Tonight Eugene will have to catch his 1am flight back to America... but before that, as his promise to go to the pasar malam (night market) with me, became unfulfilled due to multiple reasons, we decided to catch the movie Wall E instead.
Poor pitiful me, initially had no one to watch the movie with, as other friends had already watched it prior to me.. well I had then intended to go with my mother, but since Eugene hadn't watchted it yet, and wants to watch it too, so he got the tickets the night before, and the next day he came around 1220pm to pick me up for the movie..
We arrived around the time the movie started and headed in to a real meaningful and cute movie. It's really meaningful, teaching us that we have to look after our planet ourselves, no one is going to look after it for us, and that well, everyone shouldn't be so immersed in their own world and should take time to look around their surroundings.
In the show, well this was observed by Eugene and also somewhat by me, the show is also trying to convey the dangers of technology, and well, the obedience of just following orders blindly, and accepting everything in society as correct, and in the end fighting for what you believe in is the best choice for you and for other people.
The symbolism, a dead world, garbage piled higher than the tallest buildings in the city, the colourless world, etc.. oh well, shan't spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet. it's a wonderful, funny, yet touching and meaningful movie, I seriously recommend it.
I enjoyed myself at the movie :) after the movie, Eugene & I headed off to McDonalds for a late lunch before heading home, as he still had some last minute packing to do before his flight tonight. Although I don't know why I felt so tired the whole time.. oh well, we had our usual meaningless/meaningful debates/conversation haha...
