Another long, joined post.. to make up for the lack of updates??
~was educated by my father on our voting system.. thus this post on my thoughts...
With March 8 around the corner, and being a registered voter.. (registered a few days after i came back from the UK with eugene.. such quality time to spend with a friend who was leaving for the US haha.. let's register together haha.. )
anyway.. the city is all hyped up, with banners everywhere, talks given everywhere...but it boils back down... to who do we vote?
from what the newspaper surveys have done, and from my own personal experience, it doesn't seem like today's youths are that interested in our government. to them it's fine as long as we live in peace, and the country progressess...
but not all hope is lost, as the elections draw nearer.. there are other's who want better rights, better infrastructure, better security etc.. but who can provide all these for us?
- Security...
- currently PJU is under BN, and we can all see what is going on. are we getting better security? only during festive seasons do we see the patrol cars. why must it be only during the festive seasons?
- if you are lacking on manpower, then isn't this a problem that you should have taken care off? if only our police force is as capable as.. ermm, let's say hong kong (heard they are good.. how good.. i m not sure.. i don't live there haha or well maybe at least have security like in london. i mean i can take the london underground ALONE at 1150pm and don't feel scared for my safety, unlike here, i would never dare such an act..) security now a days is so important with crime being so rampant... but that's what the government promised.. they promised so many things but how many are done? i don't know..
- Promotion
- the way the parties especially BN is advertising itself doesn't really sit well with me, okay so i wont' call it advertising, i honestly don't know what to call it, getting their celebrity wives to openly show their support for them, isn't a very good nor fair thing to do on my belief. i mean some people might just vote BN just because Siti Nurhaliza's husband is a BN supporter, and not because of the constitution.. i wonder who introduced this kind of tactic, or was it just something the other BN supporters caught on..
- another thing is that... people like victor gu, has yet to prove himself since joining MCA only last year, and yet he is already contesting for a state seat.. who on earth is cheah wing yin? i have no idea. based on that, this strategy as some would put it nicely; people are more likely to vote for victor gu, cause he is a known public figure; having been a news anchor.. i think that is sort of unfair on DAP's part.. if Victor gu was in MCA, say for 5 years then contested, i would say that is fair, but not this.. and someone please do tell us who on earth is this mr cheah....
- *thanks to ccy i now know who is Mr Cheah Wing Yin, check it out yourselves*
- with so little information, especially from DAP on the state seat.. the state seat, seems to be a given to victor gu.. is that how it's supposed to run?
- another thing i am kind of concerned about it that, Chew mei fun seems to be doing jobs meant for the state assemblyman, ie the one we chose for the state seat.. shouldn't she leave that job to the state? i mean sure she can do it (well some of it, even if she wants to do it personally, please do it with the state assemblyman), but it makes her look like she is more suited for the state seat, and that she doesn't trust her state assemblyman? doing things this way, without her state assemblyman is like climbing over her state assemblyman.. well personally i feel that it looks that way. she should just do more charity work, work together with her state assemblyman, and well contest more for our rights in the parliament..
- State Seat
- i think the state seat should be advertised vigriously as well, not only the parliament seat, i mean, we need to know who is doing all the work in the state/district. if let's say victor gu wins, he should make everyone know that he is in charge of the district, not only during elections but during his whole term.. i mean this is a long term strategy, don't they think? if he makes himself known to be friendly with the people now, and is known to be hardworking in serving the community, if by chance he wishes to contest for the parliament seat, i bet, that he would most likely get it, if not at least re-elected to his state seat... sometimes i wonder what are these politicians thinking..
"If you think in terms of one year, plant a seed, if in terms of ten years, plant trees, and if in terms of one hundred years, teach the people"
–Confucious-
- in other words, this quote means to think long term, from experience i noticed a lot of people lack this, they only think of the now and maybe tomorrow, but that is as far as they go, they don't really think about 10 years for now, or even 5 years from now...
