that where you have 20 people and more then you pay a cheaper rate...
so we collected 20 of us, and there we were haha..

the inside of the roman bath.. this is above the bath area... ... looks like the statue is.... ahhahah

the abbey is behind me haha.. inside the roman bath you have the view of the abbey behind you, i mean didn't i tell you that they were next to each other haha

when you look down you see the roman bath.. the water is so green... eeeee.... but the water is warm ler aha.. and when you look closely you can see the water bubling

we took a lot of pictures inside the roman bath.. so the next continuing post, i think you guys will have to wait for a bit, cause i have to sort the pictures out when i m free.. maybe next weekend.. so that's all for now..

we only had 3 hours plus to visit bath.. so we had to plan our journey in the bus, therefore, we let pol decide where to go and what not, he was our "tour Guide" of the day...

so while in bath the first place that we visited was the abbey.. ie a church where people are buried... it has really beautiful architecture.. it doesn't cost anything to enter, but you are encouraged to give a "donation" haha.. so oh well... donate only la to enter....

if you look closely at the sides, you can see angel "climbing the ladder" it's like they are climbing up to heaven.. i didn't realise until desmond told me... so blur ya haha..

this is inside the abbey... they had a statue to show where the people where buried and all haha.. must be rich people la ahha

actually on the floor there were some too, but we didn't take any pictures of them.. sigh such a waste... you know you felt like we were stepping on people's graves hahah... but this place doesn't give me and eerie feeling or anything, it was just quiet and peaceful..

they had like small chapels in the church.. and this was one of them..