- to them, when that time comes it comes, or i still have time, or if they do think, it's not really that realistic.. shows how mature youths are now adays? it also shows that we don't really have a goal.. sad indeed.. very sad... can we change this through education i wonder, or is this due to their mentality?
- Political Equality...
- overseas like the UK they have two parties, the labour and conservative (if i recall correctly).. that, i think would be better, as of now we have so many parties, i honestly don't know who is who.. what with BN, DAP, PAS, PKR etc..
- why can't malaysia be like that? just to have two parties... well i guess it's because we are multiracial that's one thing.. until the day comes when we have two truly multiracial parties (ie no MIC,MCA, UMNO but just one big multiracial party, same goes for DAP, if DAP could become one big multiracial party as well...)
- i think if it became like that, there would be more political equality and hopefully some transparency then BERSIH need not contest so much haha..
- Education & Political Awareness...
- isnt it a fact that most of our youths today are ignorant about the country's politics? why is that? ask our government...
- overseas, politics are introduced to some.. in higschools, but mostly in universities.. but what bout our country? universities and colleges aren't allowed to have such things going on at all..
unless you teach this hot headed youngsters from young, that violence isn't the way to do things.. cause it seems that alot of people don't use their brains, but prefer their fists.. all i can say is one word.. brash...
- also the quota system really should be thrown out, the standards in our universities are so bad, and people who deserve to get in, can't just because of the quota system. the last prime minister realised this, but i don't think that much has been done about it, the quota system, as far as i am concerned still seems tightly in place...
- more things should also be done about our education, if the government has decided to teach science and maths in english, then stick to it, and expand from there. it is a fact that english is an internationa language and we need to improve on it.
- some subjects on the other hand seems kind of useless what with this english science techonology studies in school?? what is that?? so much about multi corridor, and IT, when i was in school, the kind of programmes that we were using were meant for primary school kids.. upgrade the level!!
- build and revive more schools according to the public's wishes...
what DAP's PJU representative Tony Pua says during his talks, does hold water (there are some minor leaks i guess but mostly it was fine..), he was spouting nothing but statistics, and facts which we all know are true, whether it's really reported or not, it's the truth that we malaysians know..
so who do we vote for? most of us seem to still support BN and our only reasons for voting the opposition is just to warn the government that we can get tired and make a change, it's like telling them to do better or else.. is that the right reason to vote? to warn BN?
hmm~ i on the other hand would probably pity PJU's MB if she loses her seat, cause she is hardworking, i guess her priorities are just a little off... or her strategy, if i could find a better way to word it..
PJU is a densely populated area, where the majority of people here are all educated..
Well there are other parties, but where i am now, this two parties are battling a firece contest..
sigh decisions. decisions..
what chew mei fun has done... some of it i guess, can be seen, but will tony pua keep his words if he is elected.. we don't know what he is capable of unless we give him a chance to show what he can do.. he could be really capable or he could just be an empty tin.. should the people give him a try, i don't know, that remains to be seen.. as for me... my days are limited but i'm still undecided..haha
both sides has it's pros and cons, and me being altruistic i tend to pity the side that will lose whoever it is, and i tend to look at the difficulties that they are facing, and i sort of understand.. i mean let's say for example, if the MP (could be anyone) was gung ho bout serving the community, but if he/she doens't have the right, loyal helpers it gets you no where..
if the people working for you don't respect you, and wish to do things their way, what is the point of you being in charge? this reminded me of when i was asked to be camp chief for my scout troop at the time of my depression... such a bad time..
my seniors obviously has no respect for me.. i admit i may be somewhat lacking in scouting skills, but i have confidence in my administrating skills.. maybe because of past experiences where i've always been placed with arrogant people that may have tainted my name, but they didn't even give me a chance to work properly with them..
(gah even thinking about it now, makes me so fired up... arrogant bastards.. i got along well before this camp, though i had to tend to arrogant idiots.. and i didn't even bother arguing, cause as long as my friends believed in me i was fine, but during this particular, camp, i didn't have my support group.. terrible, terrible experience.. )
bad team work and leadership are almost always due to arrogant idiots.. i mean, if i've already lowered myself to come and see you countless of times, and asking you for your plans.. can't you just give it to me, or look for me in return to discuss.. i mean.. i am in charge here not you.. you don't see the boss approaching his employer for his documents.. the employer sends it to the boss.. people like that are the worse.. inconsiderate people.. selfish, arrogant.. arghh
it's incidents like this, that ensure that i really hate politics, and people that are as described as above.. but what can we do.. the world is a colourful place, and to live in this society we need to except that there are bastards like them out there, and such a person, may even be our boss, so we have no choice but to just smile and nod, and hope he goes away...
we humans are an adaptable species, so what can we do but adapt.. whether we like it or not, it's evolve or die, it's nature's law and it applies itself in society as well..
darn.. deviated from the main topic.. (but it's good to rant.. let it all out... )but anyway that's about all i have to say.. lately it's been raining really heavily, thunderstorms and all, i was afraid for my precious modem.. so am hardly online.. and before that i was having some problems.. yet again with maxis (sigh what else is new?)
Back to the topic..
BN has realized that the citizens now are no longer ignorant (especially PJU) and will not tolerate injustice, we speak our voices out more now. it's time for a change, and BN had better change or risk losing their power..
i actually feel like they should make way for more young blood.. some of the people holding positions in the government are way past retirement age.. so they should stop being so greedy and scoot over for the younger generation who knows what they want, and who are more open to others.. (not to say that all the old people are narrow minded.. what am i saying.. sigh.. i don't like politics, and don't really follow it.. just because now i have to vote... sigh)
vote, vote.. who do i vote?
should we ask for political equality?? and deny BN it's 2/3 majority? or should we just continue supporting BN with the hope that they will improve???
that remains to be seen...

recently i read in the newspapers that some employers actually googled up potential employees and read their blogs, before deciding to hire them.. my oh my i guess all of us should start blogging with a pen name now to avoid identification...
a blog is a place for people to express themselves, because of such an unreasonable fear that what you have written in the moment of your passion, or anger what ever it may be, it is curbing the creative juices and the expressivness of writers.. why should we have such a fear? what gave the right to employers to judge us based on what is written on our blogs?
so what if i had a blog since i was 12, and at the age of 23 am applying for a job... so what are you going to do? implicate me based on something i wrote 10 years ago??? or for that matter 3 years ago? people change over time.. 3 years ago i wasn't as mature as i am now.. what gives you the right to curb my expressiveness?? heck you shouldn't even take into account what i wrote yesterday, as my work personality; work and personal issues are two separate things..
it's unfair for employers to do that to implicate their employees.. they are already implicated based on their paper qualifications, that is enough. cause not everyone can manage or afford a degree. why the further implication?
what people write, doesn't neccessarily show their work ethics, the best way to know your employee is to observe them as they work. then only then, do you decide to implicate your employee...

on another note, i haven't been updating much of late.. reason being.. no mood..
feeling kind of lazy, and i was watching a japanese drama called Nobuta wo produce. a funny comedy, and touching about friendship, how i wish i have friends like that..(well i guess i might have one or two.. but they have been kidnapped by Mr. Education haha) sigh, guess that is just life...
watching that drama, it was actually a (very?) touching story about friendships, and i was left wishing for a friendship such as that.. (but i think it's somewhat impossible, cause we all have our own lives and money constraints.. no one will follow me to Osaka just because i was forced to move there permanently... ) i guess shows, are just what they are.... shows..
unless i regain my mood i may not post again anytime soon... and i stil have some overdue posts.. mainly being the time my brother was home for the holidays, my trip to perth and recently on the 1st of march, i went out with classmates. i might post that one.. that should be a quick one, cause there is nothing much to say about that one..
my first post for march being like that.. haha i guess that speaks volumes... i'm just tired...
